Easily possible and probable given the trajectory of Bitcoin in the past month. It has went from 6k all the way to 12k+ which is a double in a month's time. I wouldn't have foreseen this coming and now it only confirms that I really do not understand how the TA behind BTC works.

I don't think traditional TA rules apply to BTC. But I see it hitting 15K before year's end at this point.

The question was before 2018 not within 2018, within 2018 it is almost a given, even before 2018 it now looks very likely. Forks will only help push up the price and it's only about a 20% increase now in the last month of the year to reach 15k, I think it will happen around Christmas day.

I think it's very unpredictible right now. Probably the most important thing is opening of the Bitcoin futures markets in December. This might look very positive because Bitcoin will be exposed to a lot of institutional money. However, futures markets work very differently to what we are used in classical Bitcoin trading and they can also easily push the price down big time. I think nobody can really predict what will happen when the markets open.
Of course I hope for $100k Bitcoin, just saying the situation is very unclear at least in short term.

Absolutely agree. I was wondering about futures work and it is still unclear. From the other side I think that the price will grow at least until the dust from the forks will settle. Generally after this future markets launch BTC market becoming even more unpredictable.

What is the special on December 18th bro. I do not think that there is any fork or anything gonna happen on bitcoin price chart. We may expect the price growth in the chart due to Christmas bump. Every year we found the bitcoin price bumped in the same month by looking it on every year.
It should be stable for some months in 10k to 12k for long time that would be the best move in the market.

Upcoming forks might not make any surge on bitcoins price as they are just worthless and there is almost zero buzz about them so people will not buy to just get those forked tokens.

However bitcoin future listing might have both positive and negative impact on price. Many have high hopes about bitcoin future but things can also go wrong from there.

Yes, i think so, looking at the charts of bitcoin, one can really say that $15000 pretty logical. So i think this can really happen since bitcoin has been showing great progress.  So i think prices really can go amd surpass their owm record. $15000 isn't impossible to happem.

This year has been an exceptional year for bitcoin. A huge price rise against fiat and forkings. Price is still rising this month. Value may fall for a few days but possibility of further increases after that. Demand is increasing.

Do not expect it because of all those forks. That can only ruin the name of bitcoin with their existence.
Why do we really have to do this forks? That is ask by most of us but yet there is no real answer to it.
Remember when bitcoin started or let us just use the year ago. There is fork like that, but now greedy people came and want to take over.
We cannot reach a better number for the value of bitcoin if this garbage will get in the way.

All points are leading to $15K now. Its above $13K today and that's what around $2K and that is very easy for bitcoin to get in matter of days. And as the previous members have posted, there's a lot of incoming forks 2 financial institutions also joining the bitcoin future contract arena. As I have said, there's a lot of positive news that will put bitcoin to even greater heights. If this trends continues, $15-$20K is possible at the end of the year.

That is crazy, the price is more than $11000 now. It seems the goal can be easily achieved in the next few days. I think the main reason is the incoming forked coins. I think it is a good time to sell some btc and wait its fall back.

Yes i think that is possible that because this few months bitcoins price is rising thoroughly. Now its in $12k , before the end of this year maybe it will reach not only $15k but even higher. And no one knows what will be the exact price in the end of this year. Many speculations that it will drop its price nor go higher.

At the present the price of bitcoin is $14700+ and now it is taking resistance so i think in this year we can expect the price going to cross not only $15k but it can also touch $18k+ or more also. As most of them have dumped when the price crossed $10k+ as most of them expected that their will high correction after that price.

in my opinion, bitcoin price can reach any higher price before 2018 because if we analyze, the price now is out from our prediction and the price increases too high. many of us become happy to see the new highest price and maybe this year we have to see the new highest price. 2018 will be a new year for bitcoin and people open their eyes that bitcoin now is the best thing that they can try to earn money.

People are really going crazy and doing a massive buy because of these bitcoin forks that gives free money so I think $15k is too small for that and possibly we could quickly go to $25k before the year ends.

Today, the price of bitcoin is $14,200 (Coinmarketcap) and it's increasing very very strong so bitcoin is quite able to reach $15,000 even in 2017. In 2018 bitcoin can increase to $30,000 even $50,000 this is really so great with investing in bitcoin like me. Period half month ago i very afraid so i dont know why the price of bitcoin is increasing too fast and the much time i wanted to sell all bitcoin that i were holding but it's very lucky i was not do this. After i read all that news i feel i had wise decision.

There is a great possibility that bitcoin will hit 15,000 USD before this year ends because if you will check its price history chart for the past months, it has significantly doubled. It will only take a few hundred before hitting 15k dollars and there is still three weeks left for December. However, I feel like it's price will dump after Christmas season but will recover soon after the holiday season.

Dudes and dudettes, this whole price explosion has got me scratching my head, big time.   I'm like literally sitting here, jaw dropped like a One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest patients.   I didn't expect this, don't know what to make of it, and I'm really wondering how much of this growth is sustainable.  I've read enough about financial markets to know that prices do not keep going up like this forever--but that's not ti say we're not going to hit $100k next year.   Could happen.   But the crash, when it happens, is gonna be a doozy.

Well those forks are interesting and might give shine to bitcoin. Of what I've noticed, is that before the fork bitcoin will go down, but after the fork, it will pump so hard.

It is almost there already. Bitcoin got little crazy it seems. Almost tripled his value before a month time and it's been unreal if we think about the start of the 2017. I think it's gonna pass the 15000$ in max 3 days from now. Yesterday morning I was thinking to invest when it was 12500$ then it went to 13 200$ when i check it before i went to bed was already 14400$ so, if it stay a little stable around 14500 for 1-2 days, it will definitely surpass 15000$ before Monday next week just before the first fork.

I was skeptic before but it looks like there is a McAfee effect on this thing. He do predicted that early January 2018 it can be $20,000 and the current price did surprised me from waking up and it's now for real at $14,000. One more thousand bucks and it will be $15,000 very soon so it is very possible that we can see bitcoin go $15,000 before this year ends and it can go further than our expectations.

The last time we checked for the conversion of bitcoin to usd, its current price is more than $14.7k. Very close to $15000. Then it is possible. But there is also the possibility before 2018 that it will decrease, and i hope that won't happen for us have a happy new year.

We have already crossed the $15,000 figure people are thinking would only be reached in 2018. Bitcoin is really truly amazing. It can do fantastic things. I, among the so many believers in Bitcoin, could not believe at first that Bitcoin would easily reach $15,000 within the year. In fact, months ago I was only thinking that Bitcoin would only reach $10,000 by December. But now, we are all witnessing another unpredictable movement of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin today is unpredictable, it was predicted 3 months ago that the price will only hit all time high at 10k usd during December but many are failed not because they hit below the targeted price they failed to predict because it hit more than the targeted price of more than 10k usd but it give us a very positive result.

Bitcoin's price now is over $15,000 and still dramatically increasing. Wondering if it would reach $20,000 by the end of the year. Well bitcoin has already hit the milestone of 15,000$ and currently its value is 16,240$. Bitcoin's value is rapidly increasing and if it keeps on increasing like this I think it may reach 20,000$ before new year. The chance is a little less but it surely will cross 18,000 dollars. It actually went to 19950$ and then Coinbase shut off the access and bitcoin dropped to 15000$.  Every time they go down the price drops. This is a way to speculate with the price I think, they say it is because of the traffic increase, but when they close they can still sell/buy for own profit.

News flash! It already has, although it's currently in the 17k mark right now, it has gone up to the 19k mark just this month. It's actually very scary already given the sudden and staggering rise bitcoin is showing right now. For one, it's affecting altcoins very negatively that it's becoming serious. The bitcoin value, although it's good, is becoming way out of proportion because many altcoins have been dying or losing it's value very quickly. It's giving the cryptocurrency market a pretty one sided rise pertaining only to bitcoins.

Current price of bitcoin is around $15500. This has been getting recorded to be the price below which it is not expected to go even when some form of price correction takes place. For me it's impossible to reach that kind of amount because right now its been having more dumps and the price maybe near at $15K only, because its started to drop eventually. $15K bitcoin price was already surpass this last few days, then it goes down again. Despite these sudden decrease in value, probably it will rose up again and even it goes down its ranges is up to $13-14K only or more, then it will goes up again and I think it can reach up to $18K before year ends, it is only my safest expectation.

BTC, price fasting up trust , I mean the price going up day by day, but $15000 is too far range, but nothing is not possible in business, if the price of BTC hit point, is not too bad. Because, it will bring more serious and competition, concentration in the labor market. It is not hard to get even 20000 in the end of this year as everyone know that in the end of december the price of bitcoin increase up as in the previous year occurred and in this time it is laready at the price value of 15000 so when the end of december will come then we will see the price of bitcoin at more than 20000 dollars.

if we see the development of yesterday could be gan and this year the increase is quite fantastic and broke the eye record because the increase is very fast and I am sure it could be in the coming year could reach 30000 $

I think it will be going to happen to reach the $15000 in the end of 2017, As you can see the bitcoin for now always pumping it is better to exchange to bitcoin because the value was so high.

I think yes they can reach $15k within this month because the December are just getting started and the price of the bitcoins had almost reached $14k but then fall for a bit but i am sure that before this year ends the bitcoins will reach for that price so you better hold on to your bitcoins and have a little bit more of your patience because you money can grow even more. Just sell it after the year ends because bitcoins are just like a bubble that is what statistics have been predicted.

I think the futures market will cause more downside than upside but we'll see. As others have mentioned, we're seeing some undecipherable price movements in the cryptomarket that are unprecedented compared to tradition asset management.

I dont think that bitcoin will hit or will make $25k on january 1, because as of now bitcoin is struggling to hit $20k and also right now bitcoin price is decreasing it value,but the $15000 is really achievable by bitcoin, because bitcoin is already hit $15k eventhough the year of 2017 is not yet end.

i think this thread is right on the money. and what sparked the bull run of 2017. crypto currency usually pumps on the forks. and dumps when it is distributed. i think if bitcoin forks more there will be more bull runs. but lets not forget bitcoin didnt pump on adoption or good use case. people are forgetting that bitcoin needs to be useful in the real world to pump. too bad we are not there yet and cryptocurrency have no been going up. on the other hand the alt coins going up was unusual and i have no clue.
a coin like xrp is great and has a use case and doesnt pump and dump due to a fork. but still centralize and is different

I do not think so and it did not. At present, the market is in pain with all coins declining in prices. So there is not any possibility for bitcoin to hit $15000 by the end of the year of 2018. I think it will take at least one year more for the coin to reach $15000. As the year of 2018 was not good for cryptocurrency with people feeling insecure with their crypto investment due to its volatility, the year of 2019 is expected to have regulations in place thus making it stable and attracting many investors.

That's too good in year 2017, there's actually no positive feedback we get from cryptos in 2018 and I hope even more updates will come now in 2019, that might also pump the price of cryptocurrency in the market.

Actually what bitcoin reached is far more from what Ops predictions since the value had hit almost $20,000 before 2018

But the sad part is what we struggled in the following year that i am praying not to hallen this 2019 though theres alot of speculative issues that this will continue untill 2020 arrived so for me,lets hang on and never give up guys,there alot of things to come for us in crypo world
