What is E-Coin?

E-Coin is the new safe, secure and easy way to get the things you need, and the latest way E Corp is making life easier for you.


Why launching a cryptocurrency?

Since May 9, 2015, the regular payment system provided by E Corp is having some issues. To face this, we decided to launch E-Coin, a cryptocurrency that allows you to get easily all the things you need. You can use it in any shop that accepts E-Coin, it is fast, safe and secure.


How to use E-Coin?

A new tab was integrated with the last update of our mobile app Bank of E. You just have to go to the App Store or Google Play, depending on what system you actually use, and update the app. In most cases, this is automatic : you don't have to do anything.
In the app, go to the E-Coin tab. From there, you can see how much coins you have in your E Corp wallet, send or receive E-Coins. In the near future, you will even be able to do E-Coin loans.

Install Fusion, the Ubiq wallet, go to Contracts, and click Watch contract. Then, enter the smart contract hash:
Your address is you Ubiq wallet address.

You can also use MyEtherWallet:
Go to https://www.myetherwallet.com/. In the right-hand corner, change Network ETH to UBQ. This step is very important. Once done, you can create a new wallet or open a wallet you already have. On the right, in Token balances, click Add custom token. Enter the contract hash mentionned above, the symbol ECRP and the numberr of decimals : 8. Again, the wallet address is the Ubiq address displayed in Account address.

E-Coin is a fan-coin of the series Mr Robot. You can use it to do transactions with others E-Coin owners, or just buy it to boast at work!
Indeed, it doesn't bring anything special, I did not bring lots of modifications on the source code. But my skills doesn't allow me to this and the goal is just to create a cryptocurrency in honour of this series.

I haven't heard about this E corp before. Is it an international payment system like paypal and who are the people behind this? Can you post the link of your website and other details here? I understood that this coins can be used for shopping. But I think my doubts will only get cleared after seeing your website.  Are you planning any ICO for this coin?

There is no website at the moment. In fact, E Corp is a fictive American bank from the TV series Mr Robot. The bank is partially taken down in the first season, so they launch a cryptocurrency to face Bitcoin and keep the control. I just wanted to do this in real life  ;) It isn't really realistic since it is not regulated by the world's biggest conglomerate, and it doesn't bring any advantage to your everyday life, but it was the best I could do.
PS : of course there will be no ICO, I don't need to rob people like this

I think I've heard the name of e-coin, but do not pay much attention, is this the same project ?, there are some questions in my head, maybe it can be answered with the next progress of this coin, may be better

Hi dev, why is block time 10 minutes? Because of this time problem,  original Bitcoin have too many forks to cut the block time. If you want to attract the people for a long time basis , you need to cut the block time 1 minute and increase the total supply 210 million.  21 m coins will not help decentralization .

Since it's more a joke than anything else, I thought that this supply would be enough, but in fact I don't really know... For the same reasons : this block time is to keep the size of the blockchain quite small.

Hi again;  Imagine that every day new miners come to the ground and many new coins try to attracts the people. Cryptonight algo network always have huge problems while trying to open the blocks. Look about, sikka, iridium, bitcoinn, humanitary, croat , b2b, and some others still donot have any exchange over the 4-5 months.

you have to cut the block time if possible 30 seconds/a block or max. 1 minute that, when the network slows , that blocks will open sometimes 5 or more minutes..

Every new bitcoin fork use different algo's and small block times for to attract the people.. I suggest you before a good start you ask to community , i believe that many people
wants equihash or neoscrypt algo's insteead of cryptonight algo.

Exchanges , dono't want to struggle with cryptonight algo coins . So you have a big chance, if you use equihash  or neoscrypt and reasonable block time. If the blocks times are samaller than you have to increase the total supply because of this i suggest 210 m.  

Anyway, you can also ask the community and get the people opinion before starting. With this way, many people will be interested in to mine your coin...

I'm pretty sure that the block time will be reduced. 60 seconds, maybe? And the supply will be increased, but how much?

Block time 2 mins I would say.
Please don't increase supply too much. I think the current amount is fine

These marketers.... Always searching for money where there is nothing to take.

Probably as the price gets higher, AI came and took the coin with big power and sell it at a high price.
Or they get a large amount of new coin and sell at a high price when listed.
Investors are buying hash power to get coins.
I feel that it is not a situation where general users mining.

Is there any countermeasure?

For example
Wallet is only the function of the wallet,not mining,not solo mining.
Pool is only official pool.
diff is only  "auto" ,not user setting.
High diff disable.
The block reward changes dramatically. Start MAX100, one year after  MAX1500.

I think the cryptonight coin that is doing it perfectly does not exist yet.
It is better to stop the system that gains large profits with big power and early miner.
If the coins are not evenly distributed, it will be a very risky coin.

What the heck is ECORP and how can a PoW coin core business be being directly used as a payment method on whatever app? There will be zero liquidity on the books for a loooong time (if not forever)

Sorry for the time I took to answer, I was quite busy this week. Thank you for the suggestion, but I think this would need to change fully how the rewards are calculated. This is maybe a bit too ambitious : we must keep in mind that this coin is not here in order to revolutionize the market, it's just a simple cryptocurrency based out of a joke about a TV series !

Important updates : Blocktime changed to 60 seconds, as suggested by the community. The supply will be increased too.

PS : also looking forward to organize a little bounty campain, but please don't reserve anything, it would be useless.

I think it's good to create a new project in this way. Let all people participate in the project construction, brainstorm the best projects, enhance people's sense of participation and pride in the project.

For the daemon issue, this is certainly because the node was temporarly disconnected. I'm having an issue with it, currently I have both my laptop and the server with the daemon running but they aren't connecting to each other. Could you retry please ?

still not work with both ip. Using add-peer already but when i connect to daemon, it still tell core is busy.

I'm thinking about turning this coin into a token... it would be way simplier.

How about with this project now?

After reflection, I decided to make a token. So it will be on the Ethereum blockchain, or maybe another like Ubiq or Neo (since Ethereum is a bit overloaded)...
This will simplify things a lot, mainly because there will be ni need for an infrastructure : no more problems with servers, nodes, daemons not syncing... This will also be better for users, as they will use the Ethereum (or another smart contracts cryptocurrency) wallet, instead of the cryptonote command line wallet (that wasn't really user-friendly!).
