Very risky to buy bitcoins for $100, when it was was 30% less just a few days ago. Not often you see the same stock/currency do a parabolic run up twice in one year, although with bitcoin it seems that anything is possible.

If you only want to purchase less than 10 BTC, you just buy them. If you want to purchase a lot, since you are not familiar with the market, it's not necessary for you to use all your bugget to purchase the bitcoins at once.
