This has to be a new record? Blocks 499795 and 499796 were mined with only 2 seconds between them ! The difficulty cant be that low.

The purpose of difficulty is to make the blocks average ten minutes - having hashrate is like participating in a lottery to mine a block. Basically, they're guessing until they find the nonce (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Nonce). |
