Bitcoiners are being asked to help fund the creation of Heml.is, an app that will allow people to send and receive messages safe in the knowledge they’ve not been read by anyone else. If they need money, they should make it and launch it as a paid app. Title: Re: 2013-07-11 Pirate Bay founder seeks bitcoin funding for encrypted messaging app Post by: whydifficult on July 12, 2013, 09:46:14 AM The goal of 100k USD is already reached, they still can use more money though.

If they need money, they should make it and launch it as a paid app. Peter Sunde already made a great thing for free, The Pirate Bay, and he was sued like there's no tomorrow, and he's still kicking. If he says he need's money for this, that's because he really needs the money! The goal of 100k USD is already reached, they still can use more money though. it's not like we already have bitmessage or anything either There's nothing wrong with competition, alternatives or choices... "Heml.is is currently asking for donations in bitcoins or via PayPal in order to fund the development of the app, plus the set-up and running of the required infrastructure." There's nothing wrong with choosing the better, leaner competition :) what Peter should do is implement bitmessage in a more user-friendly way. he'd skip a lot of the required infrastructure hassle (and central point of failure!). |
