Why do you think Litecoin is rising so much. I heard someone talking on a podcast yesterday suggesting that Litecoin has a perfect story for being the 'new' thing that people think they can still catch on the way up, and that it will follow BTC's footsteps.
What is your opinion on Litecoin?

Pretty sure Litecoin is going crazy because of how many more new people got involved in crypto. Since BTC hit all-time highs last week (18k) a lot more people found out about it. They all searched and looked up BTC and while doing that they found coinbase to trade BTC. On coinbase, there is also litecoin and it was the cheapest so a lot of people bought it and that drove the price up.

it's a hype that's occur the same when bitcoin at @1k and ltc @100 or something. Long story short ltc price go down to 4$ and the rest become history.

Do you think that it will go up for some days more or not?

It's going crazy because there's a ton of new people who are joining crypto space and seem to find buying 1 bitcoin out of their reach so they just opt for the cheaper variant being Litecoin. Non the less it's a great coin and deserves all the attention that it's getting lately.

Interesting movements here! Could be a number of reasons but we saw LTC take off before crashing 90% so be careful if investing!

I guess new users in Coinbase/GDAX are buying it since is the cheapest one between BTC and ETH  :)

It is crazy, but it's only a recovery.
In July it was over 0.0202 BTC. After months of being dumped, now it has grown back to 0.0195BTC.
I was soo confident about Litecoin in July. I'm not anymore. I'll wait for Monero to get to 0.033BTC. If BTC will also stay this big, then I'll do my happy dance :D

I think that is about hype since there is no news. Bitcoin and litecoin are friend coins so that is hype of btc

gdax and okcoin are going crazy over it and now ether is over $600 in some places.

The price of the litecoin has not changed for a long time. The price has been 3 times more recently, and the market has become irrational.

It is something weird what's going on with all crypto currencies the last days. more than $400 for litecoin.. who could have expected?

people owning bitcoin migrating to litcoin because they are afraid of their bitcoins?

Bitcoin is the general populace's introduction to crypto, then when they delve slightly beneath the surface they discover Litecoin and Ethereum. I think there's a good chance they follow in BTC's footsteps somewhat, though probably to a lesser degree.

Heard about the founder Charlie tweet about some good news. It is time for LTC to go through some pump.

This also explains why GDAX/Coinbase lead the price and the difference in price between GDAX and other exchanges.

every analyst was predicting this rise in the prices. LTC are now trading for 310$ few days ago it was trading for 70$. I am now waiting for the dip in the prices then I will buy ltc

People transfer funds from bitcoin to other coins, Litecoin is a good option for them. I think this is one of the reasons.

"atomic swap" is the reason for this high price. Atomic swaps is the exchange of one cryptocurrency to another cryptocurrency, without the need to trust a third-party. It's the future!

LTC is just like insane today. That is we all calling "to the moon". I wonder where is the support and when will he crash down there?

We have been waiting for it to happen for long. Finally, Litecoin price has started to grow. Expecting it to continue its upward trend some time.

Pretty much my thoughts. The question is if bitcoin starts another leg up, what are the people gonna do? Do they start to buy 0.05 btc or 1 LTC? I have no idea but I think most are just looking at the price for one whole token. Therefore it could be that all the new buyers will pretty much keep LTC and ETH more growing. Anyway, I am quite happy with the moonshot of LTC, there is still a lot of ground to cover.

I have been holding Litecoin for a while now bought it a while back when price was around 50-60$ per coin been holding it since then never saw so much growth, December looks like a really good month for LTC.

A lot of newcomers are buying up LTC, ETH and BTC. This is the reason its going up so hard. Coinbase even had to shut down LTC buy/sells for a while because the traffic was to big.

Even here on forum I now see 2 good opinions. One is that BTC holders were entering the wave in LTC so we shall have rather plain BTC rate in days to follow. Reasonable but sincerely - I do not believe it. Guess MoonIsBlue is right. A lot of newcomers (despite not the mass public) are coming/returning to the market.

But that is nice. It is good for everyone I guess.

Litecoin is rising because get some partnerships, more people buy LTC (Because ETH and BTC send money very slowly) and agressive marketing

What's crazy is I started a meeting today at work and one of my employees was joking and asked the team if anyone bought Litecoin.  This is a person who's favorite show are reality shows about housewives.  Took my by surprise.  That's the sign that we're in a bubble... stay tuned!!!

I think it happens because Litecoin got partnership with Steam.

This is probably because BTC and ETH is on the rise now, investors look for a trusted alternative coin to invest on and then there's LTC with just $100 price few days ago so I guess that's the reason of the pump. I don't know the history of Litecoin but hopefully what happened last time where its price goes down to a rate you can't imagine which is circulating on the crypto world won't happened again.

Litecoin really surprised. This is my best investment for 2017. But I continue to keep it because I consider it very stable and stable to market fluctuations.

Recently, we can see a lot of old coins are pumping, the BTC, LTC, ETH, ripple and so on. I think that is a signal of hot crypto market. Other altcoins will pump soon in my opinion.

I'm also surprised that Litecoin can beat the coins that currently fall into the popular category of BTG, with prices rising drastic. This will lead to speculation that litecoin can beat BITCOIN.

Litecoin is around for a long time already and it has proven itself, just like Bitcoin. In my opinion it totally deserves to be valued at these prices. To be honest it should have been valued like this even before.
My guess is that this is only the beginning of the bullrun on altcoins and that we might see LTC at much higher levels soon.
Im glad that I held on to the few Litecoins that I own, I will still continue to hold them!

Charlie Lee, the founder of LTC is a good leader. He is very down to earth and very approachable that gives him a huge community and supporters.
Vitalik Buterin of ETH, and Roger Ver of BCH apparently following this path.

The Litecoin has grown high all the sudden. This has made it reach a bigger capital market, also the trading volume for the same has increased bigger and bigger. Most probably the growth will continue, as this doesn't looks like a manipulated growth.

Its bevause of thw recent BTC and ETH network congestions,and slowing transactions thats why litecoin suddenly rockets.

Litecoin will be one of the few cryptocurrencies which will survive when the market will be stabilized. I am sure that Litecoin will walk within 2018 without big falls. Quite possible that this currency keep growing.

It did not go that crazy... We are waiting for it to moon maybe to 400 but still not decided  :)

I don't know, if that are fake news, but I heard, that litecoin would get very soon its own future market.
Also the big run of Bitcoin and the possibility to buy litecoin still cheaper than BTC and ETH in an easy way and its fast and cheap transfers may have resulted the sudden growth of LTC.

I think Litecoin is #3 crypto after BTC and ETH. It's trustworthy enough and has a nice price rate. I'd recommend you to invest in it.

Well litecoin has been around for a very long time as a matter of fact.  So I am not really surprised that it is increasing.  I was wondering when it would to be honest with you.  They even have their own forum and nice friendly team.  Litecoin was also suppose to be the silver of bitcoin, is possible since there are new people that are into crypto are buying it because they read that somewhere on google.

Do you think so? This coin is now really on the rise, maybe it will last in the top three for a while, but I met information that the price could collapse in the near future.

What was this hype about? Is there news or rumors, updates?  :) Should be something or just whales pumping?

The market is manipulated every day and that's normal, I am not surprised Litecoin rise in price, it's a long-term trusted currency. I had a long time ago but didn't decide to keep, reason was simple I had for over 12 months and the price was flat so didn't want to keep it, was disappointed and even now will cost 1000$ not interested to buy anymore!. This is a beauty about crypto world, its heavy manipulated by whales and absolutely unpredictable, you never know what and when go moon and rise in price x2 - x10 current price. I wish all best to Litecoin holders but this train is not for me.

I think there are a lot of coins which have potential to reach good prices, and I think also litecoin have that potential too. There are many people who are new in the cryptocurrency world, and they may have taken some litecoin.

Is now a good moment to buy Litecoin? which price is ok? Thank you!!
