Which wallet is good to store ERC 20 tokens for long time?

Desktop or Android based?

Independent from device the first choice is https://www.myetherwallet.com/ All ETH based tokens, that are sent to default wallet address, are automaticly listed.
For android you can use wallets like coinomi. Also here you send tokens to ETH wallet address, but recieved tokens are not listed automaticly. You must go to ETH wallet and swipe two times right and then search for your token. And you must export your private key, to get your tokens recovered, when you need to restore coinomi wallet. Maybe the procedure is on android jaxx wallet better, but I don't know, if they also support tokens.

Myetherwallet is the leading wallet for different kinds of erc20 tokens ,  safe and easy to use no doubt about it. Just be careful ,never give your private keys to anybody,dont click any link  that are forcing you to put your pr.

My personal opinion: you can't really get a single desktop wallet that can store all. But Myetherwallet is cool and Exodus for desktop is great too.

to save in a long time better use hardware wallet, you can buy trezor or nano ledger. but I think myetherwallet is pretty safe, if we can keep the private key and other back up files safely.

myetherwallet.com is the best choice IMO, with proper precautions and keeping the seed safe you can use myetherwallet.com to store tokens for long time. Other than that for desktop I think exodus is a good alternative, and for Android coinomi is usable.

Now there are several new ERC20 token supporting wallet but i can personally suggest myetherwallet.com because i am using it since a year and i can confirm the highest security keeping wallet ever. I usually trade tokens, i have all assets stored in one wallet without issues.
Myetherwallet works smooth on both the desktop and android as well, you can export private key on etherdelta and trade your assets

Well there are many good wallets where you can store your tokens for a long time, but of course safety of your tokens is entirely in your own hands (in the form of private keys). For desktop you can go for Myetherwallet or Metamask addon. For Android you can maybe try the new Cipher browser, where you can send and receive tokens and Ether directly on the sites.

I would not consider an android purse at least because you can always lose your phone. It's harder to repair a phone than a computer. In addition, existing antiviruses are more developed in desktop versions ...

what do you mean by desktop? online or downloadable client? if its online or browser based then i also recommend the most recomended myetherwallet.com because this is so far the best eth/erc20 wallet that supports all kinds of erc20 based tokens and altcoins whether it is new or old however this online wallet is also prone to attacks and attemps like phising, malwares and viruses/trojans and there were many users lately had lost their coins due to their own fault because they are too careless.


if your looking for an android based etherium wallet then i can recomend coinomi wallet for android because ive been usng it for a long time now and i can say that it works verry well and it is also safe because you hold and control your private key privately without exposing or inputting it on public just like mew did in order for you to unluck and open your account. it can also support all kinds of erc20 alts and tokens.

It's up to you want to use desktop or android based wallet .. when using desktop I suggest use MEW when using android you have to  download wallet erc 20
Both are good, but I suggest you use the desktop so you can open it on your computer or in android smarfon

no need for desktop we have adroid only here and that is myetherwallet.com.In desktop you need a lot of current in that and not easy to use not like in mobile phone it's so friendly and low current usage because is really fast to do a transaction just one click then your token is already there.Moreover try to study first the wallet because there's a lot what you need to know in the wallet.

I choose desktop rather than android based, why? It's because if your going to check all the reviews from the app, you will be able to distinguish that there are some bugs that needs to be fixed, while in desktop you are are going to check it wisely and review carefully before getting into it. And you can download all the private keys and files.in short be careful with your valuable.

There are a few online wallets i know about but the best i would recommend is myetherwallet.com, it is one of the most used wallet that supports all ERC20 tokens as well as ethereum. Myetherwallet can be accessed through any android device also, this is fully clien-side functional wallet.
You can later import private key of your wallet with etherdelta and trade your tokens after listing on exchanges

Everyone know MEW wallet is the best wallets for storing ERC20 tokens because it will support all the new tokens,so you can also use MEW for your holding purpose.But storing your altcoins in the online wallets are highly insecured so choose a wallet which has private key access then your holdings will be safe.
Ledger nano S also supports ERC20 tokens so if you can afford to buy one of it then it will give ultimate security to your coins.

For me  i used both of this desktop and android base because they are disame as long as you have a back up copy,but in wallet i used MEW because its trusted and only wallet mostly accept with have erc 20.

 I may say you can choose Desktop wallet
    -if your rarely going on travel and just staying on your house or one place.
    -if you don't have android phone to use.

    -if your often going on a travel and always on different places

i would suggest myetherwallet to save your token ERC20, and if you want to save it in android you can download eidoo wallet in play store, because eidoo also suport token ERC20

I would go for etherwallet. It lets you print a paper wallet that is ideal for long time storage. Unfortunately is also ideal to loose it or get it destroyed by water, so... backup.

some etherium erc20 wallet out there are also supports this feautre and i think using a myetherwallet.com is not really safe anymore because  almost everyday there were always reports about users that there coins were get lost and someone has just withdraw it without their permissions. no matter what you choose android or desktop version make sure you just choose the one with a downloadable version and not a browser or online based as it more prone to exploits and hack attacks.

I’m not fun of using a complicated one that is not mobilised.. I’ve wanted to use hardware wallet or myetherwallet but im a little bit lazy when it comes to a much secured one.. So I used imToken but surely works fine for me,, for a while now.. A user friendly and the customer supports gives time to any inquiries that I’ve raised about token listing.. It’s a matter of a choice but just be aware of those necessary precautions for security..

The best is to buy a ledger nano s to keep your ETH / Cryptocurrency safest is in a hardware wallet as its unhackable unless people know your password / privatekey. Never store private keys / 12 word pass phase / password on to the internet as John McAfee said anything could be hacked as long as its on the internet.

myetherwallet will suit you, because myetherwallet can be used for a long time. so you can use ERC20 with mytherwallet address.

I have been using Myetherwallet for a quite a long time already and I dont have any issues about it. So, I must say MEW is one of the best wallet to store all your ERC20 tokens for long term. Just like the majority, try it and you'll see. Its easy to use and secure. You can also print a paper wallet backup for further security.

I have to say that I've use Trezor with MyEtherWallet, Cipher Browser and Trust wallet.

Trust wallet had the least amount of setup required, it's a great little app.

i recommend to use MEW , because almost ICO recommend MEW wallet on sending there tokens , and it's offline wallet and it's safe . Just don't give your private key to anyone.

From the very first reply it is clearly mentioned, that myetherwallet is the one that can give the best features as well the support for long term holding. Lot and lots of mobile based wallets have been found around, but none provides the security as well the access to store various altcoins and tokens.

Good thread and quite relevant because more and more people are obtaining more and more Tokens as the ERC20 system expands.
There are two options I am considering, Download each dedicated wallet and store each token there or MyEtherWallet which is very convenient as everything is in one wallet.

For me MEW really has to metamorphose. I don't find it secured even though a lot of bounties seek to use it and the bounty hunters are embracing it. The import this, export that, save this and all that instructions could be misleading sometimes for users. Especially those who are not tech sauvy. Again, with the MEW everyone gets to see all your tokens once they can copy and paste your public address on the MEW network. This is wrong too.

Yes almost everywhere I have heard about MEW itself when it comes to ERC 20 compatible wallet as asked by the various bounties manager or their campaign requirement fits this wallet. Also it is quite user friendly as well in terms of operating the wallet and using it.

Yeah it is better to use my ether wallet if your participating in bounties because most of the other wallets may not receive that new tokens and you will end up losing your tokens,it was happened to mw when I was newly joined in bounties not aware of erc20 based wallet but I gave the wallet address but still they didn't add that token so I never received my tokens,so it is always better to use MEW when participating bounties.
But it is best to store in the hardware wallets if you going to hold that token for long term but most of the people will sell their tokens after ICO,but it is good to hold some potential tokens to get real reap in future.

You are right better to use MEW while joining in bounty campaigns because many other ERC20 supported wallets fail to receive new tokes so you will end up losing your tokens.But as per OP request he want a wallet which can store his tokens securely in long term but he didn't mention what token he is holding but Ledger Nano S also supporting some ERC20 tokens you can visit their official website to know the list of supported coins.And MEW also a good wallet to store our cryptos for long term but we need to aware of phishing links and clone MEW website which can copy your private key and will steal all your tokens.

Myetherwallet is good. It is secure and easy to use. Avoid android or any mobile phone wallets.

I don't think so it is available if it is something on the android then it will be a scam wallet never ever store anything there then you will be scammed.

Dead question answered back multiple time. If you are looking for android base wallet. Jaxx is there. It supports few tokens in the market. Last one as I noticed they have added the Viberate token option in their wallet.
Instead of he is looking for android and desktop wallet. Everybody here sharing the MEW as a option for him. Op, if you got the answer always lock the thread to avoid the unwanted repeated answer back to back.

Mew is good for erc20 tokens but lack of security, lots of phishing attempts, you always have to look at link, if you want more security I would suggest you to use trezor wallet as highest security wallet.

As i said earlier, you can use it through desktop and android phones, myetherwallet is not a downloadable wallet. And i'm sure that this wallet is pretty safe for storing your funds, unless you share your private key, it will surely scammed. And besides, you can use it wherever you like, unlike the desktop wallet that you can only use it to somewhere that desktop or laptop are available to use.

For ERC-20 tokens I used myetherwallet. Find is the best and has never had any problems with it

I think it would be safer if you use a desktop-based other than easy and use desktop-based wallet will also detail every detail detial submissions or acceptance in comparison with android-based.

For storing the ERC 20 tokens MEW has been the best wallet because it can support all the tokens but in the wallet based on android platform doen't give all toknes storage so you need to make sure that your token is supported by that wallet or you will lose your tokens permanently.So wallet with private keys are the best to store the crypto currencies.

I have seen an article with pretty big list of wallets. But I cannot find that article now, what I remember are deinitely myetherwallet and metamask . You can try to google ethereum based wallets

I would rather Myetherwallet and Metamask , And i don't like to store my things on every where , i think just one platform is enough , it can causes risks to have it on your phone since it can be stolen , at least it is harder to have you computer stolen!

you firstly said this but you also said that you use metamask and mew , you also said that you use computer aside from phone . that simply means you arent really contented on one platform and you do like to store your things everywhere/anywhere .


I firstly use coinomi before ever since I did not discovered mew but after I tried mew , I already uninstall coinomi on my phone because coinomi do have an expensive fees when withdrawing . mew is still the best wallet for erc20 coins .

The best wallet for storing the erc20 token for long term investment is myetherewallet as it is the safest and the most reliable as long as you can keep your private key very safe and you do not disclose it to a third party.

For some websites you must have metamask to pass it through , websites like sapien , that's why i got metamask too.
