 I am thinking of distributing my portfolio, 50% I have it in BTC, the rest, I still do not know what coins to buy, so good there are, among them siacoin ...regards :)

I would stay away from Sia at the moment it is showing it doesn't have a floor and I wouldn't want to get into that alt unless there was more of an alt party happening. I like the BTC % spilt though that is good.

Siacoin exhibited a long period of decline. I do not anticipate how much the price will recover. Looking at the current situation does not make sense to buy Siocoin.

If you hold siacoin you will regret every single day. I would not recommend buying it.

I suggest not to buy Siacoin because they increase their supply few months ago so the price will hard to reach the last top price.  ;)

I would recommend staying away form most of these ALtcoins until the market sentiment change, no one is buying them as you can see from the trade volume

Well first off it will obviously help diversify your portfolio, which is priceless. Right now you only have a position in bitcoin which really is risky in this day and age where bitcoin is super duper volatile on a daily basis(sometimes more volatile than altcoins).

Secondly, it's coming off a huge rally and now is settling under 50 satoshis.

This is the time you want to buy, instead of buying when the run up was happening. Right now, it's in the accumulation/smart money phase for siacoin in my opinion. It's got a pretty good team behind it, why not stack up some while it's cheap.

The price is good for buying. There is a possibility of a pump because it is in Poloniex.

I have to agree with the gentlemen before me. I believe now is the time to buy Sia if ever. I'm down a lot of BTC investing in sia when it was around 300-450 sat but I bought some more at 50 sat just to lower my entry point, time will tell if it was a good move or not.

Dont buy Sia or you will be a bag holder like many other guys here. Sia isnt about profit. Just read some interviews with the developers.

as other have said there is no sign something big is going to happen, and given the previous choices made about the future of the project i don't see many reasons to buy

I won't buy siacoin. Lot of more option is available if one looking for investing some BTC in Alts. NEO, ETH, Binance, Walton may be good option.

I also don't want to buy sia anymore (I was enjoying it in past) Storj surpassed sia in many ways, development speed, value, partnerships... So I think storj will be better.

That's the advantage with this coin, its been added to much bigger exchange any time investors will be able to pumped as we seen
that it's still cheap and the development still young so there's a lots of chances that this project will rise in the near future.

You guys should be calculating profit upon investing too. Look how cheap SIA is and how its potential to go beyond 0.01$ so lets say you have about 50K of it now after buying at the current price. Imagine how much you could get later on with a simply price movement.

I personally would still be a bit more patient and try to keep notice of the price movements in the next couple of weeks if you're thinkin about investing.
I think 300M marketcap is not necessarily cheap for sia at the moment..

I have to agree with you on this, and not purely because I was an idiot who bought at 120 satoshis, thinking the price had floored. Even at 50 satoshis, should it even go lower to 25, you then stand a far easier climb back up to 50. Yes, the market supply increased, yes miners are dumping because they are co-mining especially with Monero and Ethereum, but Sia is one of the hedge alts. It did rally too soon, and dumped as well, while demand for the storage service has not even come in yet. You can hold significantly long without too much risk of losing it all.

i think Siacoin is a unique coin because you can use its decentralized network to store data across the world across many computers.
Siacoin had a bubble and its price is very low now but still many people like to try to buy this coin online.

All these people on this thread saying "Don't buy sia" without reason... Sia is for the long term. In Q2/Q3 their ASIC miner Obelisk will be released. I personally think the price of Sia will skyrocket in Q2 and beyond. I have a bag of Sia for the long term, not for daytrading.

Actually Siacoin is quite popular and is supposed to be reliable for investors. I have bought SIA at 56 and will hold it for no less than 90% profit, but it should go even much higher than that.

Siacoin has a great development team. Top 5 actually in the space.

It has a working platform with 100's of active hosts.

Developed ASIC miners. Sold over 2000+ Great for R&D

This. I bought some Sia in the past and I really regret it. Just don't buy if you want to make profit.

They have an interesting product but lots of competition now in Storj and Filecoin.

I'll stand aside and look, I will not buy, and I do not recommend it, but this is my opinion. I watched the video, it did not overturn my opinion.

I still think Siacoin is going to do something for us. Definitely not an exciting coin to watch day by day, but I think the concept behind this coin does offer real world value. I am hoping to see the price of this coin start to reflect that in 2018.

I think that we are very near to a huge bullish movement on altcoins. I expect it to be much bigger than the first half of this year when there was a huge bull run on alts. When this fully starts, I suppose it has already started as we can see with ripple, litecoin and ETH, we might also see SIA gain a lot of value. Its traded really cheap now and development is constantly underway, so I think its a good pick. Look at the charts for SIA and decide for yourself if now is a good entry or not!

I would also suggest REQ it has massive potential and has already started its climb.

A very strong technology base and team means it will grow fast in operations and the price will follow.

And envion looks incredibly profitable too, if they can hold true to their profitability claims that is! But as a mining profit token they are perfectly positioned to profit from the success in the whole crypto market.

And people saying to buy SIA because of the Obelisk are even more ridiculous. You think SIA value now is in the dumps? Wait until 2000+ ASICS are mining another 150k each a month. Add that to te current 31.3 BILLION SC in existence and do some math ... Price goes down, not up.

Buy SC to become a bag holder for life -- like the rest of us suckers ;)

At the current price of 60 or so satoshi I wouldn't buy SIA, olds are enjoying a nice pump but as soon as bitcoin picks up again I think SIA can drop down to 40 satoshi, of course the alternative is true that it could pump to 100 satoshi but I don't think so.

I think the developing the dapps is the next trend in crypto for 2018. Thats why very big data is to come and such project like sia will provide the storage for all that data

I would love to see Sc in 2018 mooning. Great developers and community. I know one of the Billionaires i'd know is investing this promising project. Sc is undervalued coin

When I first heard about sia I thought it was just a shitcoin like most coins out there. It turns out I was able to gain many on this than in my other altcoin investments. I say buy now while it is cheap and just wait for it to rise to the top. You will not regret it.

Store data... anywhere... anytime... instantly... globally... is a shitcoin you're right...! Or even... Host and store data and get paid for it....what a shitcoin !!
