Hi All,

I have 400 dollars to spend and I want to purchase some altcoins, what would you recommend? Buy a few cheap ones or all in one?

some of what I'm looking at:

IOTA
ADA
Civic

Just buy one ether and don't care about other altcoins.

Litecoin.
The price is pumping in that coin, get on that before it becomes too late for you to invest!

There are more gain potentials with altcoins than just purchasing one ether IMO.

How high can it go that's the question?

Split your money in 3-4 parts and buy more than one coins.
Make your own reseatch before you buy any.
Don't trust people you don't know.

I think risking your money by buying shitcoins is very bad and will be worthless. My advice is that you buy Ethereum which is the most promising altcoin right now and have the highest price among altcoins. Its price will increase again soon as expected.

Going against the grain here and telling you to put it in one coin instead of several.

Crypto's are booming right now and these safe strategies make sense when the market isn't monthly reaching new highs.
With just 400 dollars you won't see any large gains if you split it off in even more chunks.

Do not invest much into the current big coins with such a small budget... you are late for the party.
Invest in a coin that has potential to boom, don't follow the sheep.

Ethereum would be the best you could choose. It will surely give a good return. Especially when you hold for a longer period of time. Other choices could be Dash and Litexoin. You could spread your changes over these 3 altcoins.

Maybe I can invest in a small coin that has a low max supply and has potential.

ICO is very risky.
if you want to go safe go for ETH and LTC .

I don't like Ada project, I wouldn't buy it. But IOTA and CVC are good ones to buy and hold in long run hoestly. I'm also planning to buy some CVC tokens to make profit from them in the future.

I would suggest you IOTA (https://coincodex.com/crypto/iota/). But I'd still keep some in Bitcoin. Like 60% Bitcoin, 40% IOTA.

Investments in Litecoin or Etherium will be best choice. And now is great time to buy them; I don't think that price will continue decreasing.

I recommend WAVES. They have strong team. 13 th of December new client with Decentralized exchange, 22 nd of December will be hard fork and new protocol. Waves will be able to handle 100 transactions per second :D

Buy any coin from top 10 coins

Maybe I'm acting like a noob but wouldn't there be more gains with getting smaller coins with big potentials? More amount higher gain whereas buying one or two ltc might get me a small raise.
What's your prediction on future prices for ether and ltc?

What about NEO?

it has a great technology and has a good buzz around it at the moment.

You are correct, dont forget most people here who promote you to buy a coin actually hold more of those coins then you probably ever will..So it's in their interest for you to buy more of them.
Choose a smaller coin with lower supply, cross your fingers, and if you get lucky congratz you made it big

You choose yourself: ICOs are risk filled but when you profit you do like 3x and 5x pretty much quickly. Good coins are less risky but you make %25-30. I would invest into ethereum probably and wait. Its going to raise in my opinion.

What about NEO? This coin has potential to go crazy.

This is Chinese coin when the china governament announced that they are going to ban all ICO's that time it went down like hell. And many people withdraw their money from this project. But again it is growing there are hopes like it will become a good coin in future but not sure. End of the day it is your risk so think twice and invest.

$400 is just too small to buy tokens with already high value. But you'd rather prefer a coin where you can earn while holding like Minexcoin, park it so you would earn every month. If you keep it for a very long time, you'd be surprise you will already have thousands of $.  Or you could chose Cardano which is pretty cheap and you will have thousands of ADA with your $400.

You can buy one Ether, but there is no sense in this, because it will be more profitable to invest in a few altcoins. as for me the most promising are Ripple Iota and NEM

I think Litecoin would be better and from your list, IOTA is more promising altcoin than ADA and CIVIC. If you had some extra like $ 700, my suggestion would be ETHEREUM. ETHEREUM is best altcoin.

Not sure about civic but you should take a look at cvcoin instead. This is starting to pump and hasn't even been listed on a major exchange yet. Good time to get some before the listing on HITBTC, it will rise up even faster after that.

Take a look at NEM (XEM) and Litecoin. I believe that they both will raise a lot in 2018. My forecast is $3-5 for XEM and $1500-3000 for LTC.

Make a diversified portfolio. Include at least BTC, ETH, LTC, NEO, NEM, XMR which in my opinion should be part of any diversified portfolio, plus whichever other altcoins you like and have done your research on (don't invest based on what other people do).

I think 400 dollars is suitable to divide two parts to invest in. I don't know about the other coins much, but in my opinion, ethereum and bitcoin are the best ones.

You have to buy promising coins.Who have their own technology.
But just do not forget about the current leaders in this area.The same ethereum, wins because of a smart contract.
There are 1360 coins on the market, 70% of which are useless junk for realizing which needs tens of years.
15% are coins already occupied top places.
The other 15% are perksperktvyvnye coins that boltyhayutsya somewhere on the bottom, and if you find them, you can do from x10 to x100

For me, I will invest in Ethereum, Antshare or XMR. But please don’t take my words and do your research before investing. Always trust your own judgement in investing.

For relative stability, I would suggest ETH and LTC.

For potential for high gains, I'd suggest XMR and NEO. XRP and DASH are also good candidates based on recent price activity, but I have less faith in their long-term potential.

$400 is quite a good amount for trading ad s beginner. To learn about the basic trading philosophy and to understand the same small level of trade participation is good to gain experience. In this regard I suggest ripple to be the best as well affordable to all the group people.

Ether and lightcoin the price is pumping now, but 400 is so small amount for trading

personally, i just start a research on SC and XBY and i think both are good and the price is very low at this moment
but, this is not a financial advise, so you can start to learn about both coins if you want

ETH at the moment is not high yield. It will be next yr. However, take a look a some of the successful coins and maybe... Monero which is less risky.

Well with $400 best option is too invest it in one altcoin possibly ethereum or litecoin as they are somwhat safer than ohter altcoins are also are increasing steadily.But if you are willing to take risk ripple or IOTA are good options and in that case try to invest in two or more coins just to be safe.

Just hold these, i believe in them.

It's better to buy altcoins that have more potential to grow, rather than those without a future. Altcoins like Ethereum, Litexoin, Dash, cardano, are more likely to bring a certain gain. Ethereum will be more important next year, then we'll see a higher price, because of the increasing demand.

I think you should check and do small research on Electroneum. It is around $0.06 and has a lot of space for growth within the next shortest time.

If you do not want to take a lot of risk, I would invest 40% in an Ethereum, 40% in Litecoin and 20 % in Waves.

A good choice is XRB, Raiblocks, instant fee-less currency :)

i did my investment to waves deeponion sys and wings so but for deeponion i am 100 percent suggest it. buy for 400 deeponion and check the rules of airdrop every friday you will have free coins from deeponion on the other hand wait at the end of the airdrop week we are now 22th week and 18 friday more you can collect more onion thanks to it in addition the price is always going up

If you still have not spent them, I would advise you to buy civic  because he is the most underestimated from this list

I would buy ethereum and litecoin. Soon will add the purchase of futures for these coins and the price will grow even more. But you must make your own decision. This is your money.

I don't think you should buy one big coin, try to look in to some promising Altcoins which are under $4 or even in cents, you will mostly get 100% return  way sooner. Then you can have decent money to invest in famous coins above $10.

For example look in to,

 TenX( @3.5 you can buy 100) and will sure gives you 2X in next few months.
Goelm  (@0.45), Verge, Binance, even Sia and Bytecoin are promising will give you 100% return if you buy at current price.  

I would probably take a look at ada (which you mentioned), verge and digibyte as coins with a lot of value increase potential.

Pay attention to the altcoin in which the capitalization is less than 20 million dollars because you have a small amount and even x2 it is a little for you

I do also agree. I had similar budget and bought Kucoin exchange coins, as I do get (even very small, but I get) from all exchange transactions some parts of different coins, which is adding into my portfolio.

With the kind of money you have,do take a look at the potential coins which have really low valuation and invest in those for the long term,look at the case of DENT and IOTA,they were really low valuation coins and the rally has taken it to new levels,just find out coins with those sort of possibilities and invest in those rather than going for rallied ones.

I think Iota and Civic seems both very good to make an ivnestment.

$400 is not big and is not small capital to buy bitcoin. I suggesf the best coin you gonna buy is the waves coin because the rice is less than 15 dollars only and for sure once it will become hundreds dollars you will earn a lot of profit and possible to happen the price reach that is few months and next year. Waves coin is look like ethereum the price is very cheap but after the few months or few years of waiting the price become very high. You can buy also this altcoins ethereum, qtum ,komodo , dash ,litecoin , zcash and monero .

Definitely for not buying one coin for the whole amount. Divide your bank into at least three worthy coins. In my understanding, priority should be given first of all to security. I do not know your plans and objectives, but in this situation you could consider the swissborg project (coin CHSB) for studying and further making a decision on investing one of the parts of your bank.

I would suggest to buy ETHEREUM. It's gonna be worth it. It's second to Bitcoin and you will gain a lot. It's most people use ALTCOIn now.
Other altcoins might not be famous.

The capital is small so pick coins with low prices. Maybe Cardano, IOTA, Ripple, something like under $1 would be the most suitable options for you.

Iota and ripple are good for long term investment. And I can say that these coins are great, having a nice team behind it. Oh and don't forget the other coins such as adx neo. Those coins are great.

The best strategy is to diversify your funds.You can use 40% in a well stable coin and use the remaining in upcoming potential altcoins .
You have to do a careful research before implementing on a decision.Cardano will be a good coin and has high potentials of following the leads of ethereum.

since you have that much money why don't you try to all-in invest with ETH or DASH or LTC, because next year they might have a bright future and price in the crypto market.

I would invest in 2 coin POWR & WaBi. Only these 2 coin actually has working product. So you can guess within next few months.. what going to happen.

I recommend you to buy iota because IOTA has recently become the 4th biggest crypto coin after a massive increase in price.
But ripple xrp is also good, so you can buy some of iota and some of ripple xrp.

First, manager your bank asset, do you still have bitcoin ? if dont, you can save $150 - $200 for bitcoin asset.
this is important, try not to buy the altcoin all in at current price, these alts can going down, buy the alts little by little, it more efficient for profit taking.
all in at one coin, even after you divide is the worst way to get profit.

I think it would be hard to see these coins easily get doubled or more in their values because they are already at the highest spots in the list of coins. Remember that IOTA as well as Cardano or ADA have already climbed from the lower spots up to the top 10 in the list. That is why my suggestion is that you better pick those that are cheaper such as Siacoin or BAT or Dent. Do not all in.

Civic is good choice now. because ADA and IOTA have bumo much recently so Civic left and ready to take off.

If you can hodl you tokens for 6-12 month, you can buy RDN, AION, EOS. I think it's has a good future price.

Suddenly I have started to read that IOTA have gained too much of the attention and its price is continuously rising. Now thinking is this a good option for short term say 1 month to hold?

Also Ripple is another good coin which should be bought or kept holding it for 2018 as the real price surge has started now and will provide very good returns in coming years.

Both ADA and IOTA are really good but about Civic, I don't really believe in this altcoin so much :))). Maybe you should change your mind and take a look at XRP or NXT, these altcoin are being in top 50 on coinmarketcap.com and they have very good potential in the future :D

Iota definitely is a buy Ada could also become very valuable and rise in price.  All the coin in your mention should only be bought if you have already in your portfolio bitcoin ethereum and litecoin.

IOTA is not growing yet. A lot of money will not work on it. I would advise raiden, lamden or belugapay.

I think for $ 400 you can break it down into 4 parts $ 100 to invest in each coin you want. And keep in mind their value as well as their road map. In the three names you give, I like most IOTA and add a name that I pay attention to today is the GRX token. Wish you luck with your choice !!

Considered Long term Hold of coin and wait for profit,
for how long?this question depends on your patient and vision of some of the
coin you hold or going to hold.

for me this are my list of coins i hold and considered to hold far long more than
4 to 5 years or onward.

- BTC
- ETH
- LTC
- NEO
- PART

these are my top altcoins to be pick and HOLD for a long time of period
i believe on the Project of these all , and i believe this will take flight sooner
and will be next great deal next to Bitcoin, some of the Coins i mentioned
are old time coin next to BTC such as LTC and ETH this two are far better than
Bitcoin in terms of many ways but not on price surely Bitcoin would be the King
for he is the first root of all cryptocurrency without him nothing exist also
for all concept of digital currency came to Bitcoin.

Still do your own research for the some of the altcoin, these is solely my Opinion and
Observation on these coins for the past few months of development of every coin.

it's always good to diversify. I would personally put it all in Etherium and wait a few days before trading it for some alts.

If i have 400 dollars to spend with alt coins i rather choose PKT, SUBSTRATUM and AETERNITY, I know all types of alt coins are profitable, but it only depends on how you deal with it.

$400 is enough to hold a ethereum or litecoin, or maybe choose from TOP 1-10 leading altcoins in the market for more better result, because choosing tokens/altcoins from ICO projects are too risky and dont have a 100% or even 50% chance of successful rate in the future, so dont depend your self on some other newcomer altcoins to earn profits, but choose to all proven altcoins that can make you more profits in the future.

Are you interested in ICOs? These offer a great potential, but they also take a bit more of time to research and you need some business knowledge to understand them. I find them quite rewarding. See goNetwork, SelfKey and Dencity for example

Neo and also Waves can be interesting for the long term because both of them produce dividends. Waves produces fees if you lease them to a pool and Neo produces GAS that is quite valuable.

My advice is don't trust to people you don't know at all because they can just make post for bounty ( not all people are here for bounty posts - here exists good persons with the valuable opinions but try make your opinion) Top traders cannot give to you 100% guarantee for any coins or tokens but if make analyze you can find top more adequate currency! Buy very low supply altcoins with solid teams behing you can check out proofsuite,internxt,poweledger, genesis vision,insurex is also very great.In fact just invest in low supply altcoins.

The best practice is generally to split your investment but if you are planning on holding in a private wallet or such it can get costly transferring to and from exchanges with such small amounts. So then I'd go just one coin. IOTA and ADA have already had their pump so of the three you should go for Civic.

You cannot go wrong with the top 10 honestly.
