Don't get me wrong I like LTC but why the recent surge?

We do not know. Maybe there are whales pumping and dumping it for bitcoin. But can you make a better thread to start the conversation? Or maybe this is your way to make us aware of the pump hehe. I do not mean to insult you but it appears like you are.

im more confused by a long time forum member calling it "lightcoin" but hey, honest mistake?  :D

it always pumps man, china owns that shit, they choose when to pump it 3x a year to dump the bags of coins they been mining.

Apparently Charlie Lee will be on CNBC in the morning, pretty much half of the US investors will get a glimpse at Crypto over their morning cup of coffee.
And in light of the recent btc surge ltc really does look like a good investment.

Its obvious that its just a pump nothing special about it, at least you can see lite coin gaining some value for quite a while but be ready for some dumping in the coming days, profit is coming grab hold of it.

Litecoin is one of my favorite altcoin to trade but nothing really special about the price increase of this altcoin and even news and articles about this can not say what is the real reason, So I could say that the reason on massive run is more big investors are investing in Litecoin right now to pump it and remember that Litecoin price surge happened when Bitcoin price started to correct this past few days so beware if you're planning to join the hype, because the price correction is expected to happen anytime soon, maybe after hitting a new all time high of $200.

Because Bitcoin transactions suck, or it is high so people sell it for ltc. litecoin is good alternative to bitcoin but I don't like it much.

I like LTC too, and I've already thought it would be experience the current price movements. LTC is a very popular altcoins like a silver coins, that's well known by many people for investing, a pumping certainly will often happens since this coin is so familiar on investment medium accompany bitcoin.

Many people are using Litecoin as a way to transfer their funds between wallets and exchanges, because the fees are smaller and the confirmation times are faster. They trade btc for ltc, send it and then trade for the cryptocoin they wanted in the first place. This is what has caused this recent spike in price and interest in ltc.

Somebody buy 0.007 and sell 0.001 good is 0.003 btc i do this the same.

It actually dipped to 50$ range briefly on binance this weekend before mooning.  If it kept historic ratio with btc it should be much higher

bitcoin sucks, it has no utility because of high transaction costs, so people are looking for alternative.
