The best strategy is always to diversify, so pick a few altcoins you like after researching a lot about them then throw a bit of money in each of them ^^

Best strategy when you are late into buying promising coin is to buy in batches. You should schedule your buying in such a way that you are only buying the deep. If you consistently buy the deep, you may have better portfolio than those who take early position in such coin!

The best one is only known after the fact. Diversifying should be safer, but with uncertainty there's no such thing a safe bets for most of us.

Make a list of coins with great potential to grow research on them and then invest, you can invest money according to the project I would suggest investing in multiple alt-coins rather than investing all your money into one project.

In few words, if you are not a professional trader - there are two ways.
Long term investments and short term. Short term are mostly for professionals or if you know how to buy/trade on exchanges and if you have time to supervise coins 24/7. You need to buy them cheap while price is increasing in short terms and sell them on the top, before their price fall.
Long term strategy is to make an investigation of for example top 20-25 crypto currencies by market cup and then choose the best one for you. The best ones I mean the coins which are perspective. Then buy them and hold.

Even though altcoins are very low right now, you just want something to outperform BTC. Otherwise, it would be wiser to invest in BTC in the first place. Catching good altcoins at the moment is very hard because of the immense rise of BTC. So take your time for research, use stop-loss and right now in this kind of market sentiment I am not a fan of the hodl for life strategy. If you make good profits like x5 take some of it out that you have actual profits in USD or BTC.

My personal tip, I really don't like midcaps. They just crash every time BTC moves up or down. Big market caps have suffered a lot recently and maybe its their turn now, although I think they will suffer a bit more. The low market cap coins, also called shitcoins, is where I personally made the most profit. They are much less coupled to BTC but are a bigger risk to take.

Do not forget about stop-loss orders. And you should move them up while the price is going up.

The only best working strategy is buy at low and sell at high. and hodl until you are in profit.

If you are very late though you can't know if you are very late, the best thing is not entering in the first place.

I think it is best to sell high, buy low. Most important thing is not to buy a lot of coins. It is important to distribute among the top 10.

Diversify risks! Do not forget that most of your portfolio should be bitcoin-this is the basis. Fix a profit from time to time. Good luck! ;)

I think it's never too late to invest in altcoin. although the altcoin price is very expensive. altcoin will continue to rise if many requests occur. you just need to wait for a better price. even if you buy altcoin at an expensive price. and waiting is the best way to get results from your altcoin.

When I "entered to late into altcoin" and it is not a shitcoin, I just keep it on longterm. All cryptocurrencies on first ranks on market cap show an amazing history. Nearly all (except ZCash) have a rise for months an even years like Dash, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple and even Dogecoin.

All depends on whether you are a long terms trader or short terms. Although even if you are of either long or short trader , diversification of your investment capital into different investment opportunities in altcoins is the best as compared to put all your egg.

It may be too late for Bitcoin (I don't know), but it's never too late for altcoins. ;D
Ardor, Waves and BitShares for example.

There are no best strategies when you come late. Sometimes, it would be better to never enter if you miss a huge pump. Crypto trading is not like FIAT trading where you can easily identify entry and quit points. Best strategy is to follow carefully crypto news and try to invest in promising projects

Best strategy it will be Diversity and make sure you go small at first. Good advice invest at least 50% in BTC even is a small fraction of one, it will be still profitable that for sure, so anytime you check a part of your portfolio will be on the plus and may cover some losses from alts. Make sure you don't invest in alternative crypto more than you can lose. Good luck, if you can't decide what to buy ask here on forum.

Search coins for long-term investing and add some not that big money for daily trading (if you want) just for practicing.
Made a core of your portfolio with a coins from top-100 (around 50%), 30-40% for great projects with small cap, and 10-20% for just_added_coins/tokens which, in your opinion, can make nice X.

You're not late... you're only late relative to those who are already here. In a few months' time, you'll be one of the early ones. I started in April, and at the time I was late :)
For trading I'd say don't rush things, make logical and reasoned decisions, time your entry point properly and don't exit too late. Try to keep emotions out of it as best you can, no FOMO or panic selling.
For coin split I'd say always keep a good proportion of bitcoin, a lot of top alts and a few more high-risk choices.

Do yout own research and only invest in good coins. Don't fall into the trap of trying to chase the daily 100% pump - the odds are stacked against you and unless you're one of the few lottery winners, you'll end up losing money in the long run.

Hello. I second what my fellow poster said, in the beginning i thought it is all too easy. Just chase the pump and exit early dont get greedy. But you have to sit in front of the computer 24/7, sometimes you make mistakes and hold some shitcoin (and hope it pumps again)
Do your own research, read a lot and stick to the top 100 per marketcap and get a got feeling. Buy and hold is much better

Cheers

If you joined to some coin and the price went down you should just wait. All altcoins from top-50 grow after a few weeks or months. You do not need to sell and receive losses. You must be very patient not to make any harmful actions. But always remember - buy low, sell high.

I would say don't think about it in terms of catching up - that will lead you towards making hasty or reckless decisions. If you are trading, you need to be calm and logical, and try not to make decisions due to emotions, FOMO and panic.

If you know you're already "late" as you say, i think the question is whether or not to still "enter" into the altcoin isn't it? If your answer is because you are confident of its potential future value, then you should again already know the answer to your question. You enter late because you believe its future value will rise, so you simply HODL the coin and wait for its value to rise.

The best strategy is do not enter the market if it run fast or very fast. Ot is going to be late then you put your investment capital in the risk which can eat your money just in short time. So dont be late.

Yes, the diversification and patience are the main components to be succeed at this market. If you have a drawdown just relax and take it easy. And here is one more rule: "Never invest in cryptos more than you can afford to lose and always try to keep them in your own wallet!"

you can took the risk and but those altcoin but you can also wait for it a little while but if you are a risk taker why not buy those promising one altcoin and spend some money on it so you can get the profits from in later on

the main thing is not to sell less if the coin is traded to btc and you are in the red (as most of the coins now) , and against the usd you are in + then sell and pour in more promising, if not yet in positive territory to put order on something that will grow and sell! until you sell you are in - !

When you were seeing the altcoins gets rekt. It should become the best time for your to invest in the altcoin. There's no reason to not to late to invest in the altcoin. Because the important thing about the timing to invest in the altcoin. majority of newbies are rushing to buy altcoin at peak and that makes a lot of newbies are losing a lot in the altcoin. The correction should become very best time too.

In reality, no one can tell whether you are late or not. The market is very vague and changing very quickly.
Invest 50% of your capital in alcoins with a large capitalization, and the other half in altcoins for a long time.

Best strategy is to research first and study all about altcoins then choose which altcoins is promising or which alt is continuously increasing until now. Try also to invest to more one alts so that you can earn more profit. And I think you are not late because you can still invest on it although not the same price before because it is increasing, you can still earn profit when you hold it for a long term because the price will still rise up more.

What kind of catch up? I always do some analysis first before buying alt and sell it if the target is reached. If the price somehow goes down, then set some stop loss. Maybe what you mean is investing, because you can always lower your average price by buying more when the price is down.
