Can you try to load your Ledger in a different wallet (such as Electrum) and see if it detects your device?

As per the reddit post from "btchip":
"Yes, you can update to MCU 1.1 by connecting the device to Ledger Manager while in bootloader mode (boot while holding the left button) - that's not necessary if your device isn't strangely freezing from time to time though"

In any case, I just tried this and it worked fine.

- Open up the Ledger Manager
- Hold down the "left" button on the Ledger Nano S (on my this is the one nearest the usb port)
- While still holding down the left button, connect the Ledger Nano S to the computer
- Keep holding the button

The Ledger Nano S should start up (you'll see the Ledger logo, then it should say "Bootloader" and the MCU will autoupdate

Is working but is in restoring mode more than 30 min and still not updated... this is normal?

That certainly doesn't sound right... Mine updated in less than 5 seconds! :o

The Ledger Manager briefly displayed "Restoring MCU..." and then the Ledger device went to the PIN entry screen. Is your device just sitting on the "Bootloader" screen? If so, it seems that maybe your USB port or the USB cable are not working and that the computer is simply not detecting your Ledger. ???

If you plug the device in, and enter the PIN without having "Ledger Manager" or "Ledger Bitcoin Wallet" open... does windows actually detect the device?

Every time when i plug in device ledger is automatic in bootloader mode and never update.,
I do not need to type a pin and cant chose any other option

This might be stupid. But are you trying to use the Ledger on a new device with Linux or some other UNIX OS like MacOS X? In that case you have to add udev rules to your system for the Ledger to be recognized corectly:

So, without anything running or open... and without holding down any buttons... what happens if you just connect the ledger with the USB cable?

Seems like your button is stuck or something and it is just automatically powering into bootloader mode... try and give the left button a couple of (light) presses to see if it unsticks itself... then try reconnecting... otherwise it sounds like upgrading your MCU did not work as planned... if it is still on "bootloader" screen, then open Ledger Manager and connect your device, it should hopefully reflash the MCU properly.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to contact Ledger Support.

I've got another issue - ordered brand new Ledger Nano S, unpacked it, create new PIN and new seed.
Then I've been trying to initialize Ledger Nano S following these instructions:
https://www.ledgerwallet.com/apps/manager
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ledger-manager/beimhnaefocolcplfimocfiaiefpkgbf

BUT I'M UNABLE TO INSTALL Chrome App to Chrome! Because I got error "packet is invalid, manifest file is invalid" - see attachment.

Chrome is up to date, latest version, no extensions (I use Firefox as my main browser).

I just installed it and it worked fine.

Try to install it with Chromium[1].
