Title: What are your thoughts on IOTA
Post by: xbtx on December 12, 2017, 03:17:36 PM
Hello

I recently started reading about IOTA and it's benefits vs blockchain technology, mainly no TX fees and a even more decentralized by removing the miners from the equation, and it has several high-profile companies behind it.

So, what are your thoughts on this new altcoin? Is it worth investing on?

I personally do not invest in IOTA because it's market cap is already pretty high.

Asking my opinion about IOTA without asking anything about my ACY? yeah my activity token has a ticker and I just used caps to show them off. one has to wonder, did ancient aliens really visited us from outer space? or one has to wonder, did people really invested on IOTA with cash out of their bank accounts or did they bought them with BTC when price increased from $5000 to $15000? they invested Bitcoins not fiat. isn't that an artificial pump?

Still, the coin value is still pretty accessible ($4.5/MIOTA). Don't you think it will rise like Lite or Eth?

It's a perfectly legitimate argument, it's one reason I have also not considered investing in IOTA, it has a big market cap already for something that is in development. It doesn't have a huge amount of room to grow in and so many investors may choose to look elsewhere.

IOTA is very good long term investment opportunity imho. But as now there is a crazy hype around this coin. Even my dad wants to buy some now. I think we will see a correction first before we move up again.

i have heard iota be referred to as Bitcoin 2.0.   It removes the energy inefficient mining process and is capable of connecting/monetizing all IoT devices, so think 10 years ahead when your refrigerator and television are connected.  IOTA builds a platform for that....

IOTA is getting the same fud that ETH got last year before its big breakout,  I think IOTA and NEO are the best investments in the coming months.

market cap is big because all the coins are already mined, yet the value per coin is still low and has some headroom (from what I've read).
Also, since the amount of coins are a lot more than BTc it has much better scalability than BTC

People thing that IOTA has a huge marketcap but is the same as when the bitcoin was to 300$ or less. All people saying "SELL SELL SELL!". Now this people cry. BTCx50

In past July people said "Don't buy IOTA! It's very early for this crypto!". Yes, yes, July. Now this people cry. IOTA x15

Now, there are people saying "Don't buy IOTA. It's very high price". Same that Litecoin one year before. LTCx50

Do you want to be the next people crying?

In the cryptoworld there are two rules to gain:

Rule 1: Buy right now
Rule 2: HODL

I think that the coin has pretty big potential.

The promise of instant, scalable, and free transactions is obviously everything that a cryptocurrency needs at the moment. If the devolpers can continue to work on this coin and continue to update the code and improving it there is no reason why it can't be in the top 3 cryptocurrencies.

That's a big if, though. If you ar econfident that it can happen, you probably should take a gamble and invest in IOTA early, since it is indeed still quite early.

IOTA is a very good project with high potential.
if you want to hold for long time you can be rich. but if you bought above 4 usd and want a fast profit, you will probably suffer and have to exit with loss.

In my opinion this coin is unappreciated. In future can achieve a lot. I think if we invest in IOTA we can get profit after 6 weeks maybe earlier

So if there will be miners to give the decentralization of the iota network and that what already used by IOTA to verification the transaction to avoid the vulnerability? It looks to use the server to act just like miners.
A lot of discussion about that but it looks another centralized coin.

No, because every TX confirms another 2 TXs, so no miners required. From what I read they're just using a server to help in the beginning when there's few TXs, when the system starts having a good amount of TX, it will no longer require any "mining"

Yes I agree with you it good rules. However I would add the third rule: 1.vybrat good coin 2. To buy 3. To hold and then will really cry that who hasnt bought or has sold

The coin is having a very good potential as it has no transaction fee on transactions and it is more secure and faster with low confirmation finality. This makes the coin to have a promising future. The price is now $5.38, reasonable amount to collect, more investors are looking forward towards it.

I really love the idea of IOTA. I am concerned about the longevity of it as a tradeable cryptocurrency, though. It has been a little while since I dug into it even though I do have some, but with so many new things that have been and will be added to the IoT, the price of MIOTA will have to stabilize. Otherwise, trying to keep a globe of connected devices up-to-date on volatile pricing will be a hurdle that it probably won't be able to overcome. Last I heard, they were finally trying to get a third party to get their wallet working. I tried several versions, and could never get it to work. That, right there, is a big downside to holding IOTA.

With what you just post I think iota is going to be among the big things in future. I have been following it price movement from the beginning and it price seeing stable a bit. Iota has been doing well and I think it worth your investing. The decentralized coin that eliminates miner and transactions fee is going to go a long way in becoming one of the best coins.
