Title: Dogecoin: does it have any chance?
Post by: Xulion on December 09, 2017, 01:19:22 PM
As a newcomer to all of this, I've been doing research and investigating various coins. (Thinking of jumping into NEM first)

I was wondering - what can be said about the Dogecoin? I haven't heard a lot of positive things about it on here, only outside of this forum, and I'd like to hear your thoughts on it.

Again doge is a shitcoin no matter what happens to the price it will still remain a shit coin.

But it doesn't end here there are many things you can still do with it :

• You can trade with it there is a really high resistance level at 15 sat which means if you purchase you don't have to worry about the price falling below it. What the strat is buy at 16-17 hold and sell it above 20.

• This might be a important one nowadays with btc price booming the fees is also increasing so instead you can use doge to trasfer funds from different exchanges as it takes the least fees and it is listed on all major exchanges as well.

With Bitcoin fees getting more expensive as the price rises, Ethereum network getting congested by virtual kitties, Dogecoin might have a chance to be that "vehicle" coin — tiny fees + reliable blockchain + fast confirmation. The problem with Doge is that it doesn't have any dedicated developers behind it and its supply isn't capped.

So does it have any chance? If there's someone who would develop it further and fixed the supply cap issue, then yes. Otherwise, it wouldn't stand a chance against newer coins with dedicated teams, let alone a major coin like ETH and LTC.

I agree with all, that is shit coin but it is clear that shit coin can increase in value, so maybe you can't expect big pump but it will increase for sure.

I guess it hasn't anychances to survive. This project is already alive for too long time. By the way according to the founder it was just a joke :)

I'm afraid Dogecoin is probably never going to progress from where it is now, it has about a pump and dump every few months and that's all about it. I would be surprised to ever see any major progress, at the same time I don't think it will die because it has a lot of good faith in the community.

I agree with you, dogecoin has no real future especially due to the lack of development team. But I remember some months ago, when bitcoin price was a lot lower, doge was traded at above 100 sat. Would be nice if this could happen again  ;D

Don't waste your money on this shitty coin. Invest in tokes having strong projects behind: waves, neo, ethereum (even with current slowness issues) etc.

Doge coin is more decenteralized than the ethereum but it is too much in supply i.e more than 112 billion . too much supply so not worth of investing It is unlikely that it will ever hit to 1$

NEM already made 200% increase with chinese wallet integration. Late to jump in NEM, I think.

Doge has no chance if there won't be any major on purpose pump for it. It has nothing to get improved.

Dogecoin will have a chance if the development team hasn't abandon it project. There is no future if there are no future plans.

Calling Dogecoin a shit coin is too strong - its one of the oldest and still has a following after all.  It was a joke coin.  Does it have a chance for investment?  No.  However the points made above about reliability of the network, low volatility, its common acceptance (more than many other high cap coins) means that its probably one of the best currencies.  Ironic eh?  One day when after the inevitable crash, I reckon it will be one of the few left standing.

I agree with you, it has only been created only to be a meme, and a lot of chineses started using this coin in order to send tips or just give some money in a "joke way"

Again doge is a shitcoin no matter what happens to the price it will still remain a shit coin.

It doesnt mean anything, each doge was being tradeable over 300 satoshis each one in the middle of April, that is not fair because the price of each one is nearless 18 sats/each doge at the moment.

And trading with doge.. what a horrible advice.

Will it be around? Yes and it will go up and down. But if doge stays like this (development wise) it will never really be taken seriously.

I agree with you, dogecoin is a meme, it will never be taken seriously because it's development hasn't been good. I mean, their devs are very outdated to the actual crypto ecosystem.
Almost all the cryptos that are now listed on the market are using masternodes, a lot of them are just having a lot of upgrades almost every month, but doge is there... It is not progressing.

It will never be bullish again, maybe sometimes it will have spikes of five or ten percent, but that is normal, it is happening with all the altcoins because of the hype that they have.

The only usefulness of the dogecoin at this time just to avoid to use the bitcoin caused by the high tx fees. Remember the team of the dogecoin already made another new one. There is no developer that handles the doge coin itself.
That means if that was included on the deadcoin.

That is the problem we have now with Dogecoin. This coin is not taken seriously by people like investors. For me i also don't believe in Dogecoin because it is a joke coin.

I would say that it has no chance. Why would someone invest in this coin ? Just for fun !

The question is Doge is doing great. It´s siting in the top 50 for a long time, and that´s great for a coin that offers no privacy or special features over the others.. but being cool

Many great project would dream for a market cap of 296.607.743$..

The problem is people expect it will hit 1$, or even 0.1$ and so... but with such supply that won´t happend any time soon.

If you sold 300.000.000$ worth of Doge in the upcoming months (unlinkely)...that would probably sit the price at 0.006$... Then do the numbers to guess what you need to reach 1$...
