I can't understand how you have not included Ethereum in that list. Ethereum, for me, fills all five spots.

No idea what Req is. Would definitely dump NEO for Waves though. Better and faster platform, own DEX, and smart contracts coming in early 2018. Will definitely go above $100 in 2018, possibly get close to parity with Ethereum.

The list i quite long but the top five altcoins that is worth an knvestment for a year Would be litecoin, avt, monero, dash is also doing good, and eth. Never go all in on one single coin or any other type of asset. That way if your investment fails you lose everything. And if other investments appreciate more you'll hate yourself for not picking the most profitable one.

I chose the first waves is because the waves have almost the same structure as Etherium so that would really look conspicuous in its rise according to my waves

I know it went x10 in a month but I still think it will be huge in 2018.
I feel I've missed Eth good entry point and see better potential in smaller market cap coins.

Diversification is the best way to less the risk and this is an ideal thing to do for an investor. A lot of cryptocurrency are good to buy and a big potential to go up in the coming years, so better to hold more altcoins than to stick into one investment option. Increase your resources by holding great coins. Anyway here's my list of 5 altcoins that I believe will pump higher in 2018

Iota is touching a new all time high, well it already touched it, but it is now on four dollars each one of them.

Ada/Cardano is a big, but big project, and it will be huge during the next year, and we all know that.

And Lisk, there is no words, this project is going to be huge, i have bought a lot when the price was nearly about $3 each, but i sold them all at five dollars because i was losing a lot of money in lisk/btc ratio.

Dont forget about monero

Hey! My favorits for next year are Stratis, Waves,Neo, Ethereum Classic, Ripple! All of these coins are underrated and after market stabilization im waiting big takeoffs, particularely from Stratis and Waves. Both project have lots events in nearest future and i see big potential for growth.

Doesn't NEO have the same potential as WAVES does, if not more? I feel like waves has already a ton and doesn't have enough room to grow like NEO. What are your top 5 for 2018 because it seems like you know what you're talking about lol.

I think this will be my coin to be held until a year. although there are many more coins that we can hold for a year, I think this is enough to start to hold the coins. maybe you can research more coins so you can have another coin to invest so you can make a big profit in a year later.

I am surprised Eth came out on top. I would have thought that it's already grown a lot, with less potential for high gains in 2018, but you have proved me wrong.

Litecoin, Ripple and Waves are in most folks picks so I will include them in my watch list.

It's important to note that a lot of these alts have seen 5-10x growth in the last month so we will have to look for opportunities to load up.

I have a situation, that I have to continue to keep my old altcoins in the new year. I wait for their growth. ::) And here are my five leaders: ethereum, stratis, waves, neo, wings. I believe and wait! ;)

Probably stupid what I did (since diversifying is always the best option to minimize losses) but I'm quite aware of my risks.. Went all in ADA for the long run... Really have faith in their project and their team. Just a matter of time before ADA starts flying off imo..

In a couple of years from now, I'm either going to be with a great smile on my face or will be sad to have dumped a decent amount of cash into something that didn't go through (which I doubt is the case).

I am quiet surprised nobody mentioned Decred. DCR was one of the biggest mover of this year and has the same potential for next year. The team just become stronger (20+ members) and it will be one of the first coin applying atomic swap with LN. And as a PoW/PoS hybrid, it produce nice passive income for me (along the x50 capital grow so far this year).

First two coins are really better coins that I seen According to speedly grow of market but here in my opinion you should think about another altcoins also like Digibyte ( currently available at very low price ) , bitcoin cash , bitcoin gold and bitcoin diamond , Etherium .I have suggested all these coins Because they have very better technology , so if you can buy them today at low price then definitely you will be able to make lots of profit easily by holding them long term .
Here one another sugg to have these coin is that Be careful to make trading with altcoins in this current time because market of bitcoin is not stable , so wait for the drop in price of bitcoin or price stable , so that not much big dump we see in altcoins

NEO is, at least BTC-wise, on a great low to fill your bags... It should only be a matter of time until the volume and the pump kicks in and it find a way higher solid ground.. imo

Top 5 altcoins for 2018: ETH, WAVES, NEO, OMG, BOS
I would sell them when they peak. I think we'll see long bear market starting in 2018.

Priced against BTC, most altcoins still look like they're in a bear market. This could end up being a bull trap for alts if BTCUSD decides to either cliff dive or start making new ATHs. Then we'll see a rush out of alts again. I've noticed that most of the veteran traders I follow are very hesitant to say "alts are back." I'm on the fence myself. I'm scalping and catching a 2x here and there, but I'm not piling in altcoins right now for the long term.

Long term, I'm interesting in DEXs more than anything else. During the next altcoin spring, I think that DEXs and anonymity coins will prosper.

I think ETH is the most promising platform since ICOs are just starting to be a serious investing opportunity and most of them use ERC20 tokens. In 2018 ETH will definitely reach 2000$. The others are XRP, waves, NEM and LTC for sure.

Even though bitcoin might see a sure growth in the future, you won't get an easy 10x from bitcoin in the near future I think. There are a lot of undervalued altcoins on the market which have a lot of ungrasped potential.

Now it's good time to jump into altcoins for next year. There are many good buying opportunities.
Top 5 in my opinion:

- Litecoin: Cross-chain atomic swaps can occur off-chain instantly with heterogeneous blockchain consensus rules. So long as the chains can support the same cryptographic hash function, it is possible to make transactions across blockchains without trust in 3rd party custodians.

- Ark: I think it's undervalued, it will explode.

There are sleeping giants out there. NEM for example is one investment that in my opinion should be in every crypto portfolio. Plus you should also include Bitcoin and Ethereum as key holdings. Why eth for sure? Ethereum is not an extra ordinary coin, it is just like other altcoins which are totally dependent on bitcoin for their market values and are also measured with reference to bitcoin. The thing is that you should include waves, neo and litecoin in this list because they are very much popular coins and promising as well with respect to bright future. In short, invest wisely in altcoins because they often dodge you.

Because all smart contract alts are the same thing to Ethereum as all alts to Bitcoin. Is the waves, neo and litecoin really promising or not that's about personal choice, but anyway that does not mean that Eth is same as them.

This is so surprising that you did not mention any common and popular altcoin in your list like you have missed ethereum, waves, litecoin and neo. All these coins are kind of leaders of altcoins and having very good market. Their investors are also increasing of daily basis.

I like to suggest you revising your list rather portfolio and try to invest into those coins which have bit larger market and are promising about making good profits.

But also anything in the top 20 here: https://coinmarketcap.com/ are decent as a lot of them have seen a steep rise in price.

I agree with lisk and iota, even thou I sell my iotas recently I plan to buy again, I don't know is it smart to wait some drop or price will rise more. On this list I would add ripple and waves, this are coins for future I think! Their price will go up slowly and full potential of this coins will be seen only in couple years from now. Good luck my friends, I see many good recommendations and who don't have altcoins is just a fool.

I add lisk and iota as my new research and analysis and I see both lisk and iota has a good project and I think it will grow for a long term and I am trying to buy when the price is drop. I still held ripple and waves until now because I am sure that ripple and waves will explode too in the future. I think we have another coin that will grow too in the next years and I think verge could be a good coin to hold in 2018 and I think the price will increase soon.

This is only my opinion, but those on my list has a potential to become popular and people will choose it as an alternate source of income because now a day its very hard to earn bitcoin so what other do they find another coins that can be profitable and they can get benefit on it.

Apart from NEO there are just so many in circulation of those coins you have selected. I think in theory all of those projects sound great, but NEO is the best to hold on to. It's a strange one but the reason I chose Eth was the fact that a lot (most) of these new alts are based in ERC20, so the price of Eth is going to go up as a result, but I doubt that we will see an astronomical rise in Eth prices due to the fact that Eth needs to be expended in order to make transactions with these new alts therefore throwing more Eth into the market place.

Accelerator is the hidden gem among these due to the ease with which you can mine them, and the fact that they were less than $4 in December and are already pushing $20 in Jan 2018.

With regulation on the horizon i see monero and zcash being obvious choices for the year.

I think that such are the Ethereum, NEO, Dent, Red Impulse, Litcoin. But maybe even interesting coins will come out, or rather they already are, but for the time being I do not know.

Out of these 5 Lisk is the only one I'm familiar with. I bought some before it got pumped way before August last year. Looks like I need to brush up on my alts.

if I take altcoin like XRP, ETH, NEO, OKCASH, XLC, XLM because of that coin I bought from the price is still cheap in the end of year 2017 the coins are little by little change rapidly. therefore I am sure that in 2018 it will rise 100% of its previous volume.
because the coin is a lot of support from investors, community, and dev its own.

just look at now bitcoin is decreasing but it will return to normal at the time of its. ETH has started in support by the bank, XRP has started in the bank support also xlm started a lot of meetup activities in the big country ..

Seriously not anymore with Tron, this is a pump and dump coin and most of the time its only being dumped. And there's a news I've seen on social media that Vechain started to be partners with BMW,is this real?

its good for safe investment but i do love to take a bit risk and i do recommend holo, xlm, universa, ubt, and romad. There is a lot coin that are undervalue and i do think i the bull run this coins will have a significant grow more than bitcoin and ethereum.

Well much better to broader your coins from Top 20 and also to new ICO because of their all-inclusive solutions . I can say ICO investment are good options because you can buy cheaper coins but make sure to review the background and the target industry . I see this period to be the right time to choose some coins to buy and prepare for the greens to come in the market. I am preparing to buy eth, eos, ripple, vechain and marker. I think these coin wil make me rich soon.

As the year is getting closer to the end more and more coin are showing how strong they are or weak we might think they are but the fact still remain that any project that has a product has much privileges to shine in the future and worth holding , ETH is a great one that has made a great impact in the crypto space , STEEM , NEO , EOS and BINANCE are kind a great project that I see potential in and surely will be great in future.

2018 is coming to its end, and I think that we must discuss the theme of the tokens which we must hold in 2019. I guess, Ethereum is the number one altcoin. Then, Cardano, Lisk, TRON, and VeChain come.

In the coin you choose, my favorite is ETH and Ripple, these two coin I think they will grow strongly later this year or early 2019. I do not mean that EOS or LTC is not However, if the green market, the whole of the coins are up high. Not just ETH or XRP. So we choose according to each other's preferences.
