Title: Two blocks mined with only 2 seconds apart!
Post by: aplistir on December 17, 2017, 02:47:16 PM
Wow.
This has to be a new record?

Blocks 499795 and 499796 were mined with only 2 seconds between them !
Is the difficulty level too low?

Blocks are mined closely together very frequently.

The purpose of difficulty is to make the blocks average ten minutes - having hashrate is like participating in a lottery to mine a block.  Basically, they're guessing until they find the nonce (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Nonce).
