Title: Poloniex Question
Post by: dveddfe on December 05, 2017, 12:00:34 PM
I have some BTC in Poloniex.

Within Poloniex, how do I go from BTC to USDT so that I can purchase XMR/USDT?

I want to purchase currencies within Poloniex with USDT as the secondary.

Thanks

Why take the longer route? Why not just buy XMR with BTC? Then if you want to sell your XMR then sell for USDT. ???

I don't see that point of selling your BTC for USDT then buying another altcoin with it. If you want to trade USDT then when the time comes for you to profit from your XMR purchase then sell it for USDT and buy whatever you want with USDT if you still want to trade.

You can click the "BTC" section to buy XMR with your BTC then when you want to sell for USDT click "USDT" section.

What do you mean by "how"? You simply trade your bitcoins for Tether and then your Tether to XMR. They have both BTC/USDT and XMR/USDT tickers.

Just exchange your BTC for XMR. This exchange won't be instant though as BTC takes a moment.

Another issue I have with Poloniex is, you can't see anywhere how much you are up or down on the trade. For example, there is no place where it shows you are up, $200 or down $200. You just have to calculate yourself the difference which is annoying.

Am I wrong about this?

Not sure about about the exchange, but you can see your current profit/loss in margin trading in the box next to the chart. Don't think you can see your overall P/L though, which I agree is quite annoying.
