Title: WHERE TO SPEND BTC Post by: Michele1940 on July 03, 2011, 06:49:46 PM Is there any place on the web where all merchants accepting BTC as a form of payment can actually be found and maybe advertise their offers there ?
Aside from https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade , of course. Thanks. Title: Re: WHERE TO SPEND BTC Post by: Babylon on July 03, 2011, 07:34:37 PM why aside from the wiki page? What is wrong with it?

My question is if there is any common place where merchants can offer goods accepting btc as a form of payment. Nothing else. Check this discussion please. http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=25691.0 Title: Re: WHERE TO SPEND BTC Post by: tysat on July 03, 2011, 08:12:13 PM Your argument makes no sense at all. There are lots of places you can buy goods/services with bitcoins.

Well, mine is not an argument at all. It is just a suggestion to have all merchants in one place. Easy for bitcoin's fans to find and spend they btc to give a boost to bts economy. Sorry if I did not made it clear in the first place. Title: Re: WHERE TO SPEND BTC Post by: tysat on July 03, 2011, 08:17:25 PM Your argument makes no sense at all. The wiki has a lot of places that accept BTC as payment. Do you need a list of all merchants that accept USD as payment too? Title: Re: WHERE TO SPEND BTC Post by: koin on July 03, 2011, 09:12:44 PM you just described why all the other payment systems are struggling -- the chicken and egg problem.
until you have enough consumers who want to pay using that method it is hard to convince a merchant to accept it. until you have enough merchants who accept that payment method, the consumer won't want to start using it. you don't need a directory when chances are 50% or higher that the ecommerce businesses you already use accept bitcoin. four weeks ago most consumers and merchants never heard of bitcoin. rome wasn't built in a day. Title: Re: WHERE TO SPEND BTC Post by: Gabriel Beal on July 06, 2011, 12:42:55 PM There are lots of bitcoin review sites that list merchants. Thebitcoinlist.net (http://Thebitcoinlist.net) and bitcoinsreview.com (http://bitcoinsreview.com) are two that come to mind. There are a list of these kinds of sites on the wiki as well. :)
