Title: BITCOIN is a "Secured Investment" Yes or No? This is a Question for the SHills
Post by: bitfools on December 11, 2017, 08:14:34 AM
The moronic shills keep calling BITCOIN an investment, its NOT

An investment involves collateral, that you can always get back,

BITCOIN is a SPECULATION, its GAMBLING, its based on moronic promises and false hopes that it will go to the moon.

You can't 'secure' BITCOIN, sure you sell bitcoin for cash, use that cash as security, anywhere on earth, but nobody is going to accept your BITCOIN, other than its FACE-VALUE at the time of deposit.

Today's BTC futures is 100% is CASH US-DOLLARS

...

In summary BITCOIN is NOT an investment, its speculating, its gambling, please stop the bullshit

Even BITCOIN.ORG call's BITCOIN a "speculative investment', meaning its like betting on horses at the race tracks

https://bitcoin.org/en/faq

...

Secured means you hold title, it means you can go to court and repo your property, but BITCOIN is just a number in the sky, sure in time perhaps somebody will escrow coin, and these things do exist for RICH PEOPLE, but were talking about moronic shills trying to get rich,

The places in the mountains of Switzerland for keeping BITCOIN safe are for RICH PPL, not for the moronic day traders who live at home with their parents.

I agree with you that people are buying bitcoins for the wrong reasons, but that statement is not true. I didn't really follow the rest.

True in all senses. Bitcoin doesn't offer a collateral. But what about the public trust around it. A collateral doesn't need to be physical everytime, some can be intangible as well and that's exactly what bitcoin offers. It is backed up by the public trust around the world.

Right you are! But why would someone ask for more than a face value? Bitcoin's price is the rawest reflection of the public sentiment. The price is increasing due to the corporate companies are adopting it. To determine a value, we need a real-world currency as a benchmark, so USD came in to the picture as it is strongest currency.

That's the best part of bitcoin. You don't need to be rich to become a bitcoin holder. Obviously you can buy more bitcoin that a normal person if you are rich and store it to a secure place, but it also gives a poor day trader the same rights as it is given to a rich person. I know many people who are living a decent life now because they adopted bitcoin and started trading with it. People gamble and speculate to earn money, so if a person is earning money in a legal way, what's the problem? Let it be a gambling and speculating, I see no issue.

Stop talking negative about bitcoin. If you are so negative about bitcoin, please donate your bitcoins to me and I promise to take good care of those. We don't need negative people like you in this community.

I am not even going to check if you are making that up or is it true.
but in case you have not noticed bitcoin.org is just a website like thousands of others and it is publishing an opinion, it is not representing bitcoin. it may as well say bitcoin is shit and it won't change a thing about it.

Well the idea of collateral involves around the traditional methods of dealing with investments and money, those exchanges are born with the need of establishing collateral demand , but ! Bitcoins are something very different, its not a currency ! Its a cryptocurrency more like a share market but more vulnerable than that..also I don't think Calling it an investment is really false...yes I know that we cannot be sure about the usage of bitcoins for the future will be held legal but one should remember that the day by day bitcoins are growing public trust and demand od bitcoins is increasing, its getting accepted worldwide and thus its not really possible for something like this to go down the drain suddenly, thus I think for me Calling it an investment is not really a Big deal^ since up until now since 2008 its proving to be a superb investment :)

i don't know, i say it is not a safe investment but no investment is really safe and bitcoin is a good investment in any case.

but it seems like OP does not agree with me. he one day thinks bitcoin is the safest investment and buys on top and the other day he panics and thinks bitcoin is not safe so he sells at a loss and then starts creating topics here.

Sort of agree with you. Bitcoin is just getting inflated each and every new day without any concrete backing. The whales will surely make some market tantrums which can really disturb the market.  Even many predictors are saying thst bitcoin will boost up but will burst back to its original value. Moreover some news regarding online exchanges fraud make bitcoins more worrysome.

Therefore, Concerns about the security of the cryptocurrency have continued to shadow it. Last year, almost 120,000 bitcoin worth around $78m (£58m)were stolen from Hong Kong-based Bitfinex, one of the most popular cryptocurrency exchanges, which resulted in a 20% drop in the value of the currency at the time.

You are definitely right only a fool or who do not do a good research will believe it is a secured investment it dip and spike from time to time so everybody should know that there are still a risk here it's just bitcoin is very ripe for a good profit but there will come a time, hopefully it will not that bitcoin price will have a big dip hopefully not in the next ten years.
