I think they will invest less if price of Token is in terms of bitcoin but might invest more if price will be fixed in terms of USD/fiat.

Many people who have invested ETH in tokens when ETH price was very low are getting higher return in terms of fiat right now as even if token price remains same in ETH, it will be worth more due to pump in ETH price over the last few weeks.

When bitcoin price is on the rise, people tend to exchange it to fiat and wait bitcoin price to drop and start buying again
As for investing in ICO,usually people will start to invest when the bitcoin price is stable

While Bitcoin price increase and more expensive then people want to invest but they couldn't afford a single coin so a guy like me that only earn $500 salary a month can only afford on Altcoins that you could get a thousand of tokens with tens of dollars.
People are catching up Crypto-Currencies so they are investing in Atlcoins today so as we noticed if Bitcoin rises, Altcoins will rise also but not as high as Bitcoin but the best thing is Altcoins will offer us good return of investments after due time.
Even we missed investing Bitcoin while it's cheaper but we can invest in Altcoins today.

Invest in the bullish market, hodl in the bearish market. I don't think people will hodl bitcoin instead of actively investing ICOs.

in a bullish bitcoin market Alta and tokens tend to correct their btc price with their fiat value. Your fist value usually will stay stable but you will loose btc value. There's always a cycle you can catch and profit before bitcoin makes a move.

I think people dont just hold bitcoin on their hand but also altcoin. When the BTC price is rising and ALT got red, they replace trading activity with invest on ICO/ITO.

Well said but if blockchain does the same thing what off chain does, its gonna be the same sad story!

I think if the project it good and safe enough maybe you don't want to miss a chance. I used to think buy and hold some top coins.
But now I invest 30% to ICOs and I think you should try if have time to research it. 2 in many of mine :  https://indahash.com (https://r.indahash.com/participate/8034.html) and https://ins.world (https://tokensale.ins.world/?ref=3192b3815ad80ed89a258d6b)  :D

I don't think the BTC has anything to do with the ICO-investments.
I do think that an increasing ETH-price will influence the ICO-market.

Most prices are communicated in an early stage. So if companies don't change their Token/1ETH prices, it's more expentive to buy tokens.

Besides that; we are in a bull market right now. If you invest in an ICO, which isn't going to be on the market for some time, it will cost you money. Because, your possible investment is sent to that company. You will receive your tokens, but... that possibly won't change in value.

As bitcoin rises, ICO investment decreases eventually. Becaue people don't want to take the risk of missing bitcoin price rise. They wanted to lower the risk by getting into bitcoin. The impact becomes negative for any ICO.

That's what I was thinking about, don't know how many would second that.

A lot of people are starting to invest less money on ico's than before.

And this is one of the reasons about why a lot of ico's have been giving out some free tokens in order to compensate those who invested in bitcoin before it pumped over $9000..

It is a risky decision to invest into an ico using bitcoin, because you know that sooner or later bitcoin is going to go up. The best thing that you can do is just invest using ethereum or any other altcoin that they accept.

But i dont use to invest in those projects, often i use to invest $100, but that is a minimal investment.

Well, if ICO investors were like me, they would all be afraid to invest now. All the ICOs I invested in were when Bitcoin was around $1k. So for me to break even, my tokens would all have to perform more than 10x their ICO value. Sadly, none of them have performed even 1%, they are all in losses.

Meanwhile, ICOs that raised millions at the time would have made now tens of millions from all that Bitcoin, not to mention the free Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold. I really hate ICOs now ;)

Bitcoin price affect any altcoin and also ICOs. When Bitcoin price rises, people prefer to hold their bitcoins, whenever Bitcoin price falls, altcoins prices fall too. I think ICOs are similar to altcoins and in both cases mentioned, people invest lower in ICOs.
When Bitcoin price is stable, ICOs can be more successful.

The impact of rising bitcoin in the altcoin was most of them are crashing down the price value, only few altcoins that remains stable like Ethereum. And moreover, even Bitcoin so far was in a skyrocket value it doesn't affect the ico, because most of the ico project investment connected into erc20 blockchain under by Ethereum platform.

That's truly an interesting mystery. I wonder if there is a way to know a poll based answer on this. Psychology is a mysterious and unpredictable area.

I think they will invest less if price of Token is in terms of bitcoin but might invest more if price will be fixed in terms of USD/fiat.
This is proven. If you notice that whenever Bitcoin's price is rising, altcoins are dumping. This happens since people tend to convert their money in bitcoins. If you think about it, it doesn't really affect when they trade in BTC/(altcoin) but due to this psychological reaction everyone tend to do the same.
Many people who have invested ETH in tokens when ETH price was very low are getting higher return in terms of fiat right now as even if token price remains same in ETH, it will be worth more due to pump in ETH price over the last few weeks.
Yes. In terms of USD, the value is still the same but in BTC you loss a percentage. Would have had the same amount of bitcoins if they had converted it while the value in USD will rise which is better than the other way around.

Most people will more likely to hold, especially when both BTC and ETH are making new all-time high at the same time. BTC and ETH are the two main payment for ICO. Why? Because for people who already hold BTC or ETH, their current asset (BTC or ETH, in this case) is already rising a lot. People will most likely hold for a higher price or sell to fiat after the price hit a certain target. For people who hold fiat and want to invest in ICO, they will feel reluctant to buy BTC or ETH at its all-time high. They possess a higher potential losses when buying BTC or ETH at their ATH, if the price later fell they could buy more BTC/ETH with the same amount of fiat and thus gaining more shares in the ICO.

It can have both positive as well as negative impacts on ICO investments.
Many will consider Bitcoin rise as a source of additional funds and will try to dispose their profits somewhere, ICO is one of the best choice to gamble. Sportsbook and Bitcoin Gambling is older concept now.  :D
While some will simply tune to the concept of HODLING, when they can earn infinite profits in Bitcoin, why do they go elsewhere and gamble!

Even I was interested in this question and that's why I created poll on Twitter, you can check people's views:

Suppose that majority uses ETH to invest into ICOs. However, I suppose that when Bitcoin is rising, less people are eager to make any investments. They are waiting to get the profit from the price growth.  :o
