Title: Unconfirmed transID not appearing in block?
Post by: elmonoloco on December 13, 2017, 12:59:18 PM
Hello

I have an unconfirmed transaction 1fb23aa512548150be1a3014afa635e08f036d80c892d63784f77a032c494f09 which is heading to wallet ID 1Ax2T9y5N77VMBvsSvDNLqrh81BKqwpaSq. After a couple of days stuck I sent through more BTC though to the wallet to 'speed' it up, however the smaller transaction has gone through but not the original.

I went into the block ID and was not able to find the wallet ID in all my searches by wallet ID.

Could someone tell me how to get this money through please.?

Thanks

You didn't mention which wallet you were using, but it's not clear as well what exactly you're asking for. Your unconfirmed transaction is still in the mempool, at just above 50 sats/byte, it will be around 24 hours before you get a chance of confirmation, but as the mempool is slowly bloating up again, expect this to take much longer. So your receiving and sending addresses are still there to refer to: https://blockchain.info/tx/1fb23aa512548150be1a3014afa635e08f036d80c892d63784f77a032c494f09

Also, to clarify, you sent a 2nd tx "to speed up the first". Was this intended to be a CPFP tx? You have to do one, with the CPFP to include fees for the first unconfirmed tx - and then both are confirmed together if you include enough fees.

You don't speed up transactions by sending more.

Hello

I have an unconfirmed transaction 1fb23aa512548150be1a3014afa635e08f036d80c892d63784f77a032c494f09 which is heading to wallet ID 1Ax2T9y5N77VMBvsSvDNLqrh81BKqwpaSq.

The wallet that you used to send the transaction did not set a high enough transaction fee.  If that is something you can configure, you should fix it so you don't have this problem again in the future. If that is NOT something that you can configure, then you should choose a new wallet for future transactions.

After a couple of days stuck I sent through more BTC though to the wallet to 'speed' it up, however the smaller transaction has gone through but not the original.

If you want to send a transaction that pays for the earlier transaction to "speed it up", then you need to spend the bitcoins that were received at address 1Ax2T9y5N77VMBvsSvDNLqrh81BKqwpaSq in transaction 1fb23aa512548150be1a3014afa635e08f036d80c892d63784f77a032c494f09. You also need to make sure that the additional transaction pays a high enough transaction fee to pay for BOTH unconfirmed transactions.

I went into the block ID and was not able to find the wallet ID in all my searches by wallet ID.

Correct.  The definition of a "confirmed" transaction is: A transaction that is in a block in the blockchain.  Therefore, if your transaction is still unconfirmed, that means that it is not in a block yet.

Could someone tell me how to get this money through please.?

Wait and hope.

or

Create a CPFP transaction and include a high enough fee.

or

Resend the original transaction with a higher fee (also known as a RBF transaction)

or

Contact a miner (or mining pool) and ask them to confirm it for you (they may require that you pay them a fee for providing that service).

Yes you can increase fee for the transaction to increase the confirmation speed. Normally miners would prefer to include the transactions with the highest fees first. These fees are calculated according to the size of the transaction. Your wallet/ exchange may help you to increase fee considering the size of the transaction.

It's been confirmed already.
