Title: A n00b guide on starting a mining pool? Post by: Damnsammit on July 16, 2013, 07:16:27 PM One of my friends is a web developer and I want to get some good information on this to approach him with.
I have absolutely no clue how hard it is to set one up and maintain, but it seems like knowledge that I want... Yes I've already Googled but it just keeps bringing up general mining information and not the set-up of the pool website. Where to begin? Any good links? Thanks in advance. Many people have started their own pool from scratch by asking around on this forum - that's what a forum is for - getting help. Nobody knows anything until they ask, that's how knowledge is obtained. I suggest you keep asking around the forums, amongst the nay-sayers you will get some very good advice - good luck. I'm looking to open one for an alt-coin that I think has potential, but I need to find out some of the information before approaching my friend about it. Simplecoin or mmfce are opensource front ends, stratum is a solid back end although pushpool still works with most alt coins. you just got more help to set up your pool than I did with mine don't expect to "set and forget" a pool - it is a 24/7 job if you want to do it well and you or your mate had better be really good at securing websites, attacks and hacking attempts are just about daily occurences for pools Title: Re: A n00b guide on starting a mining pool?
