I have a wallet that is unable to dump the private key for the address i've used for months to receive my coins. repairwallet, checkwallet all return good result.. but running the dumpprivkey command, it returns an error that the key for that address is unknown. This was an original generated address from the wallet. Anybody an idea how to fetch that private key back? With correct wallet software, you mean the one I used when I first installed this QT-wallet? Carefully check the information! and it's not an issue of password.. the wallet can be unlocked without a problem, it also receives coins on the address.. and when creating a new address within the same wallet, the new address is able to retreive the private key.. it's just the original wallet address that does not seem to have that private key still attached to it. And make sure you got the private key jotted down somewhere safe.
