Bitcoin is in the process. But what other altcoin can make the most out of the craze in the market which Bitcoin has created. I think that it will take few more years for the other cryptocurrency to become a mainstream currency. And it will remain to be a financial asset for time being. XRP and WTC may come out the earliest to the market with the things going around them.

Are you just looking at coins, which wants to be a real currency or are you also looking at tokens and platforms, where tokens could have differen use cases?
It is a really tough question anyways :)

Publicly mainstream could become something which doesn't look like a cryptocurrency or blockchain application/platform in the first place.
Also what is mainstream? Is it also mainstream when we see huge adoption at the B2B side or are talking about the B2C side ?

B2B could be VeChain, WTC, IOTA, NEO
B2C could be something like platform for digital items (esports) or a game-a-like blockchain.

Only bitcoin. Others have potencial but I dont  see them in the mainstream market

XRP is also great and I already hold for assets in the future. There is a nice alt which you may be able to research, waves, litecoin, ethereum.

All altcoins have potential to be in the mainstream market and become big but the problem is that if it can continue to get user interested in the altcoin, bitcoin if going big today and in the next following year so its hard to predict weather new altcoin can survive it.

I believe Viberate will be good coin for mainstream market.

In my opinion, Dash and ETH will be the next big gain in the coming years. Dash try to be the fastest coin so it good for sending and ETH good for investing.

It is even possible that Stellar Lumens becomes the behemoth. Their corporates are already so strong. It looks like stellar lumens can be the place for transactions.
IOTA seems also on a good way. Especially when IOT becomes more and more relevant. Now there is already building up a business around IOT, which focus on security. IOTA could save a lot of consultant overhead costs.

In my opinion the only alt-coins that are going to fare well in the coming years or be able to secure themselves a place in crypto are the coins that bring something new to the table; the coins that fill a need, or bring a solution to a problem are the ones that are going to be adopted, traded and worth investing into.

The current fees, and slow transaction confirmation speed will most likely drive the price of something like DASH up, because it is a pretty solid answer to the biggest problem of the day for bitcoin. It seems like alt-coins do their best when bitcoin is at it's worst, so you have to analyze which coins are actually remedying a pain-point and tell those apart from the pump-and-dump ICOs.

Bitcoin remains the most secure and still has had a couple of issues over the years in that area, but people can't feel secure using a coin if they can't move their coins freely, either.. So this gives you an idea of what coins to keep your eye on and when. It is also incredibly difficult for the regular person to get into bitcoin, acquire a bitcoin, so in that respect other coins also give beginner's an easier time when they're first getting into crypto; there are just too many variable to tell you a list of coins that will perform, but some simple criteria will give you an algorithmic approach to picking alt-coin winners..

Yup I am talking about huge adoption in B2B and B2C. WTC and IOTA looks possible for B2B but not so clear about VeChain and NEO

This kind of question would really have different answers considering that there are lots of altcoins in the market which do really have the potential but just with our common sense and seeing on the chart we can probably see or do have already the idea on which one we do see a strong candidate regarding into this position.I would go for ETH since this coin do have potential but recently I was surprised regarding on its situation that it cant really handle too much tx in a short period of time.

I believe that Dash and Ethereum will go to mainstream as well as BTC in 1-2 years. Monero, PivX, Verge will be used too but it will be prohibited by governments for sure.

Bitcoin will always remain in this category. Other coin exists and are created due to bitcoin being in the main stream. Also I think couple of coin which should be bought is XRP, Monero, ZCASH which could provide some good returns in the long run and have the bigger potential to grow in coming years.

Probably the bitcoin will in the top because of their highest value in the market, other altcoin also has potential in terms of trading and investing. But in this coming years i think bitcoin will be in the maintream than other coins.

Ethereum for sure - when you look at how many products/systems are based on it already - it does really cover a whole range and some of these, I think, by law of averages, should be successful.

No doubts its ethereum and some analysts predict its possible it could even overtake bitcoin as the number one cryptocurrency and most ICO now in the market used ethereum blockchain for their application and that will make ethereum price more stable now and in the future

Agreed. We have a lot of great projects for now many projects share same ideas. We will see in the future which project will remain and which will so to speak disappear.

Then we have those coins with a big brand: ETH, BTC, LTC, DASH, XRP
These coins will remain no matter what. I don't say they will be on top of everything in 10 years but they will remain during all ups and downs.

I can imagine that we wlll see the rise of a better distribution of singer, songwriter, artists in general will have the opportunity to get fairly contributed for the first time.

Ethereum is already a mainstream coin and it is been used in the eth based smart contracts and many wallet providers also enabled the ethereum payment option next to btc. So clear with that first.
Next to that LTC is almost being mainstream after last big bump in the price chart.
I believe that neo, waves, iota, ethereum classic and zec and all followed next to BTC. So people will greedy invest on this upcoming years like bitcoin.

Bitcoin started out like every other altcoin but it stood out because of its popularity and worth. I believe that some altcoin will stand out soon like it.
Which its why it should be given the chance and not to be neglected.

I do not agree with you. Bitcoin has a lot of problems. Soon it will lose its dominant position in the market.

I think you should consider BTC as store of value/wealth. As cryptocurrency for now bitcoin can't deliver, but maybe bitcoin doesn't has to be the world crypto currency. It can be Dash, Ripple, monero or whatever.
Bitcoin will improve and bitcoin will stay ahead of everything - not technology-wise but fundamentally

I'm not sure mainstream is the proper word when talking about altcoins but I believe that, considering the pressure governments are doing on cryptocurrencies and ICOs, the future is for the utility tokens that can become highly adopted, even if in a niche industry. Good examples would be Raiden, AppCoins and OmiseGO.

I'm setting my eyes on Iota and AppCoins,  
I love this two tokens because these are profitable and good to invest even though they are not a crypto they are ERC20 utility tokens powered by ETH Feel free to do your research, I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

If you are talking about altcoins other than Ethereum which will mainstream with real world usage then ok at VeChain , they are rebranding it to VET and they have multiple partnerships

I would definitely consider this coin, it has a niche market and had an amazing start!
