Title: question regarding Electrum wallets
Post by: edbrown1948 on December 13, 2017, 02:11:59 AM

Does electrum support wallets for Lietcoin and ethereum as well as BTC?  If so, is it the same software or do I need multiple instances of Electrum running - one for the BTC wallet, another for LTC, and yet another for ETH?
If i only need one instance of Electrum, I presume I'll have to establish a wallet for each coin.

These are probably newbie questions but that's only because I are one!

Thank you.

the developers of Electrum have never released any wallet for any other altcoins.
but Electrum is an open source project, and anyone who can and wants can simply fork it and create an alternative for an altcoin.
and they have done it for Litecoin but never for Ethereum.

fork for Litecoin: https://github.com/pooler/electrum-ltc

as i said, it is a different software released by some one else. you need to run a different software. they have not interfered with each other as i have tested Electrum-ltc and Electrum-RDD before.
and they will have different wallet files which you have to backup separately (back up Seed or wallet file).

the version for bitcoin cash is a little different. the only difference is that it copies all your bitcoin wallets to its own repository and creates the new wallet for bitcoin cash based on them.
