Title: Why should are we still Newbie despite having very old account ?
Post by: shideneyu on December 16, 2017, 10:34:10 AM
I do not think that it is fair.

I had to pay a small fee to post images despite I am here longer that most of people here (2012), only because I do not post often. Please see back your rules.

The age of the account shouldn't determine anything, otherwise, hackers could simply tap into the scores of accounts that have weak passwords and were abandoned.
4 weeks is not a long time to wait for posting images and the fee is not too significant either. I don't see the lack of fairness here.

An unopened boxed item can still be "new", even if it was created years ago.

Because that's not how activity works. By the very definition activity is based upon how active you have been on the forum and you haven't been very active at all. On the contrary, I would argue it wouldn't be fair to everyone else who has built up their account and rank over time by putting in the work and effort for others just to be able to create an account, abandon it for x amount of years then come back and magically be a Hero or Legendary member etc. This would just encourage even more lazy account farming if it was possible to achieve such ranks merely over time.

Also, have you actually been here since 2012 or did you just buy a hacked account to try appear like you have some history here? There's a huge gap in your post history from May 29, 2014 to May 2016 and then May 24, 2016 to April 2017 which is usually indicative of a very likely hacked account. This is why activity is actually a good system because you may or may not actually be an old member but you certainly haven't been an active one or earned the ranks you would have achieved naturally had you been actively posting.

You may have heard this quote: “Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.”
something similar to account age and activity on this forum  ;D

Because you're still a Newbie in terms of post history

Because, this would not be fair to every online person that takes time to comment on btc talk all the time, and take his time for nevbies for answering on their questions. You have to be online, and posting. It is not enough just to opec acc and thats it.

Imagine that you are a private soldier that have entered the army today and for five years straight, you did not do any single thing worth for your superiors to recognized you and increased your rank. This is your situation. ACTIVITY and ACHIEVEMENTS are what matters, not how long are you into something.
