Title: Flame on the motherboard (Biostar TB250-BTC)
Post by: tenie on December 17, 2017, 06:00:04 PM
So something strange happened yesterday: I moved a working rig, set it up in the new place and when I powered it up the motherboard just fried (little flame) under the heatsink near the CPU.

No previous wiring work was done before, just shut down after running few weeks, moved and powered up.

Could that be because of some PSU failure or is just caused by the motherboard? Because I'm trying to somehow avoid this happening on a new board also.

Any help appreciated :)

just shifted something or got a piece of metal on board.  Shit happens.

Maybe some dirt fell on the motherboard causing short circuit and you didn't see it before power on.
