Title: [AUCTION CANCELED] 2011 Casascius 1BTC "Casacius" Single Error
Post by: VoluntaryMan on December 13, 2017, 01:55:02 PM
Just gave ANACS a call and apparently Rae didn't know what she was talking about. Crypto grading is still going strong. As such I'm going to cancel this auction until I can get the coin graded as I originally wanted.

Sorry if this is an inconvenience to anyone, feel free to message me if you'd like to get notified when I post this up again.

Original Post:
I have a fully funded 2011 single-error Casascius physical brass Bitcoin. It has been in a coin sleeve since I purchased it as a gift at a festival back in 2012.

ANACS is no longer grading these so I haven't been able to get it graded. Slight tarnishing/patina on the non-hologram side.

Fully funded with 1BTC, 1BCH, and all other relevant alts. (https://casascius.uberbills.com/?address=1AGjijcJaiHVDZPQX8769VtWLuEfgJmnEa)

I'll figure out an agent of escrow with the buyer when the auction ends (likely minerjones if they're willing to help). Auction will be open for exactly 1 week starting when this post goes up and starts at 1.2BTC. Escrow fees will be split 50/50.

Happy to take additional pictures/ answer questions.

As is customary, please use photos with a piece of paper containing your username and the date next to the item.  For an account without much history, this is especially important if you want to get the most value out of it.

Source on your ANACS  statement?  I received coins back from them just two weeks ago.

Photos with today's date and your username please.

Email exchange with Rea Williams (at ANACS) I just had the other day Dec 7th:

I do apologize for any inconvenience.  I was just informed by my supervisor that we are temporarily suspending the Physical Cryptocurrency service until further notice.  Thank you for contacting ANACS and please don’t hesitate to let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with!

If anyone can recommended a good alternative I might postpone this auction until I can get professional grading performed but I haven't found any services as reputed as ANACS has been in the community.

That's 100% bullshit. I've sent 3 large orders in all crypto in the past 3 days and all have been accepted. You must be getting scammed or something, Lol.... :P Can you post the email headers/source?

I can't imagine how it could be a scam considering that their message was basically "can't help you, have a nice day."
Not to mention that I looked up the email address on their website when I contacted them...
I guess I could give them a call tomorrow to confirm... Here's the full message source with my info redacted:

I thought you were asking for the header for some reason.
I've edited my post to include the entire source with only my name and email redacted.

So... What is your point? We all know they only insure it up to 100 bucks outbound to you. What's the problem? If you can't trust ups restricted delivery in the us, you have bigger issues lol. I sent a coin worth of 15k there and back just last month. LOL... :P

If that was the case don't you think they'd have just said so? I asked if they'd allow my order to be shipped by UPS and then was told they were suspending cryptocurrency grading... I'll update tomorrow morning when I can call them.
