Sure, it could happen. The price is almost 19k so there shouldn't be that much stoppage to 20k per coin.

Well I think we might there is 15 more days before this year ends,
And we all know that the price increase in bitcoin is so unpredictable so we couldn't say if it would hit it that high or could even surpass it.

we are almost there so ibeleive we can see the price @20000$ before christmast and morethan 20000$ before the year ends.

I think that without problems will reach 20k$, especially in connection with the launch of futures.

The price is already at $18000 and it's just another $2000 to achieve the $20000 target. This could happen before the year ends as Bitcoin was stable around $16500 for quite a few days now. The major altcoins had recently a short spike in the market but it seems they have gone down now and the money might flow towards BTC as it has started to increase in price. This time the price is growing more steadily which is a good sign for stable growth. If it continues at the same speed then $20k might be an easy target for BTC to achieve.

20k$ it's another psicological wall but it was also 10k and 15k and BTC kept growing at a very fast rate, i think as today it's very possible to reach 20k, we might see a drop after that due to casual trader but this is amazingly scary.

I believe until the New Year bitcoin will approach 20,000 USD. Its crazy growth has calmed down now, apparently it is connected with Christmas and New Year's holidays. Nevertheless, the potential for BTC growth remains.

14 days seems like plenty of time for another 11% pump! We'll probably get there, but maybe not stay over 20k in the first try. Its a very big milestone

I don't believe that it will hit $20,000 till the end of 2017. Even if it does, it won't be able to stay there, will drop quickly. But in 2018 it will definitely see $20,000.

There is a very big chance that btc will hit 20k by tye end of 2017. They predicted that it might hit 10k by end of 2017. But it surpassed that already. And btc is still gaining ground and lots of possitive news for btc. Investments are pouring in so maybe it will hit 20k this year 2017

yes it is very likely to hit 20k by end of december eventhough it will struggle a bit before surge.There has been a significant increase in bitcoin transactions and people are getting more involved now.

I am picturing it right now that bitcoin will the 20,000 US dollar target by the end of the month or even by christmas. Because I've predicted that it will only hit 13,000 or 15,000 US dollar but look where it is right now it surpass my speculation a few days after talk about a huge steback, which is why I think it will hit 20,000 before the year comes to an end.

I do not know if it is my imagination, but Bitcoin is much less volatile since the CME Group introduced Bitcoin futures. We

crawled past the $18 000 per bitcoin price. These Bitcoin futures work much better with smaller spikes & dumps, so I would

predict much less volatility in the future. I think once the 7% increase in the price is reached, the trading platform shuts down

Bitcoin is heading to the sky, the price will even rise to $18,234 today and if the progress continued like this we may have $25,000 before Christmas. We are in the era of speed and bitcoin gat what it takes talk of technology bitcoin gat it, it decentralized and is not control by any government or central bank of any country. This alone has given bitcoin what it take to rise high, and happy am a part of this revolution in the world financial system.

It is possible that bitcoin will hit that $20,000 dollars before year end. 8) The floor now is $16k to $17k dollars and the ceiling will be $20k dollars. This price rising have advantage and disadvantages but I'm being optimistic about it.  ;D

they have not yet started the market though. it was just the news. there are still 2 days left before the market starts only if nothing changes like last time (it was supposed to start on 11th).

This is actually possible! The way the current trend is going, $20,000 by the end of 2017 is far from being impossible. There are more rise than falls. And even if the price does fall, it will certainly recover at a fast rate landing on a higher price than the previous.

We are most likely going to be seeing this price and already bitcoin is heading towards $19,000 and with its growth rate of almost $500 each day and we consider corrections that occur during these 2weeks before the end of the year, we are pretty much going to to a high price than $20k

how about the opposite side of your choice ?
at this moment Bitcoin reach $19.000 dollars and if this movement keep continue in a few days later,
we may be can see it for around $20.000 or even more than that.
how can you say it's obviously will not reach that place while we are at this point ?
even in my opinion it has a possibility to reach $25.000 in the next few days,
because we're moving like crazy and never walk with the pattern.
plus we still have a day before the listing on CME group futures.

First of all i am not sure why your poll says December 30th, when you are asking about year end i would think the poll question should be till December 31st 11:59pm of the last time zone since bitcoin is global. Now as the last few days the price does seem to be holding its ground on stable price of $17.5k

definitely, I have saw some post before that the price for bitcoin have already passed 20K in some japan exchanges. As more and more japanese are buying into bitcoin after japan legalized the currency recently.

IMO, Bitcoin price moves according to the demand of the entire community and since we get a lot of new entrants, I also think we could hit that mark soon, just can't predict when that will be. It could even be higher than $20k by end of year.

I hope you realize that futures can bring the price up as well as down. Initially they will all get hyped and buy, but they can as well think of shorting it. They'll buy now, we'll jump up by $500 and then they'll dump it all to take profits. To a guy that puts in a million USD at once even $100 per coin is a huge profit, enough to be thinking about a selloff.
IMO we've been preparing for a correction for a long time and it will have to come eventually. IMO it will happen before $20k.

Yep, very likely to reach $20k before the year ends as long the rise in price will continue for the remaining days. As of now, we're near $19k already.

Indeed it is within reach now and there is no doubt in me actually that bitcoin can reach 20k$ in the near future especially before the end of the year because it has made certain impressive surges forward this month already and reaching 20k$ should be the least it could achieve  even looking at the times and that we are yet to even shop for xmas and all.

It might happen this weekend. There has been so much new money coming into crypto, who knows where it will end. The new money has never experienced the previous bear markets, they think bitcoin can only go up, so they're still buying.

It's pretty much already there. I really look forward to see what 2018, the end of 2018 will bring us. Crypto is gonna revolutionize the world! Can't wait.

I think it could jump up to $30,00 over the Christmas holidays.  I am also fully aware that it could drop down to $10,000, $5,000 or $500 any time soon though.

It seems like it. Bitcoin is now priced at $19300 in coinmarketcap. At the rate Bitcoin price is currently going, $20000 is very possible by the end of 2017. Let’s just wait and see how things are gonna turn out by that time.

It can even surpass 20k ( as it's keeping growing fast since it was 9 and remain in the same development rhythm ) and as you know there are 15 days left before 2018 , which is sufficiently enough period for bitcoin to hit higher levels

I'm pretty sure we'll get there. We're already at 19000 USD and there's not a lot to cover to get us to 20. If we take into account that we've witnessed the price jumping by 1000 USD in a day that 20 000 is within our reach as we speak. And remember that predictions are saying we can reach 50k next year!

Yes possible price of the bitcoin become 20k dollars before end of this year because today the price is 19k dollars and for sure it will increase more in the next few days or maybe hours only. But they have possible the price decrease and maybe we cant see the price become 20k dollars this yeat because we don't know what happen in the next few hours maybe the price will decrease or it wilk increase.

Possible and most importantly it would give more notification and legal issues on how a certain government would handle that for their own economy. As the price goes up, the stakes of possible banning is getting high. But off course their might be countries that will take advantage of it. Because their are a lot of news stating that bitcoin is a bubble and even some bloggers and business personalities are giving bad comments on btc.

We might even be having  more than the predicted price; a price like $21,000-$25,000 before the year ends.

Initially, at the beginning of this month of December, I only thought it will be at the maximum price of $20,000.
Now , look at the current price. It's at $19,000 just at the middle of the month and almost hitting $20,000.
We should not underestimate this coin!
But never the less, it's never too late to buy some or a few.
 

We absolutely will, but it doesn't really matter now. I mean, it would only be 2% increase, if you are looking to gain profit right now. With crypto risks 2% is not even worth to move a finger, you're better keep off the market, rather than hunt for 2%

We're almost there. And have a big possibility that it would be reach since bitcoin price($18k) is getting near of we have expecting to happen.

remember when we were asking if btc would end 2017 with $10k. The past 10,000 has gone way to quickly, this is bitcoin showing its true exponential nature. $20k is just around the corner nothing surprises me about that. What I am surprised is that people are still not selling, there has not been any price correction since 10k, holders or anyone isn't selling instead they and newer investors are just buying more and more.

Bitcoin community will be happy of its latest value. Now I think many are thinking different thoughts whether to sell their btc and this cause increase in demand. Crypto world is unpredictable nor can't be stopped by any person. As of now I keep monitoring its price.

Just $700 to get there. I think we can even maybe reach or approach $25,000 by the end of the month if market gets quite bullish. IT will be a 25% increase in two weeks but we have sometimes seen a 20% increase in just a day, the only thing is, we are more surprised now because we are talking of thousands.Bitcoin’s price rise has surpassed all expectations this year, so I won’t be surprised any more if this happens.

Why not dude? Are you late for the new update? Just so you know we're now in $19k and it's approaching to $20k that we're all anticipating. With all the good news that's happening now in the community no doubt that it raise more awareness and so the demand rises.

Piece lol it is know as coin just to let you know. Regarding the price it might end up reaching $22k end of year but there are high chance of it getting dumped super hard. Many are buying alts now if it's long term it will be profitable but all of you who are expecting to make profit from short term should reconsider and wait.

There is now a 100% possiblity because a few bucks left before this year would end. People are now rushing to buy bitcoin so that they could be onboard in the time of another ATH in which for sure it will happen and also lot of altcoin holders are now selling their coins to buy bitcoin with the same reason too therefore the possibility is now very high to hit the $20,000 mark.

We'll definitely hit it, considering how strongly bitcoin has performed. $20k is literally like $500 away and that is only a 4% rise or so. Already hit on Korean exchanges i think but Bitfinex still lagging behind a little at $19k.

I think it will, since we have not experienced the big pump yet. Big pump usually comes when bitcoin breaches a resistance and then price just absolutely skyrockets from there. I expect $23k once $20k is broken within a week.

The question has been raised in the right manner. We're much close to the $20000 mark, just a $200 to $300 away with almost half a month remaining to end the year. This gives a confirmation that bitcoin will reach $20000 or even higher than the same before the year end.

Yeah, it has a great potential and bitcoin had proven by it in the past few days. It is traveling forward quite energetically and surpassed all the recent established ATH values. And today it is about to break 20000$ and we are still two weeks away from the new year. Right now I suppose it would be ending the year with a greater value than our predictions and will amaze everyone connected with it...

Now the question is will it get back to $20,000.  It's gotten there - maybe triggering Sell Orders, and started to go down.  Will it get back and shoot up,  or suffer a correction?  That's the big question....

It could still go up to $20,000 but I don't think it can be done within this year. As long as the volatility of bitcoin is still there, the price of it will still increase I think.

It is rising slowly but surely til now. I guess it will pass the 20k$ soon but it will come a drop after that. It almost reached 19800$ on coinbase a week or two ago and then it crushed done to 13k$, but this is complete normal. Maybe a better question is if it will stabilise on 20k$. This year. Last few months were really crazy. I wanted to buy when it was 1000$, I was on vacation and decided to buy when I come back but then it was already 3K$ now we are talking about 20k$. It's insane

Bitcoin price almost cross $20,000 yesterday and it is having little correction and the corrections may cause a fall back to $18,000 before we can witness another pump again. Bitcoin has been doing very well since yesterday CME listed it among the future trade and the current conditions may end tomorrow and Bitcoin is going to resume another upward movement. I have been trying to see  bitcoin hitting $20,000 at https://blockchain.info were I hold my coins.

It was an unnatural movement, and for that reason not sustainable, so it shouldn't carry too much weight. GDAX has some very wealthy entities trading there, where even in current market they have the ability to use their deep pockets to steer the market in their preferred direction. It was a great money making opportunity, that's how I look at that peak.

It just shows that this market doesn't allow any entity to sit back and think or 'analyze' everything before buying. We have seen that waiting 24 hours, which in reality is nothing at all, can still result in the price having increased another $1000-$1500, which is pretty insane. In other words, pull the trigger and don't waste time waiting for whatever opportunity or other reason. Today the price is nearly $19,000, where a few days away from now we could be heading towards $25,000 - it's a crazy market. ;)

Bitcoin is almost there, But I don't think it will reach 20k by the end of this year. If many investors will rush in before the year end. It can possibly reach 20k.

20k is not that much high mate bitcoin is now aiming to go more higher than this value and I am pretty sure that it will go because the expectation is that more people will invest on the Christmas and this will surely help bitcoin to rise more and more so till the end of this year prices may will be above 20k and yeah this will happen we can see that in previous week bitcoin get an high beam of 5000 dollars in just two days.

It is extremely possible, look at bitcoins right now. It has grown 10% just today and there are still 5 days to go. It just needs to recover 4k and it is already near where it used to be at 19k. I think there is enough time to pump bitcoins to reach 20k in just a few days.

Few more days left and the price of bitcoin now is up again at $15,950 so that's going to be very possible. We know that movement in bitcoin's price is very fast and things like that is possible to happen. Assuming that $4,000 increase for the remaining days on this year will make bitcoin great again. And it will be the nicest thing if the fees are going to become low again too.

I think we can see bitcoin breaching 20k usd again, before the end the month, since there are still new investors coming in, and investing first on bitcoin. We might see a breach before the end of the year and the start of next year will be around 20k usd and above, hopefully the fees then will be reduced and more miners will be contributing, since the problem we have had befote were the high fees and the time of confirmations.

Since the Christmas day is over, I thinks it is possible to reach $20,000 again. It is said that it only decrease because many dump there Bitcoin because of the incoming Christmas Day and due to the huge rise of value in the past weeks, many have already earn their profit in their investment. And since the price is still not $20k many investor will come waiting for it to reach that peak and exceed it.

We are five days away to see the end of the year 2017 but i still see no sign that shows bitcoin will get to $20,000. Perhaps, in 2018 i guess.

Of course not, there are only four days left until the year ends, it is almost impossible to see bitcoin breaking those levels.

Before December, I also thought that bitcoin will come at $20000, but suddenly bitcoin is going to down and sometime up and some time down. That the reason i have changed my mind and now i think bitcoin can't be come at $20000 in 2017.

Unless the massive selling (below the current price) still taking place is stopping, i don't see bitcoin reaching 20K by the end of this year.

And the massive selling won't stop till the mempool is cleared. Lots of the sellers are people who sent their coins a week ago and the watched as the price dropped. They're usually so relieved that the price has nudged back over $15,000 by the time their coins arrive on the exchanges, they sell immediately.

It is already 2018 and bitcoin may try to reach the $20000 again in this year but it hard to predict when that happen again as bitcoin seem to be slowed down. The growth of some altcoins may have an effect on bitcoin as funds temporarily transferred to some popular altcoins undergoing a price uptrend. It still remains to be if bitcoin can repeat its achievement last year.

How so? People only lose if they end up selling at a loss. If you just keep holding your coins, which is the only right thing to do, then you won't experience any actual losses. People for once need to take distance from being so fiat centric - losses on paper in terms of USD value isn't a loss. If you bought 1BTC, regardless of the price, you'll always have that 1BTC. People were laughing at others for having bought at $10,000 when we reached that level for the first time, and look at who's laughing now?

Fresh money are coming to the exchanges every day. There are always ups and downs but hey the crypto-world is winning even if you personally don't make profit.
Back to the bitcoin topic. it may hit 20 000 some day, but not today, not its on the downtrend. If if falls too much people will begin to buy hoping to reach again 20k so, it's like a game, you cannot predict, but you can hold and pray ;)
