Yes, the last couple of weeks has just been crazy. Loads of new money coming into crypto and spreading out across the alts. The question is how much longer is this rise sustainable? There has to be a retracement at some point. Take Cardano as an example - yes, a solid project with great prospects, but a cap of $13 billion and rising for something that has only just been launched?

Thanx for the link. Interesting project but in my humble opinion I don't think the project starter will keep reporting during FIVE(!) coming years.
Here (https://buyandhold100crypto.com/buy-and-hold-100-crypto-for-5-years-the-experiment/) the PS gave 2 screenshots of TOP-20. The first one was made on December 3rd, 2016 and the second December 4th, 2017. So I compared them and can say that Peerplays which rank was #18 and it costed $15.26 on December 3rd, 2016 now is out of TOP-300 (its rank is 310 (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/peerplays-ppy/) and its price is $3.91).

Yes I checked some old coing on top 100 as well and not all of them did well, some even died out. But that's normal.

I think do investment in this way could help you earn a lot during the up trend, I'm not sure about 5 years period, is that too long?
I've ever read the book "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham with comments from Warren Buffet and 1 other famous investor, they also discussed about this method, it may be effective in short term, not for that long.

A good experiment, but it's better to put not time frames, but goals in the price equivalent. For example, I bought $ 1 selling $ 50, even if 50 will be tomorrow

Good experiment, but you should be careful as trend reversal can make the profits disappear quickly, so you have to be vigilant and pro active to secure your funds.

Thats good strategy bro,but I think it will good profits in short term but if you want to earn in long term investment you need to reduce the number of crypto currency your are investing,maybe 10 altcoins is suitable but select good altcoins and make your investment in long term as you said for five years then you maybe a millionaire at the time.Good luck.

Very cool experiment. If this portfolio ever blows up to a large number it will be hard for you to stomach the down days. The longer your in the crypto space and the bigger your account gets you will end up with most of your crypto in the large caps as a HODLER in projects like BTC,Dash,Ethereum,Monero and Litecoin.

After 9 days you have earned $841 or just in one day? do you know anything about activity tokens? I can guarantee you 5000% ROI in less than a year if you invest on it. though you can't find it on the first 100 coins in marketcap.com, you can't find it any where whatsoever. lol. did you know that 97 out of 100 coins are nothing other than scam shitcoins?

I see you chose a lot of different coins which in a long run raised all together. But I think for such profit it could be use a one-two coins with bigger basic investment and they would bring the same positive profit. Just there is a problem, just like in gambling, how to know on which coin to bet from all this coins that exist now?!

Of course it's not too late, with some coins active development and growth is yet to come.

That's why its not advisable to invest because emotion or recommendation from others but on real project value. You also need to check if the project is consistent and on the right track.

Cryptocurrencies will be the next investment plan for young people. They just buy the coin and hold it. In one or two years they will get the profit. Can you imagine if you hold 100 ETH last year when eth is still 84 USD. How much profit do you have now , ETH now is 700 USD. That's not a good offer for old investors and bankers like Jamie Dimon, that said bitcoin was bubble.

Really cool idea!! My biggest flaw in trading is being afraid that my instincts are wrong so I panic sell and buy irrationally being afraid on missing out. These last three days I did my research and could have made 600% given the coins I chose, but my emotional trading made that a measly 5%.  It is just my first week of getting back in to trading after 5 years, so I am relearning a lot quickly. Might give this a go though ^^

hehe, what a funny project and i am curious how your portfolio looks after 5 years of hodling. but if it goes up constantly like in the last 9 days, you will have a good amount of money after 5 years ;-)

I think it would be better to invest his money in TOP-25, maybe TOP-50 of cryptocurrencies and every half month/ one month redistribute loss/profit between coins of his portfolio.

In russian community is quite popular the same experiment, but a man invest 52 bitcoins during 52 weeks of the year. So his goal is to increase $ equivalent from 250 000 $ to 1 250 000$, in other words gain million during 1 year.

I forgot to say, that at the beginning a price of BTC was around 5 mil $. For now, he almost reached the goal and gained 800 mil $ in 2-3 month.

Wow. You picked right assets in right time. Theese days most of assets are rising very well. I heard about this experiment many times. Man I know invested 100$ in 100 altcoins at poloniex during the rise of the alts. He made 2x in short period. It's always win when everything is rising. But most profitable way always to analyse assets you are going to invest.

Graphical looks something real improvements.
We need to think that it is still based on their project development or expanding the business in orders to increase the value of the coins.
However we don't have other options to believe in. We need act according to the currency market top listed coins.
They may not be sustainable in future. Any way those may be under control. Not like bitcoin.

I have read the title of theme and I am not surprised at all. There is no need to buy 100 different currencies. If you bought 1 BTC 5 years ago what is the kind of lucky guy you would be now. You see!

But at the end of the day it give more to just hold bitcoin.

I would definitely hold ADA for the long term. Cardano can do for its’ Blockchain what all the other companies launching ico’s Are trying to do for Ethereum. ADA is well thought out and will be the dominant token over Ethereum very soon.

If you're going to hold the coin market for five years, you should learn to ignore short-term earnings, or you'll doubt yourself and sell it when prices start to fall.

Yeah I have the same experience. I also made a lot of money with my investment in cryptocurrency. If we look at the price of bitcoin it jumped from 3000 dollars to almost 20000 dollars in just a few months. It means that the investors who invested in august 2017 have earned almost 16500 dollars in one bitcoin in just 4 months. Now you can imagine the profit ration of bitcoin and after that Altcoin is growing very fest.

Many are proud of their success supposedly they're tough and many traders develop. After all, many do not mind to earn in a growing market. But falling as. In 2014 when everything sank who would be so proud of their success. That would be cool. And the growing of special abilities is not necessary.

But still very interesting watching you continue success to you

Do you store all of them on the exchange itself or what? because some of the coin amount seems lower than the minimum amount required for withdrawal. It's a nice experiment though and i really want to see how that portofolio perform 5 years later.

I'm too lazy too reread this whole topic but can anybody answer me how many wallets the 100 cryptos holder using right now or maybe he is storing all his coins at burses where he bought'em?

I'm sure they will report huge profits. At least one of 100 will show 100x, covering the loss. But if they invest for 10-20 coin not just blindly, the average return will be 5x per year I recall. For your entire investment, not just 1 or 2 lucky coins.

Oh! I remember you and your experiment.  I'm impressed you really are sticking with it.  Takes a lot of patience.

In the long long run, undoubtedly you will be successful.
But to me, this is just one huge roll of the dice, kind of a try my luck type strategy.

In my experience, there is a lot more profit to be had by making informed, strategic decisions rather than putting up to luck.
An example for this, is with the tiny rise in bitcoin's value yesterday, I rode that mini pump and made series of short term trades and ended up making around $1200 yesterday.  Today, I have already made $400 even though the market is stalling.
