Really a nice project with wonderful and unique concept. Liked it specially the youtube video. Its worth investing in an ICO like this. When are you going to launch the bounty program? I just saw that we can stake the tokens. So what are the benefits for the token holders? When are you going to list this in exchanges?

By only read your four key features, has already made me interested with this platform. I'm going to do more research about this. This is really interesting.

I think the concept is very unique, I will always monitor this project and see its development if indeed the concept of this project can be good maybe many people and potential investors will join this project later in the future.

1. Bounty program: we'll launch the Zipper bounty very soon, aiming in a day or two.

2. Staking tokens: we're planning to build Zipper platform's app store/app discovery as a curation market. This means that you can stake ZIP tokens to make a certain app more visible/easier to discover in the user interface. If this app then becomes more popular, you will receive more ZIP tokens as a reward (or you can also lose your stake if the app becomes less popular). This model would incentivise developers to add their apps to the platform and back them, and users to back and promote the apps they like. We're still tuning the model as the curation market is a very novel concept in the cryptocurrency space.

3. Listing: ZIP token becomes tradable when we launch the Zipper platform. Current estimate for launch is March 2018.

Yes, it's very important that we're able to offer Zipper for people across different price points. Actually, we see the biggest potential for blockchain based services in the emerging markets, where people are not locked in to the current legacy systems such as banks.

As a further background, we know from experience that offering your own OS to ODMs and OEMs is an extremely hard sell. Firstly, smartphone manufacturers and vendors want to control the user experience (look and feel, pre-installed apps etc.) of their devices. Secondly, working with a new OS requires a significant engineering effort from the manufacturers.

Thus, for device manufacturers to adopt a new OS, the business case has to significant (read: it should bring them tens of millions of new customers). You can think it also this way: excluding Apple, how many of the top 30 smartphone brands globally are using other OS than their own customised Android?

Our approach is a bit different: instead of trying to replace the OS, Zipper aims to co-exist with it. This way, device manufacturers can still use the OS of their choice, and enhance it with Zipper and its value-adding features. End-users will get the best of both worlds. Moreover, for the manufacturers, pre-installing Zipper experience to their devices will be almost as easy as pre-installing a normal app; a much more lightweight process than adopting a totally new mobile operating system.

For the past year, we've been building the core components of the system such as digital identity management and containerisation. We're aiming to launch the first version of the platform in March 2018.

In our pre-sale, contributors who contribute at least 5 ETH will receive a Sony Xperia X smartphone with this first version of Zipper platform pre-installed, in addition to ZIP tokens.

Yes, our pre-sale is ongoing, with a $3M hard cap.

Pre-sale price: 1 ZIPT = 0.03 USD.

There are total of 1 billion ZIP tokens, of which max 100 million (10%) will be sold in the pre-sale.

Moreover, each pre-sale contributor gets a 30% bonus, which is distributed during the following 9 months after the pre-sale. Please see more in our website.

The details of the main sale are not defined yet (schedule, pricing etc). However, the 30% bonus is available only for pre-sale contributors.

I would like to know when this operating system will be released so that we can try it out. This operating system working on the blockchain I think will work wonders for the users and the crypto economy as well. So I wish the company all the success it needs for it to prosper.

Why did you choose to co-exist rather than completely isolate your operating system, I wonder if companies like the google and microft will let you do that and that can arise to many issues and bugs because co-exixting or combining two operating system is quite hard. So this is just like a swithcher app? Where you can switch what operating system will you choose to use.
IMHO, I think if you can accumulate a decent budget it is better to ake your own, very own operating system, not just co-exist with other O.S.

For the reasons mentioned above. We could build an own independent OS, but it would be very difficult to scale it to hundreds of millions of daily users. We know this industry pretty well and have been down that road before (built our own devices + OS and partnered with ODMs & OEMs).

From go-to-market point of view, we see it more feasible to tap into the existing 2+ billion Android users from day 1. Our aim, after all, is to provide people around the world as easy and safe access to blockchain based services as possible.

In the future, Zipper might evolve to a full-blown OS, providing all the daily services a user might need. But it'll take some time to get there, and we believe that aiming to provide core decentralized services to millions of current smartphone users in an easy and safe way is a good start :)

It is nice idea. But I think you might to have a very aggressive marketing to shift people from other OS to yours. People are addicted to Android and iOS mostly. Not much people will use your OS just by themselfs.

Hi, yes - that's why we're making our solution compatible with Android. This means that manufacturers and end-users can still continue using Android of their choice, but Zipper will be a separate, isolated "everyday hardware wallet" in their phones which Android don't have access to.

It really differs per project. Some allocate 5% to contributors, some more than 90%.

Our token allocation breakdown:
10% pre-sale
15% main sale
40% ecosystem incentives
20% team & advisors (2-year vesting)
15% Zipper Global Ltd

Instead of grabbing as much as funds as possible from contributors by selling most of the tokens, we see it much more future-proof to
1) raise only the amount we need through token sales,
2) reserve highest portion (40%) to incentivise different parties to join and strengthen the Zipper ecosystem: developers, community, and partners.

If we would sell all of our tokens in token sales, we wouldn't have anything left to build the actual ecosystem (which is crucial for contributors). Our aim was to find the best balance between raising enough funds to get the ecosystem started, reserving enough tokens to incentivise the ecosystem participants, and also reserving enough tokens for the current and future team to have strong enough incentives to build the agenda for the years to come.

one of the projects of choice to become an investor. it's really a project that makes software on a smartphone based on blockchain. the project is well organized and its bounty campaign is also easy to work on. not complicated and the conditions are also not difficult. certainly a lot of investors and bounty hunter who are interested in this project.

The project kept the amount of hardcap low. But I think that this move is better for the project, because the project is not in the promises that can not be realized like other projects. Unexpectedly the project has been completed in a very fast time within 2 weeks of this project has been met by investors. maybe this project is already ogled by many investors so that the project finished quickly. hopefully time tokennya in exchange can get a very good price so as not to disappoint the investors.

Though a few days ago I had a glance at this project and plan to join the bounty campaign but I was also very surprised with the news that says the project is successful faster than the time specified.

It is a great idea and an inevitable trend in the future that the ZIpper can move the block chain to the only mobile phone, and the project of this concept is worth looking forward to.

It's still very early days, and many are fortunately working to solve the scaling issue. For Ethereum and ERC20 token transactions, we've high hopes for Plasma end of this year. And in general we're blockchain agnostic: it's up to the dapps on top of the Zipper platform to choose which blockchain they want to use under the hood.

How are you guys planning on developing all this, i mean from a technology stack? I know many of you are probably comfortable writing Qt 😉 most of the stuff on github is just plain JS/HTML which always implies not being as smooth as a more native approach

You should never love your own tools too much. Sometimes the tool you love isn't the right tool for the purpose.

There's a reason, though, for it being JS/HTML - we don't want our end users to even install an app to receive ETH or tokens. It should feel closer to magic - like when you open up Google Docs while having a Google Account.

JS/HTML doesn't imply it won't be smooth, or not a good experience, or not secure. PWA's do a hell lot to make the experience better.

I have received the zipper token but I don't know where zipper token exchange and this seems token will be a good investment in the future.

Zipper token is still lock until April 30 and devs can't give exact time for the exchanger since they are focus on product development. BTW, Zipper already rebrand into Zippie if ever you receive ZIPT token and. See that it has a different name. The project has a lot of potential and I salute for the devs on deciding to not launch an ICO to protect the value of token.

It has already listed and trading is very alive. Check out ZIPT on bancor.network exchange. I know it's not a simple and normal exchange but this exchange really good regarding liquidity matters. I don't get it why this project is so underrated. They have achieved a lot and will release their product in a few months which could lead to mass adoption in the US community.
