Title: 5870 mining at half hash rate
Post by: bubba on July 02, 2011, 12:28:01 AM
Hi,

I had 2 x 5870, non crossfire hashing 374 mhashes each 24/7. one broke and i got a new one.
the new 5870 is mining at 166 mhashes, while the other (old) is mining at 374 mhashes.

anyone experience this as well ? is the new card broken (shaders fried) or would it be network lag or issues in the pool ?

best regards
bubba

Google and download a freeware GPU Id program.  Use it to verify its a true 5870 running at default clock speed.  If so, then try a GPU benchmarking program.  This will independently verify that your card is malfunctioning or not.

msi afterburner will tell you the clock speed of what the card is running at. I got a feeling its not running at its true speed

both are running at 895 MHz...yet the replacement still hashes at half rate
