I also can't PM it seems... Registered on the 5th of July and immediately made 1 post.

I see at the top that "Total time logged in: 1 hours and 32 minutes." - Maybe that should total to 4 hours before you are allowed to PM  ???

This is my exact situation. And, I'm hoping this post here will remove that restriction.

I can understand the need to avoid bots and trolls... Could someone comment on this restriction?

It's a onerous restriction because I'm a noob so I'm really not sure how to contribute. Hopefully this small discussion on the restriction raises it.

No, you should be able to PM with one post and not 4 hours logged in, I don't even have that currently. Pretty sure I was able to when I tried with....maybe two posts. Try making a few more posts and see if it changes?

I believed I didn't have to wait 4 hours, was around 1 hour.

Hey fellow newbies!

Just registered myself after weeks of "silently stalking" the forum to finally post something myself.
Let's see if it'll be 4h or less after the initial post to contact the person I'd like to pm.   ;)

I will edit the time it actually took in here afterwards. For science ofc.

EDIT: Total time logged in: 36 minutes. PM sent after 30 already! Mission accomplished.

Can anyone confirm/deny the 4 hour PM limit? I'm trying to PM someone about an item in the marketplace but I still can't send messages.

I’m a newbie, and it seems I need to send one post here to be able to posts on other boards and PM. So here I am.

Bitcoin is a funny topic, there was no big interest in it when it was cheap (in USD), and now suddenly when exchange rate goes up, lots of people see interest in it :-). But also difficulty goes to the sky so mining seems to be wrong way now.

I tried to send Pm when I was Brand New but failed. Now I'm able to send PM but have to wait 360 second on every PM.

The longer you are here, the less restrictions you will have

Is there a list of privileges you can get by posting (or just beeing there) beside the first post to be able to send PMs and write to other forums?

Every newbie can send private messages. I don't think there is any forum available which is not allow newbies to send PM.

me too,i tried posting to something else (in favourite wallet)  i should have ten  now.. posts going for 16BTC

Hi I'm new, am just posting to get the fun rolling.  Am doing a PhD in monetary economics, bitcoin is a very interesting experiment in free money.  Whoever created it was uncannily clever.

I dont agree, it would be easy to create new account and continue spamming PMs forever

Because of the amount of scams involved with Bitcoin. There is a lot of phishing sites and other sorts of content which has caught a lot of people out. Mostly from bots/people spamming in pm's. Even though this is still possible, it has reduced the amount.

Here are too many restrictions for newbies, but i do understand.

To send private messages you have to be minimum jr. member and post count should be 1 at least.

As soon as you post 1 comments your status will be Jr.Member after 4 hours. Then you will be able to send PM.

You can send PM when your status is newbie but you have to submit captcha for every PM.

The activity of the creator of this thread still 1. So, I think he is not active on this forum. Why people making comments?  ???

You can send PM when you are newbie. Just post 1 thread of comments now and wait 4 hours. You will be able to send then.

So what is the advantage of being a Jr. Member?

It's never be a perfect rule if Newbies are not allowed to send PM. Everyone have right to send PM.

Jr. Member means you have posted minimum 1 comment/thread before 4 hours.
