Title: any suggested turnkey mining rig frame?
Post by: ggbtctalk000 on December 17, 2017, 01:03:40 AM
i have ordered 4 types of mining rig from ebay, it looks like most of them are falling out of favor.
So far I received 2 of them there is always some sort of problem with the ones I received so far including can not mount the GPU because holes are out of alignment and one of them also has no floor so no place to put a power supply. Another one has floor but mounting holes in the floor are so haphazardly drilled you can not screw anything to it.
THey are all piece of crap, my understanding is that once you pay with your $$ you should be getting something that meets minimum std.

I paid premium for 133$ that is shpping from HK, which has not arrived yet.
THere is one also coming which I hope it will not cause headache.

All in all, i think large No. of frames are sold in ebay are just bunch of garbage.

I am looking for something really that fits standard GPU, MB and PSU without additional mods searching around suitable parts etc and buy several.

I even looking if there 3D printing models available, I can simply buy a 3d printer, if it can print out rigs that are sturdy enough.

well got a soft piece of wood from home depot and large amount of screws and brackets from orchard hardware store and started building one. Built one within an hour, it is bit of a physical exercise but was worth it.

full wood is such a bad idea, this on the other hand not so much, and using proper motherboard spacers to mount the mobo to the boards, very nice and clean looking, only cost about 30 dollars to make

The best mining case that is on the market in my opinion is this.

He has 6 GPU frames and 8 GPU frames as well. It looks like they are all out of stock, but you can message him to ask when he will have more in stock.

They are not cheap, but they are industrial grade and extremely precise as far as measurements and holes drilled etc. They are easy enough to assemble that my 7 year old and wife can put one together in 10 minutes or so.

i am presuming you are concerned about risk of fire that can burn wood so metal is better?
Well, here is my version: when using metal frame i found risk of shortage and electrocution is risky  8)

Yours look good, but still I'd think I will go for wood.

aluminum is a horrible conductor of electricity, if It were steel that I had used I could understand that statement. but I didn't use steel. and if you get a small shock, that means you've got a problem somewhere and prolly should find out where it is. a fire on the other hand can put others at risk.

Aluminum is roughly six times more conductive than steel is.  You'd be SAFER making your rig mounts from steel than Aluminum.
