Title: WAVES on being the fastest blockchain in the world?
Post by: Talbot49 on December 14, 2017, 07:11:49 PM
Hey guys,

I'm not a tech guy at all, so I wanted to get your opinion on the recent tweet of WAVES: https://twitter.com/wavesplatform/status/941324329773649920

Scrolling through the comments, alot of people seem to think that it's a lie, even with the activation of the NG algorithm..

I invested in Waves after reading on various places how promising it was, but to make such a big statement when it's not true doesn't seem that wise to me..

Also they have removed their message on their support site about putting ETH withdrawal on hold, but it is still impossible to withdraw.

And the price is dropping too.

Yall still bullish on WAVES?

Waves are a big marketing bubble. This is not quite a decentralized exchange and it is not the fastest blockchain in the world. But people believe in official statements and buy.

Well people don't seem to buy it that much these last days even with the claims they make.. They say they are starting to process ETH withdrawal again now, which is good.. they don't have the fastest withdrawal process in the world though that's for sure  :-\

Could someone explain to me all the fuzz about WAVES? Did all the interest purely come about because of an official statement?

From what I heard they have real potential to become a real player in the crypto world and you can create your own tokens very easily, their exchange platform is great too, you can lease your coins for mining and receive little % of it.. I invested a decent amount on those coins but in the last days their team just looked a little goofy to me which I don't like to see because team behind a coin is a major factor.. They may be working on some bigger issues then simple withdrawals and stuff though I guess so I don't really know what to think

They started to buy waves a few weeks ago, maybe a few days ago, waves was not a big project, only that a lot of newbies are suggesting to invest in waves because they claim it to be the "next eth"

Waves are a big marketing bubble. This is not quite a decentralized exchange and it is not the fastest blockchain in the world. But people believe in official statements and buy.

waves is fast, but it will never be the fastest blockchain because they are not even nearly to be it.

And the recent pump is just an iluttion, now it is at $12,80 each waves, it will keep going down, there is no reason to see this increase, it is just a huge fomo.

I have read great promises since waves was in its initial stages, but to be honest I see that time goes by and waves is still promising to be the best of all the altcoins and to date that has not happened.

I even can observe that gradually has been displaced by new altcoins that do present interesting developments without much publicity. Waves has a long time that stopped being top-10, and I do not think it will come back soon.

WAVES is interesting, decentralized wallet and exchange but why the fastest? There are different tokens what are very very fast! DASH or ripple for example that are so fast

This is a very good thing of the Waves. This may be the reason why Waves has risen back after a long period of decline in the crypto market due to the impact of bitcoin. With its good technical background, Waves will become the world's fastest blockchain and its position will be confirmed.

I'm holding an amount of Waves but i don't think they have the fastest transactions. Many altcoins have instant transaction.

If you have WAVES - do not rush to sell them after negative news or price reduction, As I also think this coin is promising and promising. This is my personal opinion.

Yall still bullish on WAVES?

There is no reason to be bearish in waves. With waves NG update, the blockchain will be extremely fast, maybe the fastest one ever. This will make the price even higher than $14-15 in the near future, I'm sure.

I'm supporting and buying waves.

They didnt say it was the case now though.. they claim it will be on 22nd december.

We will see I guess, I'll keep holding on to them until 2018 and see what happens.

Waves can be interesting, but in my opinion, unpromising. They go very long and their cost is incomparable with bitcoins and even with ether.

I dont know how true this is, but i do know that Waves is one such coin one must invest in for a long term owing to its recent developments. I have no doubts that it would be a strong Ethereum contender in 2018.

They include crowdfunding which ethereum doesnt. They also operate on a proof of stake algorithm as opposed to ethereum's proof of work. So, could you pls state how it is incomparable with ether. I'm talking about long term value here, not current prices.

This wave is quite interesting, but until now there has been no development with the wave. Perhaps with the news "the fastest blockchain in the world" will bring progress on the wave, so investors are interested in the waves. We will see, in the future, waves can develop or not. hopefully waves can develop like ETH

I guess that Universa with around 15000 transactions per second (which were declared at their WP) will become the fastest blockchain ever.

I have joined into DEX exchange platform from Waves and try to buy ETH yesterday but they got an error on ETH transactions something like network error, the rest are ok. So i guess they are not yet fully stabilised on their system, they need have a massive influx of transactions to test their limits before they claim they are the fastest blockchain.

Waves has more than doubled in value in the last few weeks and the new protocol has not even been released yet. You can expect it to rise up like ethereum did, better get some now before you can only buy half a wave ;D

Wave's new agreement has not been released, of course, we can look forward to it. However, wave speed is not the fastest. Many TOKEN ETH above have a lot of interesting agreement, maybe you can go and see.

The strength of marketing is great, Waves is a great currency with good speed, but it has a lot of updating to be faster in the world, okay? It has excellent quality, a promising currency, but after the launch of the new protocol we will have new arguments. But so far it's pure marketing.

Yeah it is a buble when will you see many fiat gateway on wavesplatform it will change the world.

The codes about ng protocol realesed on github you can check it. it is not a lie. They already did a stress test and 100 tx in sec is certain that can reach. They can make it higher like 1000tx /sec.

I watched the last half a year that Waves fell and fell, very little lifted and it did not show steady growth. The situation has changed dramatically lately. We see growth, we see news and prospects for further development. This tweet gives you hope that Waves will not be profitable for more than a year, but much earlier.

Waves is a good coin to invest in for long term (3-5 years) , because , if you follow its development instant by instant; you won't go far enough with it .
It's right that fluctuations are often happening executively, but as I said , it's not for short term investment, the best didn't come yet.

Waves is interesting projects and lately it has been rising a lot but there is still too much work to be done. Ethereum is also working on improvements and also at micro transaction support with Raiden. After long stagnation it is anyway good news to see the price moving up.

Just came to know, China-based most popular crypto exchanges Binance, is adding $WAVES to its extensive list of currencies. What an excellent news and waiting positive effect on waves growth now. Love this technology!

This is good news for waves, but not enough. The deal with waves is that NG upgrade. We all wait for it. They released waves 1.0 betanet and I really liked its user interface.

Trust me, Talbot, no one here in the Speculation or Altcoin discussion thread is a tech guy. The real techies are busy developing, or moderating. My advice to you: don't read too much into anything developers say, and especially don't read too much into what a lot of people think. Form your own opinions, and then act on decisions you make.

Price is dropping, price is rising, this is usually part and parcel of the market. If you got in based on good rationale, then have faith. Today's price, next week's next years won't really matter in the case of a long-term buy.

Waves holder here!

I'm a big fan of Waves and have been holding since $2.

When I first got into crypto it was to user-friendly compared to other platforms. Keeps going from strength to strength.

And heavily backed by Boris Titov. Google him. Highly influential Russian Billionaire, mates with Putin.

Waves has been in the market for quite sometime now but eventhough I don't hear much of it talking by the community maybe because it's not that popular though maybe it's really fast but people focus on bitcoin. I think waves is one of those silent giant that only wait for the time it will wake up and it may surprise people when that day comes

I've posted numerous times about my enthusiasm for the project but also my disappointment in the price action for Waves.  I couldn't understand why no one was buying into the ecosystem but now it looks like they're beginning to make traction.  Even if they're one of the fastest chains around it should further grow the price.  Nows the time to do it as well... with Crypto Kitties clogging up the Ether blockchain people will be looking for other ways to launch tokens.

I believe that waves have future, may be platform will not hit ethereum, but go to 100$ price per coin - very easy! i have Waves in portfolio ,gave them to lease and im not going to sell them next year. Just in special case. About fastest blockchain - i don't think so, but it is  fast enough, it's fact. I transfered Wagger coins couple days ago, i had them there less than in 1 minute. But ripple was more fast.
