What happens is that at a certain moment ( snapshot), the bitcoin chain will split, and another blockchain will be born. You also have forks that are done by accident, when 2 miners mine a block at the same time, the network will be split aswell, until the next block is mined. ( nodes will accept the longest chain.) The other block will either be orphaned, or rejected. Title: Re: What is a fork?
