Title: Alt Coins are Going to Fail
Post by: BitcoinBarrel on July 07, 2013, 04:08:42 PM
1 Bitcoin = 1 Million Bits

It just makes sense.

Bitcoin is the Original

Bitcoin will forever be the Best coin.

Sure there might be money to be made in Alt coins. But who cares?

of course, we always make money on the new crap alts because newbs buy them thinking they will have real value. But we all know the reality is LTC is the only valuable alt, sure you can make more on a pump and dump coin right now, but you wont when its dead a week from now, but ltc will still be there.

Haha, gotta enjoy a sunday afternoon troll post eh? Despite people taking the original post seriously, alt coins will never be pushed out of the way, fail on its own, or go away. ever.

As long as people have GPU miners, they will always be looking for "that next best thing" and you know what? In most cases, that's the truth. For as many GPU mining people there are out there, there will ALWAYS be more speculators looking to get rich quick. I guess you can say, as long as there are greedy people, and high risk people out there, there will ALWAYS be a market for alt coins.

I've noticed a pattern too. It seems that Litecoin is making quite a name for itself since the introduction of ASIC technology to bitcoin. What's the major difference between the two currencies other than the migration in encryption? Its cap; 84 million maximum Litecoins to 21 million maximum Bitcoins. Easier to obtain. When a currency mimics another successful currency, and others take to it, it will grow. I've got my eyes set on feathercoin due to the amount of media attention it's been getting lately. Its difficulty has gone up a lot too.

Plus, with a cap of 21 million coins, TC, you sure people will enjoy working with microbitcoins? Even the miners (asic) will get tired of it.
