Title: Suggestions for an app?
Post by: thirdprize on December 05, 2017, 11:02:55 PM
i would like to write a crypto related app for iOS and Droid.  Any suggestions?  There are loads of wallets and price checkers.  What would be a killer app?

Maybe, a investment app using testnet coins and the real market of Bitcoin. People could then practice via testnet coins investing in the market and trying to profit before they actually start investing with real funds.

If it is for mobile, make a game. Rewards and Payments will be through bitcoin denominated in-game currency which can be purchased using the regular methods or the in-game bitcoin wallet address.
This will be maintream.
Be early or regret it later.

A good wallet!

I want a open source, multi currency wallet for android, which gives me access to my priv keys. It should have a seed too.

Furthermore a plugin system for different things would be nice, so you have many features but only those active which you need. (f.e. Price charts)

I have been waiting for a decent multi coin wallet that utilises arbitrage to cut costs.

e.g. You want to buy BTC, the app notices that you could get this cheapest (including fees) if you buy dash through website x, trade it for eth on exchange y then trade for btc on exchange z.

You just have to have accounts on all those exchanges or do an api deal or something to make it work.

Too complicated, right?  ???

This idea would be perfectly suit to combine it with mine.

There could be a arbitage plugin which enables what nothreat described

Multi currency android and IOS wallet is on craze now. There are too many newcomers that are preferring to have their own wallets that can hold a lot of coins since they are focusing with trading. And together with some graphical charts out there where can compare from the past charts and the current one. And if you can have it you can also have a tab for crypto related news.

It's not just complicated, but more likely impossible for a wallet to support arbitrage trading between some exchanges obviously.
Every exchange has the policy about how to deposit-withdraw and buy-sell coins, it's not possible for a someone without enough resource to deal with some exchanges to allow him to create a wallet and could access different exchanges at one time. There is no shortcut to do arbitrage trading, you have to do it manually.
However, I don't want to save bitcoin in a new wallet, even though it has some features such as import private keys, etc.
It's more convenient to have some bots on the telegram to notify me every change in the price and another bot as coins portfolio to check all my balance from several wallets by submitting the addresses (not private key or password).

It can be possible simulations from starting bank - exchange node to exchange - bank node for a whole cycle I mean.
Exchange index can be selective. It is appreciated to add or remove any exchange from list to see the live prices.
Of course wallet addresses to send can be saved on it as a fast transfer option.
Price alarm should be inside the app and it is appreciated to set alarm according to any exchange price in app.
also price can be indexed for not only btc but also other coins.

This is done by Alpari/MetaTrader, just register a demo account.

Here's one for free. How about you create an app that allows you to distribute a bitcoin investment equally over a number of new cryptos, thus spreading the risk, whilst leaving open the possibility of great returns.

E.g. A 0.1btc investment is spread at the current market price over 10 different new altcoins, with a fee charged for the procuring of the alts.

Make a one click paper wallet generator for this thing:

I am not sure if it exists for Android though.

This sounds quite easy.  Just one button saying "New Wallet"?  What is it, an image with some keys and a QR code.  Save it to camera roll or print it off on a printer.

In order to make the process flow less complicated you could just summarise the steps to the user for information.
This way they can do the arbitrage themselves. Perhaps they have their own trading systems.
That way the application would just have to query pricing and do the comparison which would be fairly simple if you knew the API calls.
It would still highlight the deals to be made and be a genuinely useful app.

Interesting.  That is more of a web site than a simple app.  It would certainly be just for info rather than doing the actual purchasing.  You would have to query all the exchanges to get their rates (and fees) and then work out what the best path was between (in this case) USD and BTC.  That's probably not that hard if you chuck enough CPU at it.  Are there any similar sites out there at the moment?

You have a good idea buddy I agree with him, if the people can do arbitrage by himself, exchange would be much easier and it would be lessen costs.

Also looking forward that developers make a centralize wallet with exchange inside. I guest if they make it, exchange of bitcoin to other coins will be much easy than to create an account into exchange site, because it was too much time consuming and cost consuming also.

Depends what you need to build an App for.If I was you,I'd be asking myself following questions,

1.Do I need to make an app as a hobby or to improve my programming skills ?
2.Do I need to make an app to solve a common problem ?
3.Do I need to make an app to make good money out of it since there is a wide scope ?

You know,decompose things !

An open source wallet which allows the user to access private keys, the seed and uses fingerprint for encryption, instead of a password. Unless their device doesn't supports/has a fingerprint reader. Sounds a bit too much of a work but it will only serve the Bitcoin in the long run. I have pitched this idea before and i wanted to do it myself but didn't get the time to do it. Anyway good luck if you want to make this.

If you wish to make a good app for phones and tablets, turn it to a gaming app. Otherwise, use a trading platform of wallet for computers.

Try to make Bitcointalk mobile-friendly app, I'm sure that would be very useful for some people. Or try to make a tutorial of the cryptocurrency world app that can be used by all the newcomers.

I think there is already the same app before but it is not supported by theymos. As for OP, since you have some price checkers / charts and has wallets why not try to add some news about crypto's? You can get an idea from clicking the new tab of google chrome on android. There are line up of news in different things but most of them I'm receiving is about crypto's since google knew it that I'm searching mostly with it.

I might try this one.  What is the minimum functionality needed?

  • New wallet with private key.
  • Import wallet with private key.
  • Send Btc.
  • Receive Bcc (with QR code)?
  • List wallet transactions.

What sort of security would you want?  Fingerprint scanning would probably be v2.  Should it be password protected?  Multiple wallets?  Paper wallets?

I would probably do it in Xamarin/C# as that would allow me to do mobile and desktop with the same codebase.  Stick it on Github.  I see there are a couple of OS wallets out there but they are all Python and Java and therefore a bit of a nightmare.

Yeah, I've seen that one before. And as you can see, the app is a pain in the ass. It's a Bitcointalk for mobile app and yet it's not good enough to be used as an app, I would rather use my Google Chrome browser rather than using that app.

Well, an app for investors that would incorporate the standard tools like Fibonacci, moving average, Monte Carlo long term predictions and others in some automated / easy to use way would "kill it" I think.
Also, there is still no wallet that has all the main coins at least.....
Price checkers are very buggy and we are still waiting for the "best tool out there"....

App for user-friendly and SECURE exchage would definitely take the win, but it should be connected with exchanges that are not secure and reliable by themselves, so I don't know about that one.

Airdrop / ICO tracker?
