Post by: tbone777 on December 16, 2017, 05:13:47 AM
Look out for the people who arent willing to do escrow. Their will be guys coming on here promising you any gift card but you first must send them money. First sign is low posting number. There is a lot of signs showing someone may be a scam.

That indication is not quite always happening in the community, We must understand that a green trust could be a neutral trust or vice versa.

If they are not willing to do escrow avoid at your own risk or you have to convince them to send first if you are really trusted member.

spotting a scammer is a sole discretion for ourselves.

Common sense is all you need which if you do see that you don't have any assurance or security regarding on a certain transaction then our intuition and common sense would really tell us on not to do that such transactions. Scammers are everywhere and do the things that they must do as long they can able to get money from people. Escrows is always advised and there are lots of reputable middleman on this forum which we can actually use their service. If you are on doubt then better to cancel it off than on losing money.

This is not new and few people have already got trapped considering that they could save the escrow fees and have landed up in a loss. Especially with the newbie or Jr member they become the easy target as may not know much but it is always recommended to use escrow unless you are trading with legendary or hero member who has good reputation here on the forum.

That's obvious already when he asks  to send first and his account is low rank.

Escrow guarantee to make the transaction safe in both party, they hold the funds and wait for the other party to give signal if offer was sent successfully.

I have good experiences with green trust members or members, who already got feedbacks. Mostly they offer themselves escrow service. But your warning is useful for newcomers or members, who didn't trade yet and we can't warn enough to not dealing with untrusted members who refuse escrow.

We used an escrow to make the transaction safe and both parties will have confident to make a transaction but must remember the guys who are very trusted escrow and do not deal in any other people who have no history of trading. It is good to choose member here in the forum who have more green trust and i am sure they are person can give them more trust.

For how many times that I have read complains like this, that is why its really really better to read and understand the fundamentals. Somebody doesn't understand what escrow is, and after that complaints and awareness are appearing in different kinds of boards.

If people will just be wise nobody will be fooled.

There is a tons of ways to spot a scammer, but if you on the fact is providing some mysterious activity and accusation someone might consider you a (scammer) on the other hand pinpoint your own humbleness inside the forum might accept you as an escrow even if you don't have any trust or feedback.

First of all why would you send money to an unknown escrow or untrusted escrow in the first place there are some indications that a user can be trusted by their reputation there are many escrow in this forum that offer those services but if you dont like something and something is fishy then that escrow is doing some suspicious in his activity then better dont do any transaction with that person if you dont want to lose your money.

I would never do a trade here without escrow when the person I'm dealing with isn't a trusted member of the community, let alone go first. With Bitcoin, you have to be cautious about everything. Since you are in control of your money, all your decisions, actions and mistakes are final.

But not all newbies are scammers. Always use escrow, or don't risk what you can't afford to lose. Simple.

I often make a deal without using escrow cause I'll have to pay fee for escrow service and sometime I have to wait a little bit too long to be able to use escrow for my deal but luckily I never being scammed before. LOL. But for now, the number of scammer is increasing very quickly I also suggest that escrow is needed for every deal. :D

Everyone needs to be careful in performing transactions with anyone in here. If he cannot use escrow, then you shouldn't trust the person.
It's all about being vigilante especially when dealing with newbie accounts, because most of these scammers will choose to operate in that way.

Better to hire an escrow that is expirienced and already given a high trust ratings, you can trust a middleman like that. They are recommended mostly of everyone having transactions with some strangers. Never do a transaction on a stranger with out a trusted escrow.

I agree. There are so many scams nowadays buyers and sellers beware. If one of the party is not willing to use escrow and the transaction is in a decent amount of money. I would considering as a red flagged.

It is true that there are a lot of scams out there, especially for crpytocurrencies, since there is anonymity and there is no one or governing body that is watching over transactions, there is no doubt that people will try to scam others, what we need to do before we enter a so-called investment that will double or triple our money, we should do a research first, since it is easier to scam people who do now know anything than people who do their research and question what kind of an investment it is, we should also be aware that there are not only scammers out there but also hackers, we should be more cautious.

Only reason some are trapped on this scammers hand is greediness without even using oneself common sense.. Some might even know and have doubts at first but ignoring it for a same reason they want easy money that don’t required more work or with promising high interest.. For them,, risks is part of it but they themselves don’t understand what this statement really means..

When dealing with people you don't know always be careful, better to pay for an escrow than loosing all your money.
Bitcoin users are anonymous and transactions can't be reversed so there will be no way to get back your money.
A scammer always uses a new account thus if he get negative feedback he will simply create a new one and start over.
Always take a look at the profile page of the member you want to deal with.

It's a mere a scam if someone that will tell you not to willing to escrow and has a low rank and doesn't have any trading history, don't trust that person if you won't hire an escrow. You can trust those people that has legit and positive trusting rating from other reputable members that are in this type of business but still be vigilant because there are people who are just using fake trust vouching to attract others.

Correct which it would really just require common sense for you to engage on these kind of things which we should really set some escrows before making some deals online. Dont trust anybody here on internet because you wont know if they are legit or just scammers. Better to be safe and cautious than sorry. Always set out safety transaction procedures because if we do value our money we would eventually do these steps.

If people send money to newbies without any reference, then it is their own fault! But the gift card scams you have mentioned are small compared to the online gambling scams. New sites pop up every day with great bonuses and promotions to draw deposits in and then disappear after a while. But it is basically the fault of the greedy people and I suggest to simply use the reputable offers and avoid damages.

I thinks we dont judge first the person who are newbie and wanted to learn about in doing in campaign, because not all new user are doing fraud, even those we found out that some of beginner post is not constuctive, because they are only starting to learn in the world of digital currency .even those escrow i thinks its legit as long as they not offended or doing hacking to our co bitcoiners, and as long they not offended to the other people  by doing scamming.

Its hard to trace those scammer people here in the social media. As I observed as of this days, scammers and hackers become rampant here in the cyberworld because of the value of bitcoin getting high. They do as much as they can in order have a victim and garner those bitcoins or tokens. Please aware and be observant all the time to avoid to be scammed. Hopefully the security is capable and strong enough to those hackers and scammers as they do their best to success there bad intentions.

Investing is tempting because it promises little profit, especially if run seriously. Unfortunately many unscrupulous people are utilizing this to make a profit with the fraud mode. The lure of this investment offered with Rp 10 million we will benefit up to 20% a month. The claim of this investment is that our money will be invested into the coal business, petroleum drilling, or technology and others.

if you see an outsider with someone offering a better escrow service you do not continue to use the service because if from the beginning it has been felt there is an awkwardness I'm sure it will lead to losses. but in my opinion not all escrow services will only lead to a scam but there is also really doing a transaction. and the first thing to do is if we want to follow escrow services should first look for an accurate information about the person offering the escrow service. because usually people get scammers for escrow services that they follow because of a carelessness without first finding accurate information on the escrow service and this is what makes the person will get a loss.

If you are doing transactions through bitcointalk, you may have already paid attention that we got blessed with something called "trust system".

The trust system gives us the option to untrust or trust someone, and it gives warnings to other people who may deal with him in the future.
The trust system is raiting based, which makes it safe to rely on, making it very hard for people to abuse the system by giving false trusts.

Always look at the trust raiting before dealing with someone.

Expect forum escrows and the managers you may not find the more people have trust and comes to deal with the bitcoin transaction for trade. Whenever you want to deal with the small rank members or newbies, you should have the intermediate person called escrow in your trade else you will get the scammed by that concern person. Most of the time people scammed the buy and leave that cheap rank account.
So be careful about that thing. Whenever you have that person or site you are using seems scam attempt. Create a thread and check with the forum members. They may give proper explanation about it.

OK, thanks for the fair warning dude but to give you a tip, don't deal with newbies and even low rank member. You have to check everything if you are going to deal with someone here. Of course escrow is a must, if they don't want to used an escrow then ask them to send first. You can find a lot of escrows around the clock here. Although there's also high ranking members, usually buying a account to make such a scam, so you better used your common sense. This forum have seen so much scams throughout the year, that is better to be safe than sorry. Because we all know that every transaction is irreversible, that's why scammers take advantage of this kind of setup. I think you know where to find escrows here so I will not go and elaborate. Also, you can checked the scam accusations thread, and you will know what I'm saying.

It's a norm now that when you are transacting you'll get an escrow but if the guy you are transacting with is trustworthy there's no need to avail escrow service. And here in forum make sure that you don't deal with those people that aren't popular and well known to have some transaction, also depend on the trust.

Theoretically, that’s the common behaviour of one scammer but in the past that all change many low ranking member has more tendency to pay than the much higher rank member. And this is because of Account selling and hacking that happened those wanted to scam bigtime used those accounts for this only purpose. We should be observant enough and take a step to warn others.

This shouldn't be new information to anyone with common sense or access to these forums. If you're going to get scammed, you're obviously going to get scammed by someone who tries their best to get your money without involving any other people and someone who is able to ghost very quickly. Since people can make accounts here for free and without any IP restrictions, you'll often see people spamming accounts here. I still think there should be some really big sticky somewhere on the marketplace about safer ways to trade (or some warning in large text somewhere).

So much direct to the point Sir, but I think they have restriction of IP address specially in Signature Campaign and many more. That's why they investigate all their participant to avoid multi account. Correct me if that is wrong.

Always check and if you do have doubts you can always ask the community.

Actually not all newbies or new users are doing scams it is not based on their post count. Let me give you a scenario what if a head company only heard the bitcointalk forum just recently and make an account in order to hire managers to work for them? See? here are some of the signs you need to observe in order to avoid scams.

1. No matter what the rank is if he's willing to do transaction with escrow. It's legit.
2. Look for the quality of his/her posts. You will know if he/she is a professional by looking at his/her post (Not all some of the big companies tries to scam too.)
3. Look for his/her background information (But of course we're in the internet, we don't know exactly who's behind it.)
4. If it's a company or project manager, look at the projects background, reviews and team.
5. Most of the legit peoples or companies will post the escrowed fund (But of course not all.)
6. They will hire a reputable managers (There's a high chance that if they hire reputable manager it's legit because most of the reputable managers review the project first)

we do have different basis in my case here's the thing i look for before investing to something, starting to transact etc.
Yeah brother all the signs you have mentioned here are very important and helpful to avoid such scams. It is natural that not all the people are scammers and not all are legit. Some people want to make money in easy way and to betray innocent people who do not aware of their tricks.

Many people have lost their money in the hands of these scammers like there are thousands of jobs on lime but most are scams and do not pay to its workers. Thanks for such nice information.

Look out when people are not willing to do escrow, they don't use it because they plan to scam you and with escrow they can't do it. There are many signals that someone wish to scam you, but scammers are more tricky and they hide them selves better and better, its not always easy to spot a scammers.
Low posting number works sometimes, but accounts are being sold, accounts with positive trust rating, and then this accounts with high number of posts and positive trust rating offer something and you try to buy it.
The best thing to do is to use escrow, that is step number one, next is be transparent, scammers don't like transparent things.

No they haven't that such feature about restricting the same address this is why this forum has been flooded by lots of multiple accounts which you can barely notice to those account who do abuse signature campaigns. Its sad to think but it is indeed the reality on whats happening as of now. If you do try to look on reputation section you would notice about those accounts being caught on joining or abusing campaigns..

I think we all have to alert. for the escrow wants to be used to reliable least got the belief public. if want to use the services of escrow may use already has a good reputation of its users. escrow help direct transaction between user so be safe. sometimes problems such as it is not only of escrow but also the seller. make sure that the seller has a good reputation, so that we don't be fooled to make a purchase

Some of the scams it is obvious to see, some are a bit harder to spot. USing escrow moves the trust to the Escrow - if you use a good escrow you are pretty well protected - but you have to make sure you are using a good escrow - because some scammers try to catch unsuspecting people here too.

At present, the crypto market is developing very strong, this is a large space for fraudsters to take over the assets of investors. Recently, I have been aware of a series of hacker attacks that infiltrated the systems to steal information, coin pockets, bitcoin ransoms. More scams. Investors should be cautious with their assets. Keep important information as carefully as possible.

Yes, some of us already know about this, we are now living in a modern era and the cryptocurrency industry is the best known example. The only bad thing in the cryptocurrency industry is that whenever we make a transaction online is we don't know who's the person behind in our every transaction and we don't know what's his/her real motive. Here are some of the things you need to observe in order to avoid scams out there

1. Doesn't want to use escrow services (Just like what you've stated)
2. Doesn't have good reputation (such as new accounts, etc.)
3. Have a red trust.
4. If he/she's going to borrow money (Lending) He/she doesn't give collateral (But it's okay if he/she's reputable)

This is the common things we need to consider first before doing transactions online specially the number 1. Escrow services is the most known way to transact with 2 people in cryptocurrency industry but you should also know that the escrow sometimes is a scammer too so you should look for a reliable and reputable escrow too.

6. The person requesting the loan has collateral but it is trying to sell it in another thread or forum this means the person has no intention of ever repaying you.

You shouldn’t see their review or comments that were made about them to be sure whether they are legit or scam. Most gift cards sellers are scammers anyway, there may be a user that received a gift card and wants the money instead, but those that sell gift cards in bulk could only have obtained by stealing them or by buying the gift cards with stolen credit cards, so the right recommendation is to not buy gift cards from sources not affiliated with the gift card itself.

Well using an escrow when dealing of something here is a must if you don't want to be a victim of scamming. However that still depends on your discretion, there are users who easily trust someone and don't think what might happen afterwards unless that particular user that you're dealing with is a green trusted and a higher rank member its an exception for me.

Not only that because scammers as of today tends to become more smarter and smarter on finding ways on deceiving people just to scam money out of them and as a investor or any transactions online we should really be vigilant on possible ways for them to set in. Never ever give them opportunity to scam us and there are lots of ways to avoid and we should really be sensible in our actions.

Look out for the people who arent willing to do escrow. Their will be guys coming on here promising you any gift card but you first must send them money. First sign is low posting number. There is a lot of signs showing someone may be a scam.
Scam is always there whether online or offline. They just have different techniques to deceived you.

Internet world is full of scams and they come up with new scam each day and it is very difficult to avoid them as they make it look so real and trustful. But alleast we should follow the basic safety measures like never to trust anyone without escrow and do not fall for very attractive schemes which seems look to good to be true.
Yep, it’s really not easy for us to avoid being scammed. You both know that scammers is very normal, because actually they are well-skill in technology than each others , they are flexible and incredibly intelligent in the way make almost those of us be cheated. You’d better not believe in anyone, you must control your emotion for not being cheated. Especially, for some newbie , they may not  know much more about this market, they can easily be scammed. In totally, when you take part in this cryptocurrencies, you must prepare a lot to face with many troubles.
It is not that difficult to avoid being scammed just think critically about what it is being offered and you will avoid most scams, lets take HYIP as an example we all know those are scams but people let their greed take control and invest in them and lose their money, if they took the time to consider why a HYIP will need their money if they can generate so much money by themselves then you will realize they will not need us if they could actually produce the profits they claim so you can easily see they are a scam.

There is nothing to deny about this thing that the market is full of scammers and that of we make one wrong move, then all our money will go in vain and that we will be left with nothing in our hands. However, the only possible way of safe survival is gaining more and more knowledge about the things which can help you in staying away from such kind of frauds and scam. Be sure that you are doing the right thing before making any of your move.

Imagine people will not meet each other personally and don't know each other. They could just easily avoid once scam transaction is over.

Well using an escrow when dealing of something here is a must if you don't want to be a victim of scamming. However that still depends on your discretion, there are users who easily trust someone and don't think what might happen afterwards unless that particular user that you're dealing with is a green trusted and a higher rank member its an exception for me.

This is actually on what happening as of now where we are still confused which ones is legit and which one is totally a scam because they are already good on copying, designing, marketing on a project which you will believe that they are really legit and this is why we do keep on researching until we do find the flaws, just be really active and observe suspicious thing which will really make you avoid on getting scammed.

Since the market for Cryptocurrency has grown exponentially, fraud on the internet has become so widespread. The transactions are anonymous so no agency can control the exchange so when investors are cheated or steal property can not be recovered. That raises many cases where hackers infiltrate host systems to steal information and crypto or ransom with crypto. It is a risk that most cryptocurrency investors have to accept this market.

Yeah a low post number or your rank is not a sign of being untrustworthy, this assumption is why scammers can get away with many scams by buying accounts, an user may be a newbie but if it has completed many trades with more established members then that is a sign of a trustworthy person but no matter the circumstances when it comes to bitcoin we need to always use escrow.

We should really be vigilant into all people we do make engagements online or making transaction between them. Only trust yourself when it comes to online world and always do seek out for the reputable persons online and if you have doubts we can really use up escrows which is really advisable anytime, might have the fee but its much better than to make a risky trades among other people.

I still think there should be some really big sticky somewhere on the marketplace about safer ways to trade (or some warning in large text somewhere).
actually will be very visible when some people are doing a scam. we should have understood the signs or actions of those who would only be scammed because we would have been able to differentiate about just spamming posters and about those with high quality posts. it is the simplest thing to distinguish

You want to invest on the ICO project means read the complete team information and review and rating of the project first bro. Then you will be able to get the good project which can give you the decent income with the investment and it may go higher also after it has been listed.
Then I want to say that please ignore the promotional offers which is coming in airdrop and free tokens because most they scam the users and leave with the fund collected mate.

Before you deal with someone you need to use escrow for the both safety of buyer and seller. Escrow can make you more safe instead of deal without using escrow. There's a lot of scammer now you need to be careful because wrong decision you made you lose your money and you will get back you capital. Escrow is very helpful to us they have free escrow service and they have small fees.

It’s true that having a “low post number” does not exactly mean that one is a scammer however this has given the notion that the user is not trustworthy enough. Many times a scammer would create a new account in dealing with his illegal transactions so as to avoid getting a red trust in their original account or so that the new account is easily disposable once it gains a negative trust.

It is not all about internet, I think that we should be careful in any field of life. For instance I lost $35000 in real estate investment. The owner of the shops knew that the property is not owned by him but he didn’t tell me about this. He took my money and disappeared. I have been scammed once, now I am very careful about any investment in any sector.

Scams are happening everywhere and if we are not taking appropriate action against them then there could be no chances for us to escape from them. Gifts and luck draw kind of scams are very old but unfortunately people are still falling to it. That shows how aware they are and how much they have updated their knowledge.

You cannot leave off all the new ICOs in one single stroke. You must take time to analyze each and every project based on different criteria so that you may invest safely. Filtering out inappropriate ICOs may help to find a right one in quick time.

We can avoid those scams by always checking first if they are legit or not by asking some evidence of their previous transactions. When transacting with people here on the forum that is not yet reputable or trusted, escrow would be preferable and if they do not accept it then you can find another one that would accept your conditions. When joining a bounty campaign, check first if the manager can be trusted, the project is viable and the team is responsive to the questions because through this way, you will know if they are knowledgeable.

You're right not all newbies are scammer maybe few of them are owned by bounty campaign manager. Or maybe in order to avoid these things you should stick to your trusted campaign manager. Never ever ever let your guard down - even those people that befriend you through the crypto space - there are people out there that are masters of the long con - they will make it look as though it is all legitimate but then one day will just disappear along with your hard earned money.

Ultimately everyone in the world will try to rip you off if they could - a negative way to look at it I know but it is the truth. So always always be on the look out for scams. Sometimes though people just can't be bothered developing anymore and do a runner that way too. It is hard to predict.

Never do any transactions to any unknown users just like a basic rule especially newbie accounts except if that user is trusted and just made a new account for business purposes. Not all newbies are scammer sometimes they're owned by bounty/signature campaign manager.
You're right not all newbies are scammer maybe few of them are owned by bounty campaign manager. Or maybe in order to avoid these things you should stick to your trusted campaign manager. In my case I only participate to campaign that were managed by my trusted campaign manager and it is all worth because I can assure that his campaign was not scam.
choosing a trusted manager is the main benchmark before deciding to participate in it. it's true not all beginners are scammers because there are some big projects that create new accounts to run its campaign program that can be done by itself, but on the other hand he must have escrow so that campaigns can be trusted by everyone

You should watch for it before investing because scamming and frauds happen because of our over confidence and trusting yourself too much without having any good ideas about market happenings, because people with negative thoughts are here to take advantage of it, they will just come, show you green garden to hook you up and to get your trust and after that taking your money they will get disappear, so beware of such scammers don’t trust everyone.

Take that as a very cheap lesson even if for you 7 dollars is a meaningful amount of money you should consider yourself to be lucky there have been people that lost hundreds of bitcoin to scammers that are now worth a fortune, so remember to always use an escrow for any deal, there are some escrows that charge you money but there are others willing to do it for free, just look that the escrow has a good reputation or you could lose your money to them as well.

Cryptocurrency depend on internet and this is the worst thing for bitcoin investors. When there is internet, there would be scammers and hackers around. Safety is very difficult but we should do our best to avoid such scams. Always use reliable exchange for your transaction and try to use your local exchanger which is in your reach, so that you can claim your lost transactions.

Scams are just in the corner and what's alarming is that they're almost everywhere and hard for us to determine them as they do scamming in professional way. I think one of the best solution to stop these scammers is when government regulate cryptos and every ico must be registered in secc before it can start its crowdfunding program.

The last thing I will allow to happen to me this time is being scammed. No way am I letting such a thing happen, not after I faced it as a beginner, this time around I’ve become more smart and more careful. I was scammed $115 back then as a newbie, and the mistake was from me cause I was completely careless then as I was about selling my Bitcoin and sold it to a random person I met online.

The campaign should be done from a successful ICO project and professional management team, you certainly know that if the ICO project fails, the bounty project you join will have no results. Take a good look at the ICO project before deciding to join and try to get the job done well to get the reward.

There are times when the ICO is not scam but they do not pay the bounty participants which is quite unfair that's why we should have a consensus that tokens should be escrowed.

Yeah thanks for reminded us.. and it's not only that, now scammers more increasingly a various forms of its deception. Anyhow internet is the one of the scam's media that's really suitable for a scammers.. and of course scams forms in cyberspace, it's harder to read or researched than scam in the real world. Sometimes someone who doesn't intend to scam, but we consider it a scam and vice versa. Well in essence we've to be a more smarter person.
Unfortunately this is the reality of this space, you cannot ever let your guard down, there are people trying to scam you and there are others sending phishing links and if you click on them you risk losing money as well, this is why sometimes people in the forum may seem to be paranoid about stuff but the truth is they are only trying to protect themselves and others of being scammed.

Thats why cryptocurrencies have so bad reputation. You can count on scam on every step of the way.

It is very important to know the ICOs in which we are going to invest. The project should be authentic and reliable. Market cap should be good and should be listed in exchange. These are some facts that every investor should know about it. There are thousands of coins in the market but all are not authentic and there are many scams which should be avoided.

Using an escrow is a must in any deal you make in the forum, I know that this adds costs and time delays but it is worth it especially if we are talking about a significant amount of money, however I will recommend that you never buy gift cards from people, most of the time they are committing some kind of fraud and you do not want the police knocking at your door just because you wanted to get a cheap gift card.

When you make transaction on someone whom you don't know and you will do it for the first time, it is advisable to use wallet that can tract your transaction well and if possible use wallet that requires KYC so you can tell that this person with this account scams you so other people will also know!

Investing in an ICO at this stage is risky if the investor does not really grasp the elements that can lead to a successful ICO project. I believe this market is recovering but the opportunity is only for serious and professional investors.

Most of the time it is going to be impossible for the tokens to be escrowed because while the campaign is running the tokens have not been created yet, while I understand that will give everyone the security they are going to eventually going to be paid, the developers are busy doing other stuff needed to make their project a success, so unfortunately the risk of not being paid by bounty campaigns will still be there.

Always be on the lookout for scams to avoid losing your assets and investments.
In the crypto world, there are lots of ways to get phished. Scammers and hackers are everywhere.
Secure your assets, always.
To avoid scams I suggest never invest in anonymous cryptos and new ICOs until they listed in exchange because when they do not receive funds they ran away with money. It is better to invest only in authentic and reliable coins like bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin etc. if you invest in these top coins you will be mentally relaxed.

That goes without saying. Before investing your money into any speculation, you should ascertain to a certain degree the possibility of that project and the skill of the team handling it.
There are so many poorly managed 'good' ideas.
Do your OWN research. And don't just follow the recommendations of a crypto influencer.

Bitcoin scams is increasing everyday and we need to be on look out in order not to fall a victim. Using an escrow service when going for a trade is good but just to be sure you are not getting scammed. Still understand that the escrow service is to be trusted. Localbitcoins kind of does the trick for me and i have been using them for quite a long time. There are also many other sites that relies on good form of escrow and creates a neutral ground where buyers and sellers meet.

Solid stuff. This year 2018 has really seen a hike in the number of scammers. And it is as though people are getting more and more careless. It is really beyond me. I think investors' concept of Bitcoin also matters. If you see cryptocurrencies as a fast means of money making, you'll most likely fall into a ditch. Because that is what scammers do. Most times they gain leverage by depending on your own greed. So, in your search for profits, one needs to be extra careful out there.

Thats not new nowadays dont trust easily even he/she is your fellow citizen because when it comes to money they wont spare anyone as long as they know they can get money out of it.

Its a must to use an escrow when doing a transaction online to make sure you wont get scam, its better to be careful rather than regretting what you've done.

Scammers are never to be trusted and also thats the reson behind why they are painted red here. Scammers would always look for their profits no matter what the situation is but it should be us who should be able to recognise a scammer. I have spent a lot of years into cryptos now and i can perhaps identify a scammer from a ponzi deal. I had too been scammed a lot of times previously but such things teach us a major lesson which helps us ahead from being ripped.

There are more than half of the scammers out there and the first and formost rule you should follow is you should never trust anyone for any kind of financial deal because money makes the person think in a different way and he starts getting different tactics to scam your money instead of making a positive deal. I was been scammed in a bad way before and i had lost about 2 months of my income into it but i would anyways thank that scammer to teach me something great which would allow me now to stay far away from the scammers.

The truth is that these days investors are beginning to get smarter and for what it is worth we are beginning to see scam ICOs counting their days in the market which is something I even believe will diminish entirely with regulation.

So far so good, the forum itself has even helped investors to gain knowledge on how to identify scams and weight the risk one wants to take pertaining investment and if it is too risky based on certain criteria like the team, unavailability of product and some other things, then it is best not to invest at all.

Well, people that always fail to seek knowledge first usually learn from their mistakes. It is just unfortunate that some people still never get to learn from their mistakes. Identifying scams is not a big deal and in fact, it should be something that we should be hearing less of by now based on the awareness that has been created within the community at large. Due diligence starting from the team to the product and the least information is what would help anyone make the right decisions, but without that knowledge, or laziness of some people to do proper digging is what usually lead them to scam.

The thing here is that most people are usually the ones that give the scammers the chance to still be able to have an upper hand in getting whoever they want to get as long as there are greedy people looking for easy ways out to get rich overnight.

People in these categories have always been known over the years to be the victim of scams and the painful part to it is that they just do not learn and all they do is whine about some decisions they ended up making and how scammers are huge in the system, but not knowing what they should do themselves to stay clear off the scammer radar.

If people have little bit of common sense then most of the scams can be avoided because most of the scammers aleady have negative trust or untrusted feedback and also if they don't have we may assue they are scammer from the offer they are making and always remember that you need to look for an escrow when you ment a person on online for trading or exchanging.

First rule to do trade is finding good repeatable escrow (Never do single trade without escrow) and the best choice is to use bitcointalk escrows services because it was proven over years . use below link :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=18640

nowadays new security systems and escrow platforms launched. and also most buy sell websites have built in escrow system. freelancing sites also have escrow system. for bitcoin and Crypto trading using Bitcointalk escrow is good. but I would advise trading in a trusted trading platform such as localbitcoin and other crypto exchanges.
it'll give you full security.

Yeah you are right; scammers also give such benefits that are too much for a new coin and project. Checking the project is mandatory before investing your money in it. by doing this you will be safe. Never trust anybody easily because they will show you a shining future, but the facts are different from what he offers. I always invest in bitcoin or Ethereum.

The only way anyone can easily identify scam most especially when it comes to ICO is to be able to take a deep look on the team for starters. You cannot expect something serious from a team that is non serious or looks unreal and in that case, you really do not want to be investing your money in such places.

Scammers tend to use fake profiles most of the time, and they will always end up leaving some footprint as there is no way they can ever get it right like when a team is doing the real thing. Secondly, the product availability helps a lot, but you really want to check if it is even a product worth investing in, in the first place.

Yes, you are right, it seems that what you are talking about is true, at this time there are so many scamer coming out and popping up, they are using the situation to do their actions to get people affected by a scam.

There are thousands of cryptos in the market and it is very hard to find out the scam coins. to avoid such coins the best thing is never to invest in new coin. Always invest your money in authentic and reliable coins like bitcoin, Ethereum, ripple, etc. these are the best coins in the market and you will be mentally relaxed with your investment. don’t try to try anonymous coins.

Yes, there are so many fraudsters in circulation and there are so many who are exposed and have the guise of cryptocurrency fraud and now some ico are also scams so for cryptocurrency users to be more careful not to be a victim of fraud.
Well, knowing that there are so many fraudsters out there, what is everyone doing to try as much as possible to subdue the fraudulent activities. It is always easy for scammers to have their way as long as we will keep getting non smart people who tend to just get driven towards their greed and then at the end of the day, instead of knowing how to identify certain things as being too good to be true, or not being too good to invest, they just opt into it blindly anyway.

I think that to be able to avoid a scam right now is very difficult, there are so many people who look good but they run away and run away from our money, for transactions it is better to try to ask DT members who are here to help transactions that can be safer and make sure you have more than 300 green trusts.

People have to be careful but I think people have become too paranoid, some people think every single person is a scammer looking to take their money.  I think thats a horrible way to live your life with all that negativity.

Look out for the people who arent willing to do escrow. Their will be guys coming on here promising you any gift card but you first must send them money. First sign is low posting number. There is a lot of signs showing someone may be a scam.
There are really a lot of scammers out there and we should really aware of this, if you already know that they are scammers then just ignore them, don't enter at the first place, you already know how to know who's the scammers and not. If they aren't willing to do escrow then stop following them already.

I think you are right at this time, there are so many people who scam, even so many at the moment, ICO who scam and make investors more scared and confused because they are so many who are trapped in ICO who are scam, now they really have to be careful because of the scam. all places...

well, that can only in that amount of time you get to visit check some scams available and what people are saying about it but not necessarily a way to just keep monitoring every project as that is something you might keep having to do on your own.

Although, learning how to identify scams sometimes after familiarizing oneself with this thread can always come in handy but the best way to identify scam is to be able to dig deeper into things that most people are always not eager to deep in as long as they are comfortable with the sweet returns or something. Most times for scams, it is always too good to be true.

I have good experiences with green trust members or members, who already got feedbacks. Mostly they offer themselves escrow service. But your warning is useful for newcomers or members, who didn't trade yet and we can't warn enough to not dealing with untrusted members who refuse escrow.

Having a green trust was an advantage actually, but I'm not saying those who don't that trust is not trustworthy. Its not what I mean either for you able to know. But reality happened now was most of the bounty managers who don't have that privilege was low in rank only few of them were in the end of their project became successful.

I don't believe escrows. My worry is the persistent scam ICOs on Ethereum contract. I think this is the major threat to cryptocurrency adoption. And the way to reduce it is by creating programs that will stop the random creation of token by making every project register in before creation of token, it will enable us know the real persons behind every project and apprehend them when they act dubious.

Exactly, you are right in order to control the scams we development should carefully watch people who are using their blockchain. If ETH development team should give permission after verifying to launch their ICO anyhow manages to control the creation of their own ICO, firstly they need to contact the people of ETH development team. In this way, we can easily control the scam ICO's in the market.

i totally agree on that idea . lets hope they can implement it in the future and let us also spread that suggestion all over the web so that all people will unite in this advocacy .

Quote
I don't believe escrows.
why would you not believe them ? escrow is another way to prove that project is not a scam . we should trust the ico as long as they have a reputable well known escrow .

aside from a reputable esrow , we should also look for a reputable campaign manager because there is a high chance that they wont accept a scam projects because their reputation will greatly affected if ever they will make shady business .

Yes, this is a very important moment in the digital industry now, when there are many exchanges and purchases of digital tokens, it is necessary to use only proven services or move to decentralized ones
