Title: Copyright, what is and what isn't?
Post by: derebeyi on July 04, 2013, 08:12:20 PM
I need to right a privacy policy and I need something to base it on, I had the idea of just copying a similar companies privacy policy and then editing it with our name and changing a few clauses. Is that legal? How much would I have to change for it to be legal if it is illegal?

Thanks.

I suggest finding no less than three such policy gleaned from the internet, plugging in your name of choice for starters. Then eliminate all that doesn't apply. Then hunt down others when needing text to add to your policy that's related to your enterprise.

I use this:

It is a great for new websites to get something up that you can add to it later.

cheers guys, I've taken one, deleted all that isn't needed, subbed in the name of my company and then changed the wording of a few clauses. I think that should be okay.
Thanks for the help guys.
