Hi guys im new here and this is my first post, i just invested in 12 coins in some @august and the Rest in November

My coins are ( Ripple-Iota-Cardano-Stellar Lumens-Verge-Pivx-Dogecoin-Btc-Stratis-Gulden-Civic-Siacoin)

My goal is to hold them until 2020! You guys think that is smart or should i take some of my coins end of 2018 and let the Rest just sit for more years?

I think it needs very very big balls to hold them until 2020, my own strategy is to put out the half of all coins and let the rest just sit, so it doesnt matter then if all would crash or whatever in the future... if i take a good profit i will be very happy and i will add some more coins in january, like litecoin and neo and eos and ethereum and maybe vertcoin

On what basis you think you need BIG BALLS to hold them till 2020? What's gonna happen then? It's 2 years we are talking about. That's a long time when we talk about Crypto.

Not sure why DogeCoin, I mean its a funny coin but I can't really imagine anyone considering this as a serious candidate for their portfolio.

Other than that it seems alright to me, but you might want to check back every Quarter atleast and check up on the status of these coins. I don't know much about IOTA but I hear a lot of things about that its not useable, centralized etc plus the whole thing with microsoft is fake news according to some sources. So it might be smart to atleast check up on all the facts surrounding these coins before engaging into a longterm commitment with them.

Verge , Power Ledger, Bitcoin, Cardano, NEM, Suns Contract, BAT

I agree with your post, the one currency that I will replace, is the doge, because we know its real benefit, it serves as an exchange facility, but it is not currency for high prices. Dragonchain added on that list.

Why instead of doing many investments in different coins on you go directly with ripple and IOTa, these 2 are very good projects and willing to have better success than these ones.

it is a good choice because stellar i am very confident it will increase and in 2020 maybe stellar will be like price 4 times the price waves
if you really want to invest until the year 2020 it would be very good indeed but of course it is also difficult to do

Why do you hold doge?

Some good some terrible over priced junk if you are talking todays prices that will destroy the rest of your collection

I think that you would need to be more active. The paradigm of buying a coin and waiting two or four years that worked for bitcoin is nowdays obsolete. Things move faster.

Thx for your advice guys i invest in dogecoin coz its raising really good and the doge comunity have alot of fans i knew they change them system some years ago, but i just invest small money @ 0,0018 and i own 68200 doge, i do own 3800 cardano @ 0,029 also 43900 verge @ 0,0055 and 2800 stellar lumens @ 0,038 and 1095 ripple @0,24 and 59pivx and 1084gulden, and 15000 siacoin @ 0,0043

i cant take out verge cardano and stellar lumens and ripple, pivx is raising as well and i love them concept, gulden is the badest coin i have and maybe i replace it with eos or tron

but if verge coin reaches 10 to 40 dollar i will put the half of it out and let the rest just sit for a while, pivx was @0,0055 at the beginning of 2017 and now its on 7 dollars, so why should verge not do like that:)

Hi, could you elaborate on that? If it is linked to IOTA why not just IOTA?

I'd change cardano on aion. I'd deleted sia and buy storj. Storj have stronger fundamentals than sia. Civic seems like a good option and it's on the lows right now. And I would add XSPEC as interesting anonymous coin with good tech.

IOTA and Byteball have similar algorithms - Tangle. I know only IOTA and byteball who use this algorythm.

If your goal is to hold them to 2020 I don't see why shouldn't you hold them. You have bought yourself very good coins and as you said you bought them in august so you made nice money already.
I would sell them all and enjoy money but that is me  ;D

Nobody can tell you for sure what to do to get the maximum profit, only speculate. You have to make these decisions by yourself, don't let some random people on a forum decide what you should be doing with your hard earned money.

Why would be more accurate? What do they use? Crowd predictions and such?

Contribution to the cryptocurrency is a good investment for a long time. Only the main thing is not to lose with the choice.

You have a great selection of coins out there. Just not sure if you would want to hold these until 2020. We have entered uncharted territories and have not clue if crypto will even exist in 2020 or not.

I echo this - you're in it to trade or hold surely. I'd call it the norm rather than ballsy. Unless it's not looking good for a coin, I'm expecting to hold until around 2020, or even for more years if need be to get the return I'm after.

if you are very confident with it all for profit I think it is very good and it should have patience in waiting.

I think invest in a lot of different coins is the right thing to do. That will avoid big lose by managing the risk in different project.

Read this thread if I can pick some good piece of advise here where to invest. But I'm very careful in investing to altcoins. I need to feel that there is a solid proof that they are operating in legit ways. So I need to review their whitepaper and other vital info. If not, I'll just leave the coin to dumpers. LOL

If you are going to wait until 2020 then maybe you should start forgetting about them for now or you might be in panic once you see the prices going down.
That is possible since we dont know if any investors from that coin will start dumping it.
So you better brace yourself if ever this things happens.
But I am seeing a good list so maybe you will be alright.

In my opinion you forgot the biggest potential coin, that is Bitcoin, Ethereum,Litecoin and DASH. And others coin that has big potential is POWR, OMG, MONA, ADA, TRX and others coin that development IoT(Internet of Thing) like IOTA and DATA Streamer.

In my opinion you have a good portfolio of coins. But it is unknown how they will behave in 2018 and 2019. In any case, the strategy "buy and forget for few years" will bring more profit than trading. But for your peace of mind, I would with good growth recorded a profit. And the other half would have left by 2020

You have great list, but i think you should hold less then 10 coins because split money too many might decrease profit in future. ;)

Your coins in the list are solid, I'd like to recommend adding edgless, patientory, wetrust, and Humaniq, they are solid too
and they are about to explode if not this year maybe next year. The best coin in the list is Edgeless because they will have the license and go live soon.

Holy shit verge @0,11, if it goes to 10 dollar 2018 i made 439000dollar  just with 300€ investment

At this point you could make a profit investing in almost any of the top 100 coins at coinmarketcap which have yet not done a 2x or 3x. I would avoid bitcoin, eth and litecoin and invest in any other of my liking.

I assume u have a good and balanced portfolio for 2020 year. And I'd recommend you to look at Eos. I think it will be good coin in your portfolio

I will add some like eos, komodo, neo, eth, ltc, waves, and trx, mona coin, vertcoin, when i have money again, but i never sell a coin and go into another i will all hold them

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you on making the decision to invest in cryptocurrencies. I believe those coins that you are holding are going to skyrocket to the moon.

As of now, I'm owning around 30+ types of coins in my portfolio (including those who are not yet in the market). The more assets you have, the better. Just don't put all of the eggs in a single platter.

I would like to advise you to add the coins you have to bear as a long-term investment, ie coin XUC, NXT, AMM, DAT (Datum Coin) because these coins have the potential to increase the price in the next year

Congratulation if you have a huge budget. But investing in 12 coins is not a wise strategy. it will makes your profit reduced. The best way is that hodling 5 to 6 coins. That is enough.

Investing in 12 coins are so many, it is good as long you can manage your coins well. Currently verge is increasing its value and if you have invested before you are earning huge profit now. Ripple,iota, you may add ethereum it is one of the best investment. Before making investment in 12 coins make sure to it you can monitor all your coins.

I just want this current run to last through year's end because I don't want short term capital gains on what I might want to sell, I'd rather wait for Trump's tax plan and a new year to have my short term capital gains rate be 22-24% instead of 33% which is what it will be if I sell anything I've held under a year.

I think we can get the total market cap up to a trillion yet and bitcoin to $25,000.

Frustrating I can't get people to see how good a coin PASC is and it trades on poloniex as well. haha. Very few coins under $100M market cap even interest me at this point but I own most of the ones that do, except one.

For me you must hold them until 2020, for sure you can gain a lot of profit by just holding them. Though I am not so much familiar on some coins you invested like, Verge, Pivx, and Gulden, it doesn't matter, as long as you believe you can make profit by holding such coins like that. And I believe Ripple, Cardano, Iota, Btc, and Stratis is good a coin for investment. So you must expect a higher return of investment on that coins at 2020.

I do not agree, the more diversification - the less the risks. This is the basic principle of investing. And it must always be observed. In the field of crypto currency, this is especially important.

If you want to make a big profit for the coming years you have to invest in ETH, eBTC, POWR, LSK, XSPEC.


Forget about Ripple. Theres too much supply (38.7 billion circulating, 100 billion max).

Xspec and Powr both are good choices.

Although it looks like you chose strong projects, why would you spread your investment accross 12 different coins?
If you are new, I imagine you did not put a lot of money into it.
If you have put a couple thousand usd into your first investments, then your portfolio is spread out too thin.
Although that minimizes risks, it also gives you very little gain.

Well, one of the good things is, if you invested last month, then a lot of those coins have probably risen significantly in value from the original price you bought them.
My advice would be to sell off half of them and move your profits into 6 coins that you truly believe have longterm potential.
For me, I would even reduce it to just 3 or 4 coins.

And always never forget, btc is king.
At least half of your investments should be in btc.

Your portfolio is looking quite healthy with a mix of really good and prominent coins/tokens. I think it's really difficult to make the 100% best choices as we never know what market sentiment will be up to. The markets are really fickle and this is also true for cryptocurrencies. Of course you can see if some coins have large communities and business backing and so you can get s feeling of what might do well in the future. I wish you all the best.

check about electroneum this is also a good coin, you can buy it from cryptopia. it almost touch in 9 sent . i have 5000etn i almost see my profit, i think if you buy it then you will success.

The choice is made and even invested. Do not regret it. It was your choice and it deserves respect. Now about the main thing. The strategy of holding coins is the most profitable strategy that can only exist for altcoyins. I will say from experience, even the most ardent speculators who "burn coins in their hands" refuse fast money and go on long. Tip, the longer you hold the coins the more you will profit. And do not forget that we live in the golden age of the crypto currency.

You choose your crypto bag, so it is first step, you have divergency with 12 coins, IOTA is best choise to hodl for years, Stellar and Verge are real gems, Riplle has to much supply so i doubt it will be huge sucess

It's all about knowing those coins before placing an entry, its seems that you already studied what coins to support and the longer you are holding them the bigger chances to earn from your investment,  good luck to you and if you have some time to update your thread regarding to what happen to those specific coins.

Investment is a good idea. You have to make a decisions regarding on your digital currency. Think wise on what you are doing. For me, Just hold it if you think it gives you a better future.

I also chose an investment strategy for long periods. Only in my investment portfolio is not 12, but 35 different coins.

What is the sum of your investments? If it less than 1000US then don’t worry. This is not the sum that will have an impact of losing big stack of money. I think with such set of currencies you will get profit anyway.

I hold XVG,XRP,NEO,WTC,MSP,DOGE,CCO,WABI and BTS.

Am not sure about Ripple & Stellar Lumens. From my limited experience, there are highly correlated and easily manipulated by whales.

Siacoin had been underperforming for very long.

BTC is a good choice, should complement it with ETH and other blockchain coins.

Long term investment is a good idea but i would suggest to replace  doge and civic to Monero and NEO. This coins have a better future than those hype coins.

What i dont understand that btc and euro is showing me - i have 180 to 190€ plus in btc i dont know why its showing wrong?

i like your portfolio, looks very similar to mine. as i myself live in Asia, i have some Asian origin coins, like NEO, XEM, and OMG.

Its hard to say what 12 are the "best" but you can do research on the top 20 coins that are currently on the market.

It's literally hard not to win these days, most of coins are green, one more that the others :-)

if your goal is to hold your coins until 2020 I think you are the type of person who is very patient, the combination of coins you hold is pretty good You can also add coins like ethereum, litecoin and neo. I think these three coins are also worthy of you have, Moreover ethereum is very good in my opinion many tokens are made on blockchain ethereum eg eos, tron and omiseGo so it will be nice price ethereum in the future maybe next year 2018 could break the price $ 1500 / ethereum.

I thought alot about it and i changed my mind to exchange gulden into waves, i think waves have a real future, i know dogecoin dont have a future yet, but i bought it really cheap so i dont care, if it will fail, but i almost made over 300% profit on doge lets see where it will sit next year, i believe in the community of dogecoin

This is good portfolio, all these coin has strong fundamental so in my opinion the price will increasing alot next year. But beside these coin many other altcoin has big potential that just entered the market like AION, WABI, POWR, DATA.

Yes i knew but im happy with my coins now and i will stay with them, there would never be enough coins to have and honestly i dont have the money for other coins at the moment, so i will just let them grow up

Can you explain me why is 2020 too long for them? What i dont want to sell and maybe keep longer then 2020 is ripple, but i will see, my goal is to take a nice profit out at the end of 2020 and let the rest just grow, but u think they will loose value until 2020?

Maybe he already did but now wants to hodl some of the profits to make even more. Personally, I have a goal and won't exit this market until I loose all or achieve it. But that's just me  ;) :D

I don´t think you (or anyone) can dedicate the time that requires to properly manage a portfolio of 12 coins. I would not go for more than 7 no matter what period you consider.

Better investing on one of the projects that is doing ICO with this makes more profit. I suggest it to invest in DIWtoken because the potentially huge potential will benefit.

holding the coin is a good option, but I think you should take advantage in 2018 and you can make a profit. you do not have to take too high a risk by holding the coins for too long because it is not good and we do not know the prediction of the coin in the future will be like.

Investing in different coins means the risk is lower. It's safe but it's hard to get the most profit. However, I still choose this way.

We could prefer one ICO instead of investing into too many coins I mean 4 to 5 coins is still preferable but about 12 coins it will be a real mess so as you have rightly said it's better to invest into ICO like PolicyPal Network , DIW and all.

I can't see why you have dogecoin and siacoin. The price of both of those coins are cheap, but the market cap is huge. There is not much room to grow. These coins have no purpose. Dogecoin is a meme coin. Sacoin is no different then the other bunch of cloud storage coins.
