Post by: Vladdirescu87 on December 17, 2017, 04:59:20 PM
The Ancora Pen Company has announced the production and pre-sale details of its latest product, the Bitcoin Pen. The first in its modern range called the Crypto Pens Series, the Bitcoin Pen represents Ancora’s desire as one of the oldest pen producers in the world to embrace the future of luxury.

The Bitcoin Pen

Platinum, Gold and Silver Numbered pens – featuring highly-coveted serials such as 01/88, 88/88, 001/888 and 888/888 – can only be purchased with Bitcoin and Ethereum and will each come with a special leather pen case.

Everybody is jumping on to the crypto bandwagon and make use of the Bitcoin brand. I see no connection between this pen and Bitcoin, except that you can purchase it using Bitcoin or Ethereum. If the brand belonged to a company and was copy-righted, they couldn't pull off a stunt like this.

I would much rather partner up with a hardware wallet manufacturer like Trezor or Ledger to develop a quality Pen/Hardware wallet

combination. This will be a very desirable gift for any Crypto currency enthusiast. {Most of these wallets support many Alt coins} A

pen with a Bitcoin logo is not my idea for a special gift.  ::) {especially a over-priced gold plated pen}

I am quite sure that a lot of the physical crypto items collectors will like this, and maybe even consider purchasing one. It has a limited supply, which is also something people look forward to, and especially the first few lowest serial numbers. I personally wouldn't really buy this since I am not that much into collecting anything, but if we're talking about luxury items, I am looking to get a small BTC symbol in 24k gold either custom made, or ordered from a store. That's something I have always wanted to have, and actually wouldn't mind paying some decent money for.

limited edition pens like this reputable brand is gonna be definitely a
collectors item. I like this project its very novel but very interesting
from a collectors viewpoint. It means that top brands are looking at
bitcoin in a different light.

It seems to be a great investment with the current prices and discount. It costs $1250 now and is expected to be $2500 at retail, so it might be worth it to buy one just to sell it later. I like it, although I'd be afraid to carry it around with me. If I were to use it it would be only at home which in a way defeats the purpose of having all that BTC bling on it.

Ancora 1919 Pens Its Support for Cryptocurrency, Issues Limited Pen Series

Luxury Penmaker, Ancora, continues to pen its support for the emerging cryptocurrency industry by producing an exclusive line of high-end writing accessories, inspired by the leading blockchain platforms of our time.

Ancora’s Ethereum Pen goes into its pre-production sale on April 8th and like the token presale structure it emulates, early contributors will get a 50% discount on every pen bought. However unlike the coin it represents, Ancora will be issuing a limited number of Ethereum Pens - 88 fountain pens and 888 rollerball pens - each with their unique number etched into the bottom, verifying authenticity.

Interesting. Even such an old company, which seemed to be conservative, decided to create a limited series of its production and connect it to bitcoin. It's a sign that people are ready to accept bitcoin in their lives

Think I just saw Chronoswiss also releasing a "crypto watch" series... same "token sale" model as Arcona, it would seem. I never actually really knew that this luxury item industry existed until I arrived in Brunei in 2013. Tax-free income there, lots of disposable income, and almost everyone collecting shoes, handbags, motorbikes, watches.

Granted, they all seem to appreciate in value due to collectibility, but then no one actually buys it until the original owner is dead ;)

Maybe a hundred years from now, we'll find one of these Bitcoin Pens or Bitcoin Watches in some rich aristrocrat museum somewhere. Well. Not us. Our... descendants.
