Title: Waves wallet lost seed
Post by: Bennie123 on December 17, 2017, 04:44:41 PM
Hello,

I am very stupid. I have never copied/stored my seed from my Waves wallet.
My wallet was on my internet (chrome) under my favorites and was stored in such a way that I only had to provide my password and login name.
Now my cache was cleared OR cookies were deleted and I have to recover my account which is not possible without the seed.

Is there any other way of restoring my wallet? I have quite some coins in there and I am very, very scared that I lost them all.
Is it maybe not possible to recover my cache/undo deletion of cookies and have my wallet back in old stage so that I only have to key in my password?

Also I know I copied my seed on my clipboard, but it was overwritten later and I know the clipboard only saves the last thinbg put on there..

Please help me....
I nice reward for the one who has THE solution.... :'(

Without seed, there's no other way access the wallet. However, yes you could try restoring cache. In the first comment in this link (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/43369620/is-there-a-way-to-restore-deleted-chrome-cache-files) the poster stated that he've done recovering his cache files before with the steps he gave. Follow it and check if it will work for you.

I don't know why you still not save the seed despite the fact that there's a note during the registration. Anyway, good luck on recovering the cache files

Yes, they clearly say that seed is very important to access your account. The same even applies to many other coins like IOTA as well. If we lose these seeds then almost no way we can get back our coins.

If you can able to get back your coins by restoring cache then better save that seed in any offline storage as well as write down and keep in some safe place.

Once cache and clipboard been deleted or overwritten then I would sadly say that consider those coins are lost forever since theres no way that you can able to access those wallets again without those seeds. This is just like what happened to me when I'm still a newbie which I do neglect on saving up those seeds or phrases on waves wallet and later on I did realize that I do need to back up it but its too late because I lose those words since I didn't able to save it. This is just a lesson learned for me that's why its always suggested to save up everything.
