Title: Anyone else getting "one more step" captcha pages on Crypto sites?
Post by: GabryRox on December 07, 2017, 08:37:36 PM
Hey everyone... a couple of hours ago I started getting this "one more step" pages when trying to enter most crypto related sites... like this one, coinbase, even mining pool sites. This requires a check of the captcha box to prove you are human before getting to the site's home page.  I am getting those on 2 different PCs but not my work PC, which might be because that is going through a VPN.

Anyway, I am just a bit concerned because this just started showing up so wondering if others are seeing it too.

Captchas are just a  normal security for most websites most especially to cryptos since were are dealing with financial and virtual currencies, just ensure your are looking at the right URL and pages and not a spoofed web pages you are definitely safe, I would also recommend to use any two factor authentication enabled in your account.

Probably a reaction to the Nicehash hack. Ironically Nicehash turned on captcha when being DDOSed,
didn't seem to prevent the hack though.

Yeah, too bad Nicehash didn't require their employees to have the same level of security that they required for their customers. Of course I think the whole thing is really just a bunch of BS anyway and it was an inside job, so no amount of security would have really prevented them stealing their user's money.
