Title: How do you find new cryptocurrencies before they take off?
Post by: thesoupiest on December 14, 2017, 03:59:52 AM
Hi everyone! I'm thesoupiest and will make no bones about my general ignorance of cryptocurrency on the whole. While I have purchased and traded it a few times and currently have some money in litecoin, I have little to no understanding of how cryptocurrency works whatsoever.

Anyway, I'm here to ask about how to find cryptocurrencies with a potential for explosive growth before they actually hit that stage. I regret buying into litecoin at 311 and not around 90, but it's that kind of growth I'm looking for. Just today a friend brought Iota, MonaCoin, and Vertcoin to my attention, and in examining their price histories on coinmarketcap.com, each of these coins had a very low valuation until just recently, multiplying in price by a factor of four or even eight or sixteen depending on how early you'd hypothetically bought them.

I'm trying to find the next cryptocurrency that'll balloon like that and buy a whole mess of it before it does. How do I go about finding such potential cash cows? I appreciate your taking the time to read this and thank you for any advice you can offer. See you around!

I think there are lot of potential Coins out there but mostly price rise occure because of pump and dump groups. So i suggest u to purchase and trade only top coins in market which are in top 20 and hold. Patience is key to success in crypto so buy and hold for at least a month to get good gain

It is isn't hard always now normally the most important thing firstly is have a twitter account and don't forget to follow most of the top coins whenever any new listing is going to happen or any important partnership they tease it on their twitter when you see such a news buy the coin.

Another way is reading their roadmap or whitepaper there are always many hints in it which many miss to read it. Because of this you can enter way before the news is official.

I just fill up airdrops which are given for free. Then when I'm qualified, that's the the I get those free crypto tokens for free and then hold them for good until they moon.

I find cryptocurrency to have an update before they take off.  There are also rumors about something before they pump the coins.  I am certain that anything from crypto needs to have  a hype before the price goes up.  I have witnessed it several times in different cryptocurrency and trader should be keen about this kind of events.

You can search around on this forum, look through the top 100 coins or go to a ICO calendar site like token market. Then you actually have to do the research yourself and evaluate the coin. Which is why investing is not as easy as everyone makes it.

Usually I get to know about them in airdrop section or you can find them in announcement sections.

By research, then using your knowledge to judge and most importantly, have some luck and the courage to hold on :) . No one has a crystal ball that can to tell you which coin would be a huge success.

Learn also to read charts, it's a lot to study but it will give you an idea of the market. The are many people on twitter that are trading cryptos and is good to follow them to understand the potential of some cryptos

To forecast this is not possible, almost :)
It is necessary to buy several coins at once, which potentially (graphs, news ,road map) can take off.
Those that fall, you will sell, leaving in the portfolio profitable.

For me I first find cryptocurrencies as a foreign object that i failed to grasp and comprehend the scope of it. Cryptocurrency is something that people when it was just starting people just imagined it was digital chips or echanges now they’re branding t the currency of the future

Before to start trading on cryptomarket -you have to go through basic fundamental training, so you will able  do simple analysis of situation. You should join Twitter, Slack , Medium and other other multimedia, to follow news and predict possible growth of any coin. So, technical analysis is important too, but in crypto market it works not in some case.

Predicting which coins or tokens will rise in the next few days, weeks or even months seems almost impossible. Many of those who surge in value waited for so long before they got their chance to 'moon' and many got even impatient and sold their holdings before the pump. In the world where pump and dump can still rule the day, the only way to know what can happen is if you are a part of the pumping group or have some access to what they are doing. In other words, it is all about hit and miss system and some wishing power.

However, you can evaluate the project of its chance to grow in the future. Look for a project with good idea, something that is really filling a recognized need or a niche in the bigger market. projects which are not offering something unique may not be able to make it in the long run and will just die a natural death leaving many investors holding empty bags. It happened to me before and I would hate it if it can also happen to you. There are now many sites evaluating projects in cryptocurrency, look for them and see what these experts can be analyzing with a certain crypto project. Also don't forget to factor the available and circulating supply of the project...generally the lesser is the supply the higher is the chance to go upwards (though this not a fixed guarantee). The development and management team must be capable and active on what they are doing. There are now many dead coins and tokens because the devs had already left a long time ago and just abandoned the project to drift into the cryptocurrency sea.

Near about same story here, was thinking about investing in Litecoin when it was at $40 to $50 dollars. But it rallied till $100 and retraced back to $80 and traded there for a while, just missed the opportunity to double the investment even at that point.

For me, it’s really hard to predict the price spurt of any crypto-currency. Though we what we can do is through research about the coin and its future prospect potential, on which the coin is going to be in limelight in coming days.

If there was a perfect strategy to predict a coin or ICO like that, then people would keep that a secret. In most likelihood most

coins succeed when the developers behind it, aggressively market the coin and also arrange with some merchants to accept it

as a payment option. {effectively creating a demand and a use case for it} Let's say for instance the developers can arrange

with Blizzard to accept it as a payment option and to include it as a cross platform in-game currency, then it will succeed.  ;D

Yes, https://coinmarketcap.com/ is a good site. On it, you can track the appearance of new coins. In the Markets section, you can see where these coins are sold. The problem is that you have to be registered on many trading floors.
Bittrex does not register me and I can not buy coins on it.  ???
Read more news about new coins, this will help in the right choice. Best regards.  ;)

i watch for the pumps.
it usually starts with a news that can cause the pump. something like when they are listed on a new exchange or do something about their coin like adding a feature. it may be completely meaningless sometimes but it works good enough for a pump!

then it also is obvious with the initial price rise and the increase in the volume. it never hurts to check the social media to see what is going on.

and most importantly when you see everyone is talking about that coin and telling you how good it is and how you should buy it, that is your signal for selling because it is already too late.

It is very difficult to find this except you know some traders that hold the highest top traded coin and see what coin they intend to pump money into. some time I personally believe price of some coin are personally being influence by some dev. which the same happen to some token as well. token that long been dump will just pump up sometime 10x of initial amount. all these make me wonder maybe cryptocurrency are completely decentralized as they are being said to be.

COin;s price varies with two  major factors, technical analysis which you can learn in investopedia and second fundamental analysis which you can get from the news.
