Title: "Unconfirmed Parent" Transaction
Post by: kingiota on December 10, 2017, 12:13:19 PM
Hello friends.

Day 08/12, I received in my wallet a value of bitcoins, but I am unable to use it. There is an alert and the phrase "parent not confirmed."

On the Blockchain website, there is also the phrase "transaction not confirmed"

I'm not the sender. I bought bitcoin through a seller, I did not use any Exchange site.

I do not know what to do. Can someone help me?

Thanks.

This means that the input of this TX was not confirmed before sending this payment out.
Actually there are 3 transactions 'in a row' which aren't confirmed yet. And every TX has a fee less than 100 sat /KB
This could still take some time until they get confirmed, considering the current network status (with 100k+ unconfirmed transactins).
To speed the confirmation up you could try to get this TX accelerated (may cost a fee). Or you just wait until it gets confirmed (which can take some time.. ).
You should definetly consider this trade as not finished yet.

I assume that OP wallet is 1HUFF1yqiaARp3ghC3jGSnLfRAPWy1Qood

He would have to speed up all 3 transactions:

f8910897f154ff7ad57ea123546d582a24431ee6536c86ef7de1b65d4eba744b

f887422adfe98f7a51f86e897ab63ba7b25361f57e6b98eb1a378d0f76b8f4a9

they have 65 sat/B, 80 sat/B, 65 sat/B so the accelerators may accept them.

I will try to accelerate some of them, but I don't promise anything.

PS. I accelerated the first one at confirmtx.com, which sometimes do the work, sometimes not. If somebody can try at viabtc in 8 minutes from now, it would be more effective
PPS. You did good to ask around, they are all confirmed now.

Thank you!

How can I pay a fee to expedite the process?

In the Electrum wallet, there is an option called "Child Pays For Parent," but I have no idea of the Fee value enough.
