Title: Greenaddress transaction fee

Hi just wondering if anyone could tell me i just started using bitcoins had a little amount sent into my greenaddress.it bitcoin account and wanting to send it out but its asking for 1mtb transaction fee which is about $20 is that correct/any way around it?

That might be correct, considering the huge backlog of the network which is over 140k unconfirmed transaction (https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions) the recommended fee will be set on a huge set of numbers, you can see it here  https://bitcoinfees.earn.com the recommended fee is 0.0009 BTC for the median transaction size of 225 bytes

Yeah, that correct! if you want to send a transaction and want it to get confirmed faster(<10 blocks) then you'll have to pay the default fees or higher, if you're not in a hurry then lower the fees and wait till tx is confirmed.

this tool is really good at estimating the fees(https://estimatefee.com). for ex: if you want to send a tx with 1 input and 1 output and are willing to wait for ~8 hours then you can easily slide down your fees to 0.25 mBTC.
