The government of Iceland does not have the necessary skills to manage its own currency. It should ditch the Icelandic krona and adopt Bitcoin, a nascent virtual currency that so far looks like the preserve of speculators, internet geeks, money launderers and illicit online gamblers.

Interesting read.  I found it fascinating that it mentioned that people in Iceland had to look for creative ways to protect their hard earned money from inflation.  People are willing to give things a try when they are looking for good options.

It did go on to say that people have "lost money" due to the volatility.  I would think that some people have lost "potential" money if they bought BTC higher than it is valued now, but they still hold the BTC and if the price rises they will not have lost anything in the long run, so this is not necessarily true in all cases.  Only those that have sold at a loss have really lost money.

Interesting...

https://crypto-trade.com/ say they have plans to move to Iceland and change to a .is domain.

From https://btct.co/security/CRYPTO-TRADE#tab4

"Dear shareholders

We have some great news for you about our recent site developments and future dividend plans.

1) Crypto-trade will soon change its tld from .com to .is (iceland) .The decision was taken as a prevention measure considering the domain seizures of big companies like Libertyreserve and many more using .com tld. After the new .is tld becomes active, all the .com domain requests will be redirected to .is"
