Title: Re: When miner starts, i get a black screen
Post by: halker2010 on December 08, 2017, 09:05:34 PM
Hello my friends, im experiencing some trouble on my mining rig(7x1070)

Afterburner is all right, nvidia driver (tried a lot of them, unistalling using DDU), i’ve formatted the windows as well. Tried with optimal perfomance/optimal power/adaptive on nvidia settings, virtual memory 1912 mb to 40gb mb, 16gb ram, asus z270p - updated bios and with gen 1 on everything.

Every time i try to start the miner i get a black screen that only comes back if i reset the pc. It’s incredible, when the rig recognize and starts mining, the blackscreen comes.
What should i do ? :sob:
i don't know what else to do.

Thanks for the help bros, any help is very welcome.

ps: not clocked cards, 0 mem 0 core. PL 65%
ps2: it's interesting that sometimes when i start the miner, after the black screen, the fans start at a very high speed.

RAM: 16 gb
Mainboard: asus Z170p
CPU: cheapest intel 1151
Disk: 120gb ssd
GPU: 7x Nvidia 1070 egva 8gb
Power Supply: 2x 750 evga
GPU Adapter: PCI Express USB 3.0 Riser 1x to 16x
OS: win10 x64
what miner do you use and what coin? i had some issues with skunk miner for nvidia of similar manner try lower the intensity ,the thing i got after some testing is the fact that one of my powers wasn't working properly that caused high fan speed after system crash check the cables.

Check your power cables and make sure everything is connected correctly. If so, you might not have enough power running your GPU. Try removing one GPU card and turning it on. If it turns on, then you know you need to size your PSU up.

If you have multiple power supplies that mining should start in any case. Some GPU may not work due to the lack of voltage, but what is connected from the other power supply will work. Try cryptonight algorithm. This algorithm is less energy consuming. Then you will know whether enough of your power supply.

Let's say that i might have an GPU problem, what do you guys recommend ?
Im thinking to let mining 1 gpu for 24hours and see the logs for errors. Is that the right way to test the GPUs ?
If i have a problem on my risers, the gpus wouldn't be recognized, right ? If yes, i guess that the risers aren't the problem.
Any help is welcome.

Dude, change the risers, 99% of the problems are caused by risers

Some of my cards was spilling some kind of oil, maybe that fried my risers, right ?
If it's the riser my gpu wouldn't be recognized ? or that problem can happen even if the riser recognize the gpu ?
thanks, bro

I have 3 or 4 bad risers
Your gpu could be recognized but when you start mining and consume more power...
Just change the riser and see what happens
