Title: Electrum LTC SCARE on MAC
Post by: silversurfer7 on December 15, 2017, 10:49:03 PM
Hi All,

my mac updated last night and for some reason when I tried to sign into electrum wallet LTC it kept telling me incorrect password.....over and over.
THANKFULLY I wrote down my seed like a good holder and was able to restore the wallet. I still have the following questions:
HOW??? Was it a glitch because of the update?
- Would the saved file I have as backup do any good if I didn't have the seed? Would the seed do any good if I did not have the "Saved file" backed up and ready to use to load up the wallet?

ALSO, on my mac I looked for the file that my wallet name is supposed to be stored under....I followed the instructions by typing something like ~/.electrum and it did NOTHING.
This wallet makes me nervous and I think I'm going to not use it anymore unless I can gain some understanding.
Any help would be appreciated!!! :)
Thanks in advance

Seed is the only thing you need to recover all your private keys (have access to your funds).

you can also make a back up of your wallet file as a secondary backup option and also if you want your "Labels" and "Descriptions" to stay with your wallet. although you can export those separately too!

as for wallet location i don't know how Mac works! did you follow this: http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#where-is-my-wallet-file-located
also you can go to file > open (inside electrum itself) to see where the wallet files are located.
