Apart from bitcoins which coins do you think have the best potential and have a good chance to sit on the throne if bitcoin ceases to exist.
What currencies would be in the lead?
P.s.-ik that the possibility of this happening is very less but still just wanted to know.

I don't think any coin will replace the bitcoin but some of the altcoins have good potential maybe the price will hit moon in the future,One of the best crypto after bitcoin is ethereum so it will be a good competitor for bitcoin in future and there are other potential coins are LTC,XMR,DASH these coins also made promisable growth over the past so it may continue to grow its price in future.

No other coins besides the altcoins, but in picking up in altcoins which one have a potential I think the ethereum. This coins if you remember the price was almost overtake with bitcoin or the second placer of bitcoin is ethereum. I strongly believed that ethereum now have a better potential altcoins is ethereum it is have a smart contract make transactions faster compared to bitcoin or other coin. I guest this is one altcoin who have potential someday.

Ethereum, Litecoin, Steem, Substratum, Aragon, Neblio,and DeepOnion. In my opinion these have potential to grow.

When you want to invest i should buy LTC and some of the very cheap coins DOGE & Strat!

Mostly all coins has potential but the coins that has many news about them have more potential of growing significantly, so it's best to DOYR before investing in some coins.

i always believe ethereum will have the best chance to be the greatest altcoin on the market, we have seen eth has risen so fast in just a few months in this year from 300$ to 484$ recently, this may bring ethereum becomes the greatest altcoin to be the best in the future.

I'm a crypto currency trader and in this online market more coin but i'm just some coin for my trading and some coin use to hold . I think ETH, SWP, B2x, Waves is a very potential for trader and coin holder.

Bitcoin !! Ofc anyday. But whenever someone asks this question in this forum they particularly mean altcoins. So basically after Bitcoin, I feel that Ethereum has the most potential of becoming the next widely used decentralised coin. I should have had bought ETH quite earlier, but I decided to watch it for a year and I saw immense growth in it so I decided to invest in it .

 I think ETH because it has great potential to compete with other coins. Most of all ETH is famous in all of alt coins, maybe ETH will be the second most potential coin apart bitcoin. Probably ETH will go to moon next year like bitcoin . 

In my opinion beside Bitcoin will many option altcoin that has big potential, like ETH, LTC, DASH, WAVES, XMR, NEM. And then also others new token that just entered in the market also some of them has big potential like Power Ledger, POLL and CCORE. But all of them, ETH will be most promising than others.

Well, I think ETH first of all. Also IOTA, because IOT would develope more and more in the future. Dash with its user-friendliness and great governor system have a lot of potential as well. Monero - some people would need total privacy. Golem but it will take a while to implement this project fully. Vertcoin because it's ASIC resistant and therefore more decentralized. Also Zabercoin. Although it's ICO now. But I think it has potential because in the future because it's backed by real estate which has proven to be a valuable investment for a very long time.

Many coins have great potential,such as DASH,LTC,BCC,LSK,but the biggest potential of ETH,say that it will be equal tu BTC.

A saw that all of you predicted a good future for ethereum and since the beginning of December he already raised 4 times in 1 month and he still raising slowly but everyone knows that on the top 5 market cap 3 of this coins are there from years now but took a look for the 5 seeded place .It's my best coin for now « Cardano» . He is in the market from only 3 months but he grow up to be on the top 5 .can you believe that ? Only 3 months . I don't know about you but I never see a coin having such a Great success in few months . He worth less than 1$ now but I am pretty sure that he is going to the moon . And honestly I am putting all on this coin to go to the moon too :-)

Anything is possible in the world of crypto currency so never underestimate the value of altcoins. There are many potential spikes going on in the market currently. Like the ETH recently has gotten huge attention and many of the investors have earned more than what they could have done with bitcoin. It’s not about the huge value per coin but it’s about when you really start investing into it.

There is great coins which I’m looking forward to, such as,
1) IOTA 2)  JNT 3) IPL 4) SCL 5) XEM 6) NXT,

They are not the bitcoin kind of stuff but they are really low valued coins for now and ave potential to get so much market which can earn you huge profits. It’s all about that and you should checkout them really.

There are a bunch of new projects that have potential but I think that not all can be successful because of competition. Based on what i’m hearing, coins like Iota, Cardano, Eos, Neo, and omesigo have a lot of potential. There are a bunch of others as well. Plus Litecoin and Etherium could be around for a long time too.

I guess there are quite some cryptocurrencies that are waiting in line to be the next big thing. The number one, as far as Im concerned, is EOS. I guess also with Bitcoin being still king EOS will be one of the biggest gainers in 2018. Another one could be Aeternity in my opinion. But Aeternity will also have to prove itself first. Its not ready yet, but when it will, it surely will be big imho.

Ripple is probably going to be the only one who is able to beat bitcoin if it happens, honestly, i do not think that there is going to be a coin created by the federal reserve just like a lot of people are saying.

Anyway, it is plenty of profitable altcoins at the moment, only that a lot of people is blind and they are just investing in the most profitable ones / the most solid ones.

But i do not know, there are a lot of things to do, and the marketcap of all the altcoins is going to be huge during this year.

Tokenpay just end their ico but you know it is not yet release in a good exchange. I can say once the coin is in good exchange it is good to buy and hold. For now, I think ethereum has really the best potential so you may look for it.

if you take from the top coins, then this is of course ether, I think it will be in the first place this year on capitalization, I also believe in the ripple, because quite a lot of money is already invested in this coin, also neo and eos.

I have the same opinion with you. With ETH it is the most desirable altcoin that can replace bitcoin in the future. Ethereum is having great days in the market as it continually achieves new heights. I think ETH will not stop there and this year's target for ETH is $ 10,000.

i believe ethereum is still the most worthy altcoin to invest rightnow and even in the future, we are still not using all the potential of ethereum blockchain, do in the future, eth  will be come more useful and more value than now dozen of times, from that we may earn huge profit if we start from now.

Safest bet is etherium. Other than that I think IOTA has the best potential, they have a great team and super tech. IOTA have alot of things going in 2018 and should be in top 3 by the end of the year. For a more riskier bet, but potential the best investment I would pick a great privacy coin XSPEC. They have TOR + OBSF4 integration, Stealth Addresses and Ring Signatures. If they keep on track with their roadmap and deliver stealth address by default and stealth address staking they will explode.

In recent times, the number of projects with blockchains has decreased significantly. I think that these few coins will be quite valuable
for example: tokenpay

TokenPay is crap, there are a lot of projects that are the same, and they have raised much more money than this one.
TenX is almost the same, and it is not a newbie project just like this one. Maybe Tokenpay is temptative because it was an ICO, and you can make more profit from it.. But tenx has already a working product.

Yes ethereum has the ability to become huge in the future. It is the best potential coin but you know no one cannot beat bitcoin. When you have buy ethereum still you can earn big in the future by holding today. It has the most coin to be next to bitcoin.

If we are talking about the next possible bitcoin.  I think this ethereum and for sure many people also believe this coin will next bitcoin.  Ethereum is one of the most potential coin in cryptocurrency and for sure it will increase the  price in the next few weeks.  Better if you invest now in ethereum because you can gain more profit for sure after few years of holding this coin.  I hope also many new investor will invest to ethereum so the price will become very high. We have different opinions about the best potential coin for sure other people they belive to other coin will be the next bitcoin. 

I think there are a number of coins that have great potential, but as far as big scale, one that could compete with Bitcoin? I think that would most likely be Ethereum!

Ethereum, NEO, and Ripple.
All three have the potential to change your life for the better. Because Ethereum, NEO, and Ripple have an enormous fan community.
But to change the position of bitcoin, I am more optimistic pointed Ethereum.

It would have to have some immense features, as well bitcoin would have to have a scandal, and last but not least it would have to be adopted by everybody. A tall order and I don't even think the most stacked altcoin can overthrow Bitcoin.

these are having good future , every coin will boom this year in this list .

Mean while it is good time to buy ETH, once the market get back on track then buy some IOTA, XRP and Waves that will help to get good profit ahead .

If Safex manages to live up to its potential over the next 2-3 years, I think I will easily be a Top 3 coin in the future, but not sure whether anything will ever topple Bitcoin from the top rung of the ladder.  I think it depends on whether increased people coming into crypto places too much of a burden on its limited blockchain transaction capacity.  It is the first generation coin, after all, so improvements to transaction speed and fees will play a part of its continued popularity.

current market conditions other than btc that potential to take are eth & ripple. i think these two coins are progressing until now well enough even i noticed everyone talking about this coin. if bitcoin ceases to exist i believe one of the it's coins will lead

BAT has huge potential for growth and the price is currently undervalued.  Investing in BAT now will have huge returns later this year. 

I think the potential will be based on the function of the coin itself. Each coin has different field of interest. XRP (Ripple) for example, while other cryptos are seen as  'the enemy' of conventional financial like bank, they -ripple make many cooperation with bank around the world. That's why I think Ripple has potential.

If for some reason BTC were to just not exist or have some huge issue where no one was using it, I think ETH would be the #1 coin. But, that's just out of the current coins. There very well could be something else come along tomorrow that would take it's place.

My opinion the best potential coin after Bitcoin is Ethereum because there is a lot new token use Ethereum for their platform. It's prove that Ethereum needed by people. As we know Ethereum is often being number 2 on coinmarketcap after Bitcoin.

I have been investing in a lot of coins during the last weekend, i bought some Elix, some Flixx, some Dragonchain, and a few more other ones who are profitable too.

I suggest you to make your own decision, for me, those who i bought are going to be one of the best ones during this year.

I think all coin can have a chance to lead, but for now who has a great chance is just eth or maybe BCH. because judging from their progress over the past few months they have continued to prove that they are worthy.

It is impossible to choose the best coin. We can not guess too many nuances that can affect the development of the project. But at this time the most promising coins are NEO, ripple, Verge, Monero IMO. I think that these coins have a very high potential for growth.

There are a lot of interesting and promising altcoins in the market for each category. Bitcoin is the crypto gold, Ethereum for decentralize platform, Monero for privacy, Binance for decentralizing exchange, Sia for decentralizing storage and many more...

I think there are plenty of coins out there that have the potential to be good coins. before investing you have to do deep research. I would argue that eth is one of the coins that has the potential to rise in the future. because in a few months, the price of eth is increase significantly.  ;)

Here are the coins that I consider promising and which I hold in my portfolio: aion, bnb, icon, iota, eos, ada, sys. I will not sell until the end of this year. Also, I plan to participate in several interesting ico, especially I highlight the ArcBlock. The whitelist has already been approved. I look forward to the start of sales.

Personally, I think Rise has a potential although lisk and rise have similarities but I still go for rise.. I like the platform and base on my research. Reasons to invest in RISE: Blockchain Incubator, Mobile app store, fast and easy to use wallet, staking, low market cap. All in all RISE is great!!!

Especially NEO, the Chinese airspace will cost more than $ 500 by the end of the year. It's my opinion.

if later BTC is exhausted then ETH is the main candidate to replace it.

how about monetha (MTH) and spectre.ai? Many people say that both coins have potential in the future. especially monetha (MTH), I heard monetha price will pump big in March later.

With the ongoing market it is impossible to predict which will grow high in value and which won't. Everything is a matter of time, look at cardano, ripple. Both were having low values but in unexpected time it started to pump. Same could happen with other assets as well. We need to be lucky to have those assets in our trading portfolio.

I think that in the future bitcoin is only used for investment only. not for currency or payment options. yeah you know there are a lot of problems that descend like increasingly expensive fees and so forth, of course people will prefer to use altcoin to transaction which has a cheaper fee, but that doesnt mean bitcoin have bad future.
I see Ethereum as a potential coin in the future. cheap fees (now) and innovative technologies that may be widely used by many developers and users.

For me, besides bitcoin I prefer to use ethereum than other coins for good investment. Since ethereum is second to high value it has potential to reach the value of bitcoin soon. If you choose, I'd rather work in the bounty because you can save your payments for the future but we need to choose a proper ICO to avoid scams.

Eth or Ripple?

Any cryptocurrency with better features, excellent technological innovations, low transaction fees and user-friendly can be potential to replace bitcoin in the future. Bitcoin will still rule for more years as the top coin before a qualified coin overtakes its position. Some present altcoins in the top ten of coinmarketcap might try to topple bitcoin and its success will depend on its support and demand in the market. If the coin is well-supported by well-known business personalities and its demand continuous to be strong, it will likely succeed bitcoin. Any of the top ten coins will be a candidate for me.

Gratefully bitcoin and ethereum has always the best potential in the market the best coins that we can choose to invest.Eth is always next to bitcoin that grows rapidly and  has a better features ,a good standard in the market.And the stability of this coins btc and eth has the best.

To me i think in present time the altcoin which have more potential is Etherium. because still people are feeling it more confident while investing money in Etherium. In fact people trend is totally toward Eterium in cryto world and therefore we can expect that in future Etherium price will continue increasing for a long long time and will surely give us a good profit.

all the coins have good potential, but it's even better if you have the coin and the ethereum bitcoin because its price in the market is stable and satisfying enough to invest.

NEO is China ethereum.A lot of ICO are coming on NEO platform.It has capacity to 1000 dollar it Thai year.

Possibility to replace or to go near to bitcoin for any altcoin is quite low. However Eth, NEO, WAVES are really good projects and ETH can be 2nd to Bitcoin.

It's true this time altcoin (ETH, WAVES, NEO) is pretty good and has an opportunity to approach bitcoin, but I'm not sure if it will replace bitcoin function later, because so far the bitcoin function as a trading source in cryptourrency is irreplaceable.

I think bitcoin gold, bob's repair token, waves, eos and stratis have the best potential.
I have added each of these coins to my portfolio and I plan to hodl 2 years.. Enough.

For long term potential elixir and ethlend are best coins. In my opinion these coins are very underrated. Meanwhile lunyr and espers are both awesome. HODLL for awesome profits guys.

I wouldn't invest in lending coins at all. To me it's privacy coins like DeepOnion.

Nothing but eth, if there will be next to eth it could be ripple. But because eth is the only altcoin that has a high value currently so it is not hard to say that surely eth will be like bitcoin.
